Sure, it's good to be informed and do your research.
But I can't accept the idea that when company says something will ship in a month, the buyer is supposed to realize that that is BS and it could be 2,3 months or longer...

Thats fair and ideally you are right. And maybe if you were running the company instead of Trevor/Matt, you would be completely honest/realistic in conveying shipping expectations, even if that meant that GHL wouldn't get enough pre-orders to fund the business and would go broke / have to shut it all down before a single unit shipped. At least that's what I think you are saying when you say "I can't accept the idea..."

I personally subscribe to the saying, "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." Next time a similar buying situation comes up, you will either make your decision based on what the company is "supposed to do" or you will make a decision based on what they are likely to do.

But I agree with your other point that a non-FCer just stumbling onto the site taking pre-orders is more likely to be fooled. Still, the same principles apply.

To answer your question, maybe...maybe not. I found the gh and this site because I kept searching for best portable vapes (or something similar). Fuck Combustion kept appearing in my searches so I finally checked it out. It also led me to the Evoke and I was really excited about that one too. But I saw and read enough to control my VAS for that one. We'll see if that changes once that one comes to market.

When I say "I can't accept the idea..." I'm saying that it's sounding like people are making it seem like anyone who preorders and accepts the shipping estimate given by GHL is foolish because they should have known better.

And if their business plan hinges on being dishonest or going out of business, fuck them and their crappy startup.

Can’t speak for other pre-orderers but when I pre-ordered in early Feb, I was new to it but then did my homework and knew I couldn’t depend on seeing it in May. Of course that didn’t stop me from hoping and consequently being disappointed by the delays, but I guess it’s my continued enthusiasm about the device, combined with my desire to see this fledgling start-up survive against all odds versus its big corporate competitors, that fuels my continued patience. @Mr. Me2[/USER] best mirrored my views in regards to GHL's communications. I would just add that given the warranty and the fact that pre-orderers who can no longer wait can easily get a full refund, there’s really no risk for a pre-orderer other than if the company went under. Which is why I cringe every time someone reports a hot back-end… is that issue not resolved yet? That’s all that concerns me, all else is good and whenever I finally get to feast my eyes on my very own hopper, will be a merry day indeed. Assuming it works

It's good when ordering this vaporizer to have a realistic outlook. If I ordered one now it might be 6 - 8 months before i receive my unit but that is speculation. I choose to wait. I don't have a lot of patients like many of you have.

I don't want to become part of any angry mob, if it comes to that. Only happy thoughts about this vaporizer I hope.

@zymos my position is not all preorders, just the gh, specifically wrt their overall history. I took the time to read every page of all three threads here on fc, every update and r/vaporents and eventually r/ghv.. equipped with those tools, narrative, and irl observations (in not having shipped to non reviewers till June) I have been able to filter their updates and not get my expectations locked into the expected ship date because it had for two years meant very very little, save for 550 consumers. This is me I research before I purchase, which is an exception not a rule so I would be remissed if I applied my thoroughness to everyone.. but if you don't inform yourself, I find it hard to blame others. Yet we can lay this at hl feet as no one else is responsible for the dates they push.. I guess people are tired. I just ignore the date and check my mail hoping for that address confirmation. @500 units a month at least barring any new machining delays (haha!) Were looking at 8 months to catch up to today's orders, so that's where I'm at.

I have been thinking about this for a while but I have tried to be so nice and supportive of them. I don't want to just shoot an e-mail being like "Yo where's my unit like you said" type of deal. That said, I'm 3 days before you

What I'm hoping is that the next SS batch that's sent out will fulfill a large amount of the orders from November. Currently it seems they're up to about the 17th or so, but then of course we are also having the "mix up" in shipments, which is understandably dependent on what they have in stock, and then are able to produce. It's amazing to hear that there's about 600 (by now hopefully ) hoppers that have been shipped. That's through 3 days of backer orders!

I'm just so impressed with these guys and their progress. I can't wait to have the unit in my love and care.
