Discontinued The Hammer Vaporizer

I use the head of my nail to stir my herb, and to help dislodge it for dumping in my ABV jyar.

I have lined the inside of my hammer box with sticky bubble wrap - really cuts down on the rattles! (sticky holds it in place...bubbles are on the hammer side...)

As soon as I get my silicon tubing kit, Ed is getting my clean stem, and we are talkin'! :)

I received an email first thing this morning from @Head Tools that said from what I described it seemed like it was a simple tuning fix which a tech number that would walk me through doing this at home. I gave it call Dave answered and offered to have it sent back to be fixed if I wasn't comfortable tuning it myself or he would walk me through it. He also told me personally checks each unit before it was shipped to make sure it was tuned right. So he walked me through the process it was really simple and just took a few minutes and I used the nail tool to do it all. It solved the problem right away and taught me a little trick to the hammer. I asked a few general questions I had about the inside heating and how it maintains that clean air path? He explained how the lighter goes around the air path. I asked about fueling since I thought I should empty it before calling but I didn't need, so to test it I had to fuel it and he told me it should only take around 5 sec. I asked about screens on top of the herb to keep it from going in the air path. He told me that was an idea he had in the first stages of his proto types but decided it was doing much and didn't need it. The only other thing I learned was he said he would make minor tuning to his own during the different seasons due to temperature change.

Over all this was the right choice on first butane vape because once I got to use this hammer at its regular heat setting I could really control the heat and get the best quality hits. With the above average customer service, an awesome 420 sale and great product this might be one of my favorite vaporizers. Thank you @Head Tools and @The Hammer you guys are doing a great job.

Volute of Vapor
Some feedback about my new Hammer, I have difficulties to get an evenly brown abv, I start to get combustion before, I need more practice with flowers cause I prefer it with concentrates, it handle all of them very well.
It's a little bit noisy and you can smell the butane (not when you take a draw but all around you), and it seems that it needs a lot of butane (a lot more than my others flame-powered vapes) and the 30 seconds heating time is a little bit long (but this the price if you don't want to inhale butane...)

I like it but it will be an occasionnal vape I think, not my daily driver (but looking for a portable daily driver is a long quest...)

Glass Blower
Mine has touched down in the uk. I might not be able to get at it for another week or so but it's here!

Could someone let me know the outside diameter of the lock on stems? TIA

As soon as I get hammered you lot will be the first to know.

Interesting news from you.

I received two hammers yesterday and they were both tuned right, gg hammer team!

I just had to add circlips and silicone on the air intake to permit double stem method which brings ease of use.

double stem method is about isolating the air path with a second lock on stem in the air intake.

You put a circlip and silicone on the air intake on the device, then put a lock on stem on it: congrats you have done it!

You have now a way to test the heat of the device by blowing in this second stem (double stem) in your hand and completely isolate the airpath from butane fumes no matter position you handle the hammer (especially horizontally).

Nice tip!

I am loving the hammer, but the butane does shine through more than I anticipated. No problem outdoors, but inside is a bit of a headache.

Mine is a bit irregular at times, all morning it would fire up then reduce power significantly. To the point that on lower settings, the pilot light would not even stay lit. I purged it a couple times and hopefully am on my way- the last rounds were significantly more powerful.

It hits great though, and medicates efficiently.

One Suggestion to the dudes blowing all the custom stems- can we please get some stems that look like cigarettes? The stock stems in the car totally seem to give off the "I'm a crack-pipe" vibe:disgust:

Imagine, holding a cigarette-style stem in your mouth as you remove the Hammer from in front of your face. To the inexperienced, it would only look like some fancy cigarette lighter.... I would buy that stem.

I actually have one of the quartz ones... I should have thought to use it!

I tried it and it is feasible, but not nearly as good of vapor production as the wider stock stems. I also did not get a good fit and might have been taking in some butane.

I am getting lots of use out of my water piece... need to pick up more ISO:D
This sheldon piece is smooth, but it built up quite a bit of grime in just 2 days since its last bath.

I wanted to share the tuning process with everyone here so if your light isn't heating up right be very care when tuning it will cause damage to the unit and I bet it might even effect the warranty so this is just to help anyone who might need a slight tuning just be smart about it and take your time.

First part is hold the hammer so the big end is facing the roof and the lighter trigger is facing the floor.

Next turn the heating dial all the way up to the plus sign on the right.

If you look close there is a small gear right below the thumb pad.

What you want to do is carefully place the tip of the nail in the last notch to the left of the thumb pad.

Then gently push it right towards the thumb pad.

The gear will want to slid just a little notch then stop so you must use a soft touch to get it to move.

Finally test it and see how it turned out.

To get my hammer back in turn it only took about 3 notches to slid and now it works great. If you find that your lighter just isn't heating quite up to par you now know how to make minor adjustments to the tuning. PLEASE just be careful and don't over tune it can melt or even catch the hammer on fire.

Just received my Hammer + additional stems. Like everyone else mentioned, it is smaller than I expected (...that's what she said?).

Let's get the bad stuff out of the way first:

The stems are made from really thin glass - I'm not sure I've even seen anything made from glass that thin before (I guess lightbulbs...). The glass is roughly half as thin as the solo stems. I don't know why they are using glass this thin, considering there have already been an above average number of reports on broken stems, and these are supposedly a revision as well. I'm glad I bought an extra set on sale for $10, because I'm not sure $10 for one of these is a good price; it's almost like they're designed to break. If they're this thin then they should be cheaper; if they aren't cheap then the glass should be thicker, especially for a portable vape.

The stock stems seem to fit on the inside edge of the 14mm female gong connection I have (MFLB low profile adapter), but I added a bit of silicone tubing around the tip so it seals better and protects the glass on the stem. I was actually pretty nervous putting the silicone on the stem, worrying that it might shatter on me...

Draw restriction is there, but less than the solo, so probably isn't an issue for most people.

Despite writing a lot of words on the bad stuff, my first impressions are really positive. I don't mind the sound, it heats fast, no cords no batteries, and reminds me a lot of the ergonomics and feel of smoking a joint in a good way. I get pretty great hits even with minimal amounts of material.

Really? I find that the Hammer has near the amount of restriction of my LSV which IMO has the least out of all the vapes I've owned through h20 with wpa. I can use both the Hammer & LSV with my incycler functioning to perfection, although I need a Claisen adapter for the LSV. I am pretty confident the Cloud I previously owned would work with an adapter too. The Hammer however heats quickly and fills that donut with vapor without the need for realignment!

Edit - lol I'm baked you were talkin dry with stems, my bad...

Wow, is the restriction really coming from the stem? Do you notice a difference between using the adapter and the stem?

I have the LSV too, and that thing is basically wide open. If using the wpa means I can get something similar, I think I'll grow to like the Hammer even more.

Yeah it's a beast with the wpa! I barely use the stems, I imagine I will need them but I wish I got a colored stem. They appear to have the larger screen like the wpa. I use my wpa and this Helix attachment as a mouthpiece with both my enano and Hammer with very nice results!

I don't feel the Hammer has much restriction, also when its not loaded what restriction, it's obviously going to be restrictive if loaded, but still it's not restricted IMO but my herb for the Hammer isn't fine enough for the MF.
Nor do I find the stems thin, I have 4 I haven't used and have only broken stems when not using them. If they were thicker it'd be too heavy or thick to properly fit or it would look off.

I will say compared to the Versa its like inhaling through a thinner tube... that vape has too much airflow.

The stems are 1mm thick vs the solo's 1.5mm (for further comparison, new nano stems are around 2.75mm thick).
