I'm also interested regarding warranties .
I haven't registered my Evo from MD yet , but I believe SM55 is aware of that drop and have already responded to a few issues .

Here's the latest answer from the Herbie MD discussion .
Andy also handled the Evo drop .

WTF??? thats some shit....

Yup. Offering to sell something you don't have authorization to is kinda shady.

I found this on the MD comments

"We have limited the drop to people only from US and Canada because the warranty covers only those regions. Just to be clear, all warranties are valid when you purchase from Massdrop.

Nope. Nope. And nope.

I saw those comments and they are VERY misleading. (If not worse)

When I've seen MD get caught doing this before, they will explain that the device is covered by *a* warrantee... And then they say (later) it's a MassDrop warrantee. Which of course means more grey market units.

So these units are NOT COVERED by manufacture's warrantee.

Period.

EDIT: I've said this many times before, but some MDs they do work with manufacturer. Those are legit. This is NOT one of those cases.

I would be wary of buying from Massdrop based on my earlier conversation with the herbalizer team. It puts the company in kind of a bad spot because when they sell to authorized retailers they have agreements on how to handle returns and warranty issues. When things are sold through non authorized retailers then people who have issues are always going to come back to the company for warranty work and that could put an unexpected burden on them.

I still desire an herbalizer though. What accessories would people buy with it if they bought direct from herbalizer? I am thinking I would want a couple extra screen/brush packs and an extra magnetic bowl and wait on balloons. I see myself using a whip more. Is getting a 3 pack of whips good or would people go for the ssv tubing that I read about earlier in the thread? I want to be economical by buying everything I need for the next year or so and just storing it.

I received this in an email from Josh today asking me to pass it on here:

"I updated our warranty page to specifically state NO MASSDROP. Vapornation is knowingly violating our T&C, Massdrop knows the warranty is invalid yet is saying that it is. It is shameful."

Guys if you want something bad enough you'll save up to get it. Take it from a guy who saved up to get it.

Get it the right way!

A reseller went rouge it happens, it's out of their control. How can they take that kind of hit while still remaining profitable as such a young company?

Don't like it? Don't pay for it!

And most certainly please do not pollute this thread bitching about it! :2c::peace:

EDIT: I made this post without seeing the above post.

not trying to pollute this thread, i was just saying that I would not be purchasing it through MD (which is what i wanted to do, not strictly because i wanted this vape, but because it was a very good deal.) But since the EVO drop is authorized then i'll happily get a high quality vape for a great price.

I apologize for any problems i caused trying to figure out what was legit and what was not.

It does not matter what massdrop says about warranty.
They did not make the Herbalizer, and therefore they can not speak for the manufacturer.
There is no discussion to be had.
Herbalizer website clearly states their position.
They updated the warranty page to specifically state NO MASSDROP.
Vapornation is knowingly violating our T&C, and Massdrop knows the warranty will be invalid yet they are knowingly misleading customers. It is shameful.

I'm Happy with you , I'm Very Happy with you !

Thank you for asking the question and starting the conversation .
There is Nothing wrong with getting the Correct info to pass on ...

Since I did have success with the Evo on MD , I was hoping to acquire another High end vape
at a discounted price . Plus with all the other products/vapes they've had with success , I
thought it would have be the same .

Thank you @stickstones and others for providing the Correct answer for FC members , and saving me ( and some ) from potential stress/headaches if issues arise . Maybe that's what
MD is relying on ... no issues with the Herbie .

What you will like even more is that Herbalizer was the one who initiated with me because they were "concerned that the good people at FC will be taken advantage of." I really like this company!

Is vapornation supplying them to massdrop then? That'll make them lose my business cuz that's not right

I just wrote to Vapornation.
I said:
You have been exposed for violating the agreement with Herbalizer, in your Massdrop Sales.
You know this is wrong, and that there is no warranty coverage for this situation.
The Vaporizer review forum fuckcombustion.com was important to you, and now the members and readers are all on alert to what you have done.
While I do not order from you all that often, I have had a change of heart and will not be doing business with you in the future.
I have also removed your logo and link from our websites at Vaporist.wordpress.com and at vaportrail.activeboard.com
To be quite frank with you, I am ashamed of you.

