OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
Maybe he's working on a functioning soft valve? I've tried eight of their pre-manufactured and every single on of them leaked from the beginning at different, but noticeable rates. If the company that makes the product can't make one of its key components work properly. I couldn't redo theirs successfully nor reuse the soft valve on a different brand bag.

OTOH I've had no problems with leaks when I make a bag with the Volcano hard mouthpiece. So that's ok, especially since those Herbie bags are so freakin' expensive and don't seem to work properly.

:peace:

Stickstones gave me a great pointer with shatter...sandwich it between two herbie concentrate pads. Cranked it up to 445, turned on some fan assist and got some great convection dabbing, one of the main reasons why I bought the herbie. After a 5 second blast of fan assist, I didn't need to use it again as I got a steady stream of vapor from regular pulls. I had to stop because it wouldn't stop. I love this machine.

Why can't you just place a tiny ball of shatter on top of the concentrate pad without sandwiching it? Are you finding that it clogs up the top screen without an extra pad on top?

Not at all. The benefits of shopping with stickstones. He gives me advice and I follow because it usually improves my experience. Thinking about it, that is probably why.

Just like you said...keeps it cleaner. sometimes (not always) the pad can get wonky in there and start bouncing around (I've seen them flip over before). The sandwich seems to contain it in the pad until it is all gone for a really clean experience. And the double pad is thicker so it is harder to flip. Give it a shot...to each his own!

Okay, good to know. My pad has yet to flip, but I've only ran concentrates a couple of times. Your method makes sense though as you don't have to worry about the concentrate moving around due to air flow. And... I'm all about clean so I'll have to give it a try.. Thanks..

I always used the sandwhich technique/method as well. @Mrmrmrmr how would you have destroyed your pads by not sandwhiching?

I'm pretty stoked that my brotha @lazylathe is hooking me up with babysitting his Herbie w/ Swagger LE HT on friday! I have friday to monday off of work so it's going to be a Herbalizing weekend that's forsure! I'm hoping it causes me to have to have a Herbie once again! Stoked!

Some may recall that I have had very inconsistent results with my Herbie. I went so far as to get a return shipping label from Massdrop because the unit is not valid for warranty from Herbalizer. However, on a whim the other night I popped out my bottom screen and replaced it with a Haze convection screen after using my finger to form it into the chamber. Added about .8g of material and topped it with an aromapad (Powerful @stickstones for the suggestion) and fired up a bag at 433 (respect to the suggestion). I got thicker vapor then I had previously with the stock setup and felt like I was able to fill up more bags than usual.

I got brave last night and ran a bowl with the same method, but using the whip instead. The result was consistent clouds of vapor that lasted several sessions. I got a little braver this evening and started the herbie off at 385 with the whip. The first few draws were disappointing and vaporless but then the vapor began producing better. I was able to run two decent sessions at 385 and just cranked it to 433. Will probably start on another bowl to end the night..

I am still unable to white out my D020 at 445 with the fan assist. I find that disappointing but I really am pleased with the improvement that I feel I've gotten by replacing the bottom screen with the Haze conduction screen.

I'm really hoping that others with both the Herbalizer and the Haze will give it a shot in the name of science and let me know if they found any difference in their vapor production. I know @Vape Dr. has both units. What say you, good doctor? Can I talk you into sacrificing a Haze screen and testing the waters with some herb?

I am not able to white out my vb bubbler with both my Herbie and minivap. I consistently white out my vb bubbler with my enano. But I find the vapor from my herbie to be the best. It gets me medicated on a different level. Might just be because it is my new toy, the amount I dished out on it, or all the fantastic reviews. Might be that it is so technologically advanced that they efficiently maximized vaporization.

Damn, just took the first hit from my solo while writing this and taste. My solo white walls my vb bubbler.

I may just be thrown off because I can white out my d020 with my Ascent, Haze, and Flowermate. Some people seem to have vids where they consistently produce thick vapor that really clouds up a bag, but I really haven't experienced that yet for myself.

I believe that the thickness or density of clouds does not indicate better vapor, just toasting the flowers more. But that is just my opinion. I don't know the science to all of this. When I feel like milking, I use my enano and solo. When it is about taste and efficiency, I use my herbie and Minivap. When it's about speed and precision, only the herbie.

appreciate the post about placing your pad on top of your load. Improved performance. I have the old stock whip and like the attaching piece much better on the new whip.

you guys are keeping your screens clean by swapping them from bottom to top in the bowl and vice-versa, right?
How often would you recommend flipping your screens (of course depends on usage but about 1 gram a day thru the herbie)?

I've had screens get clogged as quickly as one bowl with some strains. When in doubt, it's worth flipping your screens.

I had been swapping them about once a week or so. But for whatever reason I'm getting better results with the Haze screen

One thing that I noticed about Herbie was that it wouldn't whitewall like some other vapes i've owned the past. I noticed the exact same thing with my LSV, and to a lesser extent Cloud. I thought this occurred due to primarily convection heating? Whitewalling is so much easier with more conduction style vapes. Even a bit of conduction adds more white to the wall! With the d020, that won't whitewall as much simply due to volume, it's getting into your lungs faster....you'll still exhale a cloud. But a bigger piece would fill and whitewall first and then get inhaled.

Would a bit coarser grind help with keeping the screens cleaner longer? That's also a factor in whitewalling. Grinding finer causes thicker vapour, but at the expense of being harsher.
