Yeah, unimpressed. Someone from Grasshopper responded on reddit that they made a low temp vaping video because people wanted to see it and that's why it looks like this.

I can understand that. They definitely are using a lower temp after examining that ABV. Id like to see some dark brown coffee style stuff and see what kind of clouds that produces.

it would be great from their part to give out test units to seasoned veterans of the forum in order to get a reliable testimony for the rest of us. don't get me wrong, i like the grazenhopen, but a verdict from let's say Vitolo would make it a lot easier for me to part with my 99 dollars and secure more backers

Pretty sure people requested that here and thats why they recorded a low temp vid with smaller vapor clouds, looking at both the first vid and the new one it seems capable of both giant clouds and mini MFLB ones. I could be wrong though, I am hoping for the best though, I love the build on this pen and hope they do right by it.
I think they are being truthful.
Btw Zenpen it still says you guys are doing a Kickstarter in the first post, should be chnaged to Indiegogo right? Just letting you guys know.

Yeah higher temp settng and longer draw seems like it pulls out a lot of vapors.

Can't wait to see the Indiegogo campaign launch, I'll definitely be backing, especially if it preforms as well as it appears in the videos.
I'd definitely second the notion of liking to see a video of a full vapor session and seeing some reviews from well known members here. Nice looking product tho guys

I'm sure I read in their latest update somewhere that if they don't raise their $100,000 goal, then all contributors will receive a refund anyhow - so nothing to lose really if you fancy taking the plunge on this one!
Yeah heres what it said in the email I got.
"None of this is possible without your help. We must reach our huge goal of $100,000 before we can make this happen. If we don't reach our goal everyone gets a refund and goes home without a Grasshopper. With such a strong and supportive community we know that we can do it."
So pretty much no lose in funding it if it by chance fails, hopefully it does well.

The vid is not exactly low temp. On reddit, Trevor said that this setting was 70%. Trevor also said that they would make a video of the lowest setting so we can see how fast it would heat up.
I'd like to see a detailed breakdown of components in addition to longer videos displaying more varied usage patterns; most importantly, to me, demonstration of the Grasshopper's extraction capabilities on max power. I exclusively use butane powered portables as I require the maximum sub-combustion extraction for my needs, though I would quite like a battery powered unit in the Grasshopper's form that meets my needs.
With the USB charging, form, all-steel construction, (Allegedly) true convection heating, real time temperature monitoring and control, and seeming lack of stupid, flimsy bits the Grasshopper appears to be the first electric portable that completes my personal check list.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence however; I want to see this product come to fruition and achieve everything that has been promised, and for the level of funding being sought this is going to have to be a very thorough, detailed and convincing campaign page.

I foresee this being a mostly convection with some conduction vape. I wonder how hot the herb chamber walls get, if they cool off rapidly, etc. I agree that sending out some units to us FCers would be an appreciated gesture, there's a video by the manufacturer and then there's a video by one of us

I'm not vitolo, but I think by now I'm also a trusted membertalked to them months ago concerning a review on my blog and they've told me that they are interested once the hopper is available!

That certainly looks like convection duff to me. The stealth factor for this one will be tops in the industry for flowers only. If I were beta testing it, my concerns would probably be the slow draw speed required to not overwhelm the unit and what I bet will be harsher vapor on the higher settings. The Pinnacle Pro has a similarly short vapor path after the herb and the resulting vapor was a little harsh because of it. A water tool or tubing on the end makes it smoother. I will be amazed if this device doesn't suffer from the same physics. But the Pinnacle is still a very enjoyable unit, so this will probably be, too.

"Don't mind me, just milking some vapor out of this glass tube connected to my pen." IMO this is one of the few vapes that is pointless if you need to add water filtration. I love water filtration and use it whenever possible, but the only advantage to this vape over other portables is the stealth factor. Thats ruined the second you connect it to a piece of glass.

This looks like it would appeal to the low tolerance MFLB loving crowd. For me though, I just don't see this product filling in any gaps in my vaping needs. The tiny size means battery life will not good enough for my needs. a 14500 battery which is around the same size is only 600-700mah, if I needed several loads to medicate, how many times could I medicate before needing recharge? But I may be biased...I just find oil vapes make a lot more sense when it comes to portables.

My thoughts exactly. Keep in mind the purpose of the Grasshopper. It is designed to be stealthy. When vapes get smaller, the airpath gets shorter and the vapor will be harsher. We can't have it all. The GH will fill a huge hole in the market for what it is, but it won't be the holy grail of vapes that satisfies every demand.

Definitely. I can see myself getting one, but I can't see myself hooking it up to water. If I am going to bust out the water filtration I'm going to bust out a more powerful vape as well.
However for some situations I'd love this thing if the reviews are favorable. Definitely don't want to be an early adopter though. I don't need it, I just want to believe it works well. If some of my FC friends I know and respect like it, then I'm so in!

What do you disagree about? I agree with what you said that if it is working well, it will sell like crazy and I'll even pick one up for stealth. That being said stealth + water tool = not stealth.
MFLB can be found new for $70 or so. The oil pens can all be made dirt cheap. The lotus + vapman might be stealth depending on your definition, including the $35 vaporgenie coil.
Don't get me wrong I think this is VERY stealthy, but I have no idea what you are disagreeing with since we seem to be on the same page.
