Sure, it's good to be informed and do your research.
But I can't accept the idea that when company says something will ship in a month, the buyer is supposed to realize that that is BS and it could be 2,3 months or longer...
Thats fair and ideally you are right. And maybe if you were running the company instead of Trevor/Matt, you would be completely honest/realistic in conveying shipping expectations, even if that meant that GHL wouldn't get enough pre-orders to fund the business and would go broke / have to shut it all down before a single unit shipped. At least that's what I think you are saying when you say "I can't accept the idea..."
I personally subscribe to the saying, "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." Next time a similar buying situation comes up, you will either make your decision based on what the company is "supposed to do" or you will make a decision based on what they are likely to do.
But I agree with your other point that a non-FCer just stumbling onto the site taking pre-orders is more likely to be fooled. Still, the same principles apply.
