Since I have nothing better to do I will speculate on how many total Grasshoppers have been ordered.

Based on some of the invoice numbers and dates it's clear that the numbers are sequential although they must not have started with 1 (I hope).

Backers
12500 Dec 5, 2013
13545 Dec. 14, 2013

Pre-Orders
15480 Dec. 24, 2014
16750 Feb. 12, 2015
17026 Feb. 18, 2015
17547 Mar. 20?, 2015

Out of the 3,053 backers, 2,744 Grasshoppers were ordered (some of the 3,053 are donations and international shipping, etc.).

From above we know that one of the last backers had invoice number 13545 on Dec 14, 2013 and one of the first pre-orders was 15480 on Dec 24, 2013. Let's say by the close of the IG campaign on Dec 15, 2013 they reached order number 13744. Subtract the 2,744 from that and the first order number was around 11000.

Given the most recent order number reported 17547, there are at least 3,803 additional Grasshoppers pre-ordered (not counting all the activity from late March to now).

Therefore there are at least 6,547 Grasshoppers waiting to hop into their happy homes.

To go a little further take the number of orders from Feb 12 - 18 and assume an average of 250 new pre-orders each week. That would add an additional 1,250 pre-ordered since late March for a total of 7,797.

Of course this doesn't account for multiple Grasshoppers on a single order or the add-on invoices of people upgrading to Ti or adding batteries, etc.

FWIW

That's simply order numbers. Remember that some people bought more than one grasshopper. And others have ordered accessories without a vaporizer (adding more items to another order). It's REALLY hard to speculate that far. Your number could be off by 100+%!

Order numbers as the new tea leaves. What's next? Adding up all the digits of your number and doing numerology analysis on it?

Don't get me wrong, keep all the vaped theories flowing!!:science::rockon: Some of you guys should form a freakin' think tank. My TV has been off for a week because this thread provides all the edutainment I could ever want.

Dear Trevor,

I along with the other denizens of FuckCombustion.com (no burn baby!) anxiously await our hoppers. By comparing notes, we've done some pattern detection analysis and believe to have cracked the codes that drive the order numbers. By doing this we have reasonable speculation about where we are in line, how many hoppers you're producing, as well as what color shirts you wear on update days.

Having taken printouts of what data we have, I've consulted a professional numerologist, who armed with my birth date, knows the optimal GH serial number that would ensure the best vaping experience for me as a spiritual being.

I don't expect you to send me a specific serial numbered GH. I'm sure you have other things to do. But if you could take my request into account, I'm assured a long happy life, in which I can purchase many more hoppers. My special number is 11. So if it can have an 11 in there would be awesome. If not, second best is 1+1, or 2.

Thanks for your consideration, I just wanted to see how do-able this is before I order.

August 15th sounds like a realistic date for them to hit stores and for GH to have stock waiting to ship for regular orders, hopefully by then they will have taken care of all the backers and the preorders.

Almost there! Well it sounds like it anyways? I am still waiting 'till you first-of-the-cliff-ers review it until I buy one. I am worried about how hot the mouthpiece will get. The silicone seems like a band-aid design wise.

I've been watching this thread for a week or two, and I couldn't agree more. Hell, I want to order a Grasshopper just to be part of it all.

No, no you do not. Trust me.

Actually, you're right. Stealth isn't important to me, and I'm thinking that is the Grasshopper's greatest attribute, so my current vaporizers will serve me just fine until I hear that the flavor rivals that of my Firefly.

I do have a touch of VAS, so there is a certain appeal, but I'll sit on my wallet a while longer.

I think the GH's proprietary 3D printed heater will surprise everyone. Those 5 second heatup times are pretty impressive to me.

I'm quite interested in fact on changing up my daily routine for a week to avoid "sessions" in favor of single hits as needed for 'maintenance'.

That's what I'm so excited about myself. I used to use a one-hitter exclusively when I combusted, as long as I was alone, and it was so efficient...I haven't been able to get that kind of experience with the vapes I have now...

My Lotus comes VERY close, I can start and finish a load in under 30 seconds. But it's not the most discrete vape on the market (speed makes up for stealth, but a loud hissing torch is hard to conceal IMO)

YES! The one thing I miss from combustion. "Session" vaping is such a positive spin on something that used to take a minute now taking a lot longer (for me, 15 minutes on my MFLB, down to 5-8 mintes w FM Mini). I think sessioning is a big barrier to entry for combusters, I do hope the Grasshopper is a game changer here.

You've got me interested in the Lotus now, I'm gonna have to creep it's page...I've been wanting a butane powered vape other than my vaporgenie for a while...

I hadn't given that any thought, as I'm currently rotating a Herbalizer, an Elevape Smart and a Firefly, all of which have quick heatup times, and are good as one-hitters or session vapes, IMHO. Good point though.

I should add that the Grasshopper's portability is a nice feature as well, and may supplant the oil cartridges I typically use with an ecig mod when out-and-about (Firefly is too heavy to travel in my pocket, and ESV battery life is too short). Since I have an ample supply of homegrown MMJ, it could save me some bucks. Hmmm....

Sometimes I like the sessioning. I don't mind it so much when I'm at home, but when I'm out, or at work, I just want to take a rip or two and put it all away then get back to my phone...

I recommend you check out the Hammer Pro, it will fit the bill nicely. Butane powered. It can do tasty subtle hits, extremely dense hits, and everything in between. It's easier to use and dial in than the Lotus is, IMO.
Check out some of videos @paytonpenn has posted about the Hammer

I am expecting the Grasshopper to be the battery powered equivalent of the Hammer, vapor quality wise, only more precise/easy.

I had actually already been considering the Hammer previously! It's mighty temptsome. Seems more stealthy than the Lotus, but the Lotus is so interesting looking...