Hello Guys,

A question for people that are changing the bags of the Herbie by themselves :

Have you found a plastic / film / oven bag that doesn't make cracky sounds like the bag of the Volcano (or the Herbalaire ) ?

Plastic of the Herbie's bag is so great because it makes less sound, and when you have finished to use the bags, they don't make click/crick/crack sound during 15 mins......

Thanks !

They ( @VaporNation ) have an account here, and doubtless they are not pleased to read what I sent...
likely less happy about my posting what I sent them here.
If we all somehow understand the situation wrongly... they have every chance to respond publicly right here!
Silence speaks volumes.

i dont think what they are doing is a bad thing, either there stuck or they are trying to save consumers money, thats the way i look at it, and they say they will warrant the herbalizer, im assuming they will do it out of there own pockets?? (sending a new one to you as a replacement) im only looking at it as a business owner perspective. BUT if they dont honor the warranty, then we would have serious problems..
im just curious to know what terms and conditions did vapornation violate with herbalizer? the fact that they are selling it underpriced?

If you buy from vapornation and have an issue you could return to vapornation and they should take care of you. That is what it means to be authorized. If you buy from Massdrop and have a problem I guarantee Massdrop is going to tell you to contact Herbalizer directly. So in essence vapornation buys in bulk from herbalizer and sells those at a small profit to massdrop and both vapornation and massdrop avoid having to do any warranty returns which cost time and money. Herbalizer is stuck having to do warranty work on these units they already sold at a discount to vapornation when part of the agreement of being an authorized reseller means you will handle this.

Just by the fact the lowest massdrop is $600 that means herbalizer is selling them less than $600 to vapornation who in turn sells to massdrop for a bit more and herbalizer gets stuck having to do the same warranty work as a unit they sell for full price on their own website. Imagine what it costs to herbalizer to do warranty work. If they can push some of the customer communication and shipping/receiving to the retailer then they can sell to them at a discount so the retailer takes on the risk of having to deal with a return but thats how the retailer makes $$$ In a way Vapornation is stealing from herbalizer because they are getting their discount from herbalizer all while pushing the risk of doing warranty exchanges back to herbalizer via massdrop. I am sure there are signed contracts between vapornation and herbalizer stating what can and can't be done and I imagine that vapornation is breaking the agreement.

The other problem this creates is that us end users don't know whats going on and from our perspective we have an expensive vape from massdrop that we waited a month to get and golly gosh darnit the company better warranty it or I will be pissed and YELL at someone!!! One pissed off user then goes to forums and rants and raves about how the company won't honor their warranty blah blah blah which forces herbalizer to do the warranty and handle the customer communication and shipping/receiving that vapornation has a signed agreement to do because at the end of the day it is their companies name and reputation they have to protect.

Yes, they are under pricing them and that is in direct violation of their agreement. Just to give you guys some perspective, this is a huge problem in this market. Right now the vape market is made up of mostly small players because the big boys are still waiting for the legal mess to shake out. This means we have a lot of innovation being done by small companies that really need the capital. The easiest way to get this is to sell in volume to distributors who get a better discount. The problem is these distributors often go and dump the inventory to make a quick buck.

This becomes a huge problem when a distributor buys a lot of stock and can flood the market with cheaper than listed units. See the mflb and Solo for how this changes things forever. Once those units got on ebay for stupid cheap (mflb for $70 and the Solo for $125), the market pricing was busted. Those willing to abide the terms couldn't compete with the ebay pricing and had to lower prices. This in turn causes the manufacturer to have to lower their margins to give new retailers a wholesale price they can exist on.

The result is the profits are not realized by the innovators pushing the envelop in our favorite industry, and they will eventually leave for greener pastures if it continues. I think our boycotting distributors that contribute to this problem is one of the best market responses we could hope for.
