I also often hit next to a spot light. In the beginning, I couldn't really feel any vapor so I would exhale next to that light to confirm I was getting some.

Howdy Firefly enthusiasts!

I ordered my own Firefly last week and am totally stoked! I have little doubt the Firefly is the best portable vaporizer to date. I've used the Pax which is awesome but I didn't like the amount of cleaning and maintainence required. I also didn't like that the combustion chamber couldn't be viewed without opening the chamber up. It provided really tasty and effective vapes, but the experience was less than elegant.

Anyway, I can hardly wait for my new grey Firefly to arrive next week!

Thanks! I've read every post here and if others experience is any indication, I'll be as happy with my Firefly as a dragonfly can be (and dragonflies love fireflies).

Who will be using their Firefly to roast up some bowls during Superbowl XLVIII?

So I'm barely using the heater button half as much as I did the first few weeks. It's all about timing + draw speed. My ff gets about half as dirty as it did the first few weeks as well. I attribute that to the hand grind and mastering the slow draw. I'm powering the vaporizer with my perfect draw 80% with only 20% of the "work" coming from the heating element. Naturally this means the battery life is markedly better as well. It really is intuitive like an iPhone, not in the way that you can pick up an iPhone for the first time and know how to use it right away, I'm saying in the way that after you spend some time with the ff you feel connected to it on a subconscious level. Its like my draw changes as the material changes, on it's own. And I can pick up a fresh, un-hit bowl and get a big cloud first hit

Edited to add tip:

As soon as you feel vapor on throat, take finger off button and slow your draw the slightest bit, you will feel increased vapor and can easily fill your whole lung capacity without initially holding the button for more than 5 seconds

Figured it out yet? I too want to see the dual color... I'm tempted to buy the red lid for my gray one. Although, I have to say, the gray is the way to go... classy and still stealthy. I feel like the silver and red ones stand out too much and could get annoying after a while. Everyone with a red one, still loving theirs?

My technique is slightly different from yours, but I couldn't agree more that it becomes very much intuitive and easy once you spend some time with it.
Now I can play video games or casually hit it on the fly. I know how to get it warmed up, how I like to attack the draw speed and you can kinda find the sweet spot for temp.
I don't spend much time concentrating on it anymore, I can just feel it.

So last weekend I went to the ff site to check out getting a second power adapter, and the shipping wasn't worked out for my location (cheapest option was over $50). So I sent them an inquiry and after I didn't hear back by Tuesday night I poked around on eBay a bit.

This one ticked all the right boxes spec-wise, except the seller didn't give a tip size:


I bought it anyways, and I got lucky on the size. The external diameter is ~3.5 mm.
It seems to work perfectly with the charger, I haven't plugged the ff into it yet.
Unfortunately, I don't know what it was originally made for and the seller has no more of them!

hi just wanted to share a new FF game i made up these past few days. i load a full battery and then i drain it. see how many loads i can get. usually like 5 or 6 sessions, average 40 or so tokes. by the time i drain the battery my other battery is charged and i rinse and repeat. sometimes i keep track peer2peer blind side reviewd style. other times i forget. so the game is see how many battery drains you can go through before you fall asleep. i've pushed myself like a south korean internet addict. good night.

Interesting. I see it can handle 240V. Might be a work-around for those of us in the relevant parts of the world. Not sure what is the hold-up for Firefly in getting their 240V version out. I would assume they are trying to find a wall-sort like this one.

Hi all, I'm a recent FF owner, mainly due to this discussion, so thanks guys! 4 days in, and I keep enjoying this thing more and more. I definitely need another battery, I'm going through multiple battery charges a day.

The glass porthole is getting pretty gunky and gross with resin, but I just keep scraping it off with the toothpick and smearing it back on the top of the herb, like butter on rice.

The red color reminds me of those old children's wagons, and I'm definitely developing an emotional connection/nostalgia with it. I can't imagine it being any other color. For those choosing a color, yes, public use is the only issue. Yesterday I was using it in a busy parking lot while sitting in my car during the day, and felt like the red color was an attention-getting disadvantage at that particular moment. But that's the first time I've regretted the color at all, and like I said, the red gives it a lot of personality.

I think the design of the lid/pathway is amazing as well, this thing is built to last. I'd guess that the most fragile piece is the heating element or the battery (replaceable). It wouldn't shock me to be still using this in 10 years, which you certainly can't say about most over portable vapes.

Hey, they wouldn't give us a five year warranty if they didn't think the FF was very resilient! Personally, I think the silicon seal on the lid is probably the most likely thing to fail in the warranty period (some have already had issues, but it's been rare). I guess we'll see over time, but so far, compared to other recent vape rollouts, FF problems have been few and far between.

As to that buildup on the port window, you can use iso on it, in fact you'll need to in order to really clean it. Use a cotton swab and wipe gently...sideways pressure on the glass window can force the tiny round gasket on the outside to become displaced, and that's a pain. You can re-seat it, but you'll need some patience, and a Torx 5 micro-screwdriver bit.

I second tufftitty's sentiment. And be careful with this thing, it's dangerous. As you refine your technique the FF becomes WAY more efficient, and it can really sneak up on you. Last night, at a Super Bowl party full of cops, I tried the less (heat) is more method, and my goodness, my normal 4 draws just knocked me on my ass. It made for an... interesting evening. It's never fun being baked and trying to maintain, but imagine doing so in front of a gaggle of five-o! Nevertheless, this thing is really growing on me!

I'm going to try the less is more approach. Reason being is that full bowls for me whatever the grind seems to heat unevenly.

I am totally perplexed by those that can get so many tokes. I'm getting about 6 robust rips and the material is totally cashed/dark brown/little combustion with a full bowl you see in the pic.

I'll try a small layer/load and see if that "forces me" to approach this more lightly and conservatively.
