ataxian, your post makes me feels like I'm missing an old insider joke. How can anyone comment on flavor without having tried the grassenhoppen first?

ZenPen how about some videos of people trying out the prototype?

I hope these people pull it off.

However I got burnt by so many companies making all these claims?
Not knowing any better I opened my wallet!

I suspect the taste is like a TV dinner made in the 60's?

it is aimed at being a convection vape so it has that going for it, a short path for the vapor might help too, but only the engineers or anyone that's ahas tried a prototype will know about the flavor.

To many in fact, but this is all convection (originally conduction) and the air path is SS the heating element is no longer brass possibly ceramic. Not to many pens or any in fact that I know of that work well enough to call a vaporizer, maybe an electric pipe lol lol they do well vaping the plastic in the design but nothing else, this hopefully gets it right and actually works and puts an end to the ecig wannabe herb pens, I can understand the pens for oils and concentrates but for herbs they just dont cut it. I could be wrong but Iam hoping the short air path keeps a clean flavor profile with less in the way for the vapor to stick to and get into your lungs maybe less flavor loss, maybe more heat is felt ,not sure this is all speculation at this point.

I wonder if they could make glass sleeves that fit into the bowl for those that like all glass air path?

FWIW, the Evolution with the low resistance works on an Ultra supply. I mean, you get a load's-worth of use per battery and it's kinda finicky, but that's the closest we've gotten to it (and convection no less).

Quick edit: they stated on reddit that it will have a lifetime warranty and that battery replacement should be around $5.

Instead of nickel and diming our customers, we just want to make them extremely satisfied so that vaporizers can become more widespread. We don't think vapor is going to be a niche market anymore, forget trying to make big bucks on a 100k customers, we want to sell 1 million+ vapes at a reasonable price. The only way we can do that is by listening to everything you guys tell us to make the best possible vape and being a company people want to deal with.

in the comments on the blog they stated, that a wp adapter is a goal for the future, not for the release campaign, though. in the meantime somebody will certainly come up with a diy solution. :) people managed to hook up many vaporizers to a water pipe without them havinig a special adapter.

Some silicone tubing and it will be ready to milk glass... ;)

Is there any chance that people outside the company will be able to try and share their experience with the Grasshopper before/during the campaign?

If this thing works as advertised it's the first portable vaporizer I've seen that I think I'd replace my GVG with, but pen vapes in general do not have a fantastic history.

0.5 grams in a load is pretty big, which is great.

I was wondering if they're thinking about making a "party" chamber/front end.

Wanna revolutionize vaporization? 1 GRAM CHAMBER! WooooOO! Everyone gets a hit or two!

Can't help but thinking about the Pax's large chamber tasting done for most of it's abundant load. It's one of the features that kept the Pax from being my number one portable vape. Neither my two, three, nor four at this point.
If the final "GraZenhopPen" sports a large chamber, I hope it has accommodations for smaller loads as well.
..or crazy good heat management and extraction efficiency!

Do chamber sizes affect taste and vapor quality? Sorry, I haven't used many vapes, so my conception of chamber sizes isn't very broad.

I'm also thinking that the bud might be cooking more than you think it is or want it to due the conduction style. Just a hypothesis.

Honestly I am so looking forward to this, I have been trying to find a pen vaporizer for herbs since well I have discovered vaporizers, driving myself crazy, decided on a Puffit or Davinchi but now that I am seeing a vid of a pen style vaporizer working I am just gonna wait it out and get this, it looks really well built and seems to vaporize well in that video on the homepage.

Edit: Holy **** your charging and cleaning system on this pen is probably the smartest thing I have seen in a vaporizer, thank you, I hate cleaning vaporizers and this looks superb!

Have to get in on that indiegogo when I have the funds(Soon hopefully, currently moving, money is super tight.)

99 dollars seems like a steal.
