I ordered an Early Bird within minutes of their campaign starting, then several days (weeks?) later I added the colored Ti unit. Hopefully (surely!) I won't have to wait till my colored Ti unit is ready to get my Early Bird unit.
At this point I'd probably cash in the WPA I ordered for some spare batteries.
Perhaps I should inquire with Trevor about these things...

We hope you’ve all had a great holiday season! We’ve been working to complete and test production grasshoppers and coordinate with our manufacturers on logistics. You may have seen some of the new parts that arrived in time for our mid-December updates.
The last batch of parts to come in before the new year included much of what we were waiting for. The Body, Front End, Cone, Chamber, Forward Board Mount and Extension have all arrived. We got to work checking the dimensions and tolerances. Things are looking good.
The Cone helps manage the thermal load within the Grasshopper.
The Forward Board Mount also came out well. This is the battery contact and mounting bracket for the front PCB.
This shows the Extension, Forward Board Mount and Front PCB in the steps of assembly.
The Front End had one small problem involving the number of threads on the inside. This error causes a small seam between the Front End and the Body which you can see in the picture above.
Leather Sleeves
With these parts in, we were able to assemble what will essentially be the production Grasshopper. The test video released last month shows one of the new Grasshoppers in action. While we are very pleased with the results thus far, there are a few small tweaks that need to be made. The Front End needs to have the number of internal threads increased, the finish on the Back End does not match the Body, and the charger needs a few adjustments.
With so much of the Grasshopper ready right now, many of you are wondering when you will be getting yours. We are working in small batches, so shipping will begin slowly and pick up speed as things get rolling. We could start shipping almost immediately, but we need to make those few small changes first. We’re almost there.
Be sure to check the last 2 updates if you missed them. Another update will be coming on the 15th.

Things sound pretty good for the first update of 2105! They seem really dedicated to getting it just right before actually shipping out. It sounds like mostly cosmetic things to tweak at this point.

Sounds soon, not an exact date but still....
Looks like the cone would fit to me.
Always go by the time frame the people making it are in, not your own :-P.

I suspect it goes inside the chanber and creates an air gap between the SS front end and the interioir of the herb chamber to stop heat transfer. This is of course speculation on my part!

Stellar update! I really dig how they are putting such detail into all of this. I would suspect they have many leather-bound books and their factory smells of rich mahogany...

Soon, yeah, soon. Nothing stellar about this update, other than yet another set of excuses. Trevor's got a great little scam going here... Post some photos and promise it'll be soon every other week - and then rake in more dollars on "pre-orders", giving the gravy train a new round of life.
