hi vapebuddy 13,
I have had the unit for about a week so I am still playing around. I am trying more things everyday, varying grinds, amounts of herbs, temps, different inhalations, etc and I will do my best to update. I could go on for days about this vape but I am trying to hold back a little until I get a production unit. If you have something specifc in mind you would like me to try, let me know and I'll be happy to Try something out. I think the hits are fairly smooth, not as smooth as the Crafty or Mighty because those have cooling units and the Grasshopper does not but for such a short vapor path I expected it to be hotter than it is. Of course if you take a really huge long draw then it may be harsher but to avoid that I just take shorter draws, maybe 8-10 seconds slowly. Its a different style of vaping but I really like it so far because it's so fast, you can just take a hit the and there throughout the day or sit down and do the whole load. The first few hits on any vape are always the best and most flavorful and its no different with the Grasshopper. I think the vapor tastes great from the Grasshopper but it may not have as much flavor as the Crafty/ Mighty but it tastes pure and uunadultered. I get a cloud on setting 3.5 with the very first hit, and the taste is great! So far my perfected vape method with the Grasshopper is setting 3-4, finely ground herb ( I use a Homegrown Cali Crusher so it's pretty fine) but I have been experipenting with grinds and different amounts. I have been sticking with one temp at a time because I'm keeping track battery life but I like the idea of starting low and finishing HIGH... I have busted some herb up roughly with my fingers and thrown it in there and it effecily vapes it but more surfice area is always better in my expereince. Buzz also agreed that it didnt matter how much you pack in the chamber, you will get good results either way. The convection heat just does a great job, unlike conduction where your herb needs to be packed more for best results. I just click it on, take a hit, click off and take another hit to clear it and repeat. I will let you all know more when I have had more time with the unit. I'm glad to answer your questions, or at least I'll try to that is.
