It is not suppossed to be "connected'.
It is meant to just lightly sit in there.
The bud needs to be of high quality to get thick vapor... and also, it must be primed first.
360º won't give huge clouds until you get the load going.
A couple of hits at 400, then try lowering it to 360º for thicker vapor at lower temps...
or else just be patient and do a number of hits to get your herb really cranking!
I will certainly heed your advice and try priming with a higher temp first.
In Alaska, while we are a medical state, there are no dispensaries, so I'm not sure exactly what strains or quality I am getting. I'm still relatively new to marijuana, and vaping in general, so I probably don't have a good eye yet for determining quality.
Back to the whip tubing; I find that if I just let my whip tubing lightly sit atop the herb chamber I get very wispy, almost non-existent hits, and the tubing becomes dislodged far too easily. This morning when I vaped before bed I became frustrated with it popping off with the smallest of movements and so experimented with using my left had to hold the whip tubing securely to the herbalizer and using my right hand to hold the whip. When I did this I found that I got clouds that were much more comparable to what I would expect. To me that indicates that there may be something wonky with my whip tubing connection, although I don't see anything that looks out of sorts.
On my herbie I just give the connector a gentle twist as I'm inserting it, and viola! it's secured.
I was trying your method this morning, and I wasn't able to get it secured real well. I still find that minor movement partially dislodges my connector, which interferes with the vapor path.
I may have to explore an alternate solution such as using a small cut of slightly wider tubing in between the herb chamber bowl and the whip tubing connector, or try to find a small silicone o-ring to place on the connector...I'm not sure.
I would love in the future for herbie to release a bowl and whip connection that connected with magnets like their herb chamber does atop the heater. I think that would allow for a very stable connection that could rotate freely.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what diameter tubing I should look into to secure atop my herb chamber? I think perhaps I've seen some posts in the past, so I will go back and re-read this thread some to see if I can uncover it.
Thanks folks, happy vaping.
