My rma is 24 and that's for the lid only. Not all rerurns are complete units making for a more impressive defect rate.I understand that they have sold over 2000 of these units. 30 returns is about 1% defect rate. That is outstanding.
Yea, I was thinking more along these lines. I mean, as long as it is probably empty at the time, it should be fine.
I received my Firefly earlier today and I've run a few bowls through it now. Should it require a faster draw to avoid charring? Because mine does. I think SliM said somewhere in this thread that he had to speed his draw up from what he had anticipated. I'm thinking I'm discovering the same thing. My first two bowls both charred a bit. Then my third bowl I pulled faster and WOW. Smooth, flavorful clouds of vapor. 7 or 8 rips later and I was as medicated as I'd hope to be off the .15g I used - a rarity in a portable. I'm prepared to fall in love. A few more bowls like the last and I'm sure I will.
I've dropped my Pax numerous times. I kicked my Davinci once. I dropped it then kicked it on accident.Ha, I think I meant to put the "probably" somewhere else. I'm not high, I swear. And that's true mitchgo, though it is very easily used for tobacco as well. Maybe I'll just have to carry some tobacco with me, even though I've never smoked a day in my life. That'll throw them! But just out of curiosity, what would be a couple examples of "drop on the ground" quality vapes?
Agree +100%. I'm using back ups now. No where near the taste, not even close. My little FF is at the doctors, I'm jonesen.I am really happy I got the extra batteries and such. It helped me get through today easier. I am still really enjoying this vaporizer. It might just be the smoothest dry vapor I have had in a portable to date.
I think that means a disposable one, something you wouldn't be too devastated over losing it. For it's price, the FF doesn't fit the category.Ha, I think I meant to put the "probably" somewhere else. I agree, that's how I took it, I'm just curious what some examples might be. A Pax is still pricey enough that I wouldn't call it disposable. Hopefully the Grasshopper will fit that bill, and of course no one would bat an eye if they saw it.

Yea I was really expecting the MFLB or the PAX type draw where you are almost directing the vapor into your mouth by creating the slightest bit of suction. I think from what I read I was expecting to have to draw really slowly, so the first couple of times I got charring as well. I found the draw is much closer to a hitting a pipe then it is to hitting a vaporizer. I think one of the worst things you can do during your session is "pre-heat" the oven without drawing through the device... I think it is just a waste of the battery. When you get you hit pattern down you can really prolong the battery. I find I load about .2 or so per session and don't get any charring. I pack it down just enough to fit in that amount. Then on the first draw I do a slightly stronger puff to loosen the load in the bowl and fluff it up some. This increased the airflow between the material and reduces the charring effect.
Cera has horrible heat issues. If you aren't careful you could burn your lips on the mouthpiece. It is not really a good portable because if you drop it most likely something is gonna break. As far as a loose leaf vape some people use is for that everyday. For me the cera loose leaf cart was not too much better than sucking on a potato — a lot off sucking work with very little reward. The Firefly has a restrictive airflow too but feels and produces by far better than the Cera. My Cera never produced the kind of results the Firefly produces. The Firefly smokes the Cera 100% as a loose leaf vaporizer.
As far as concentrates go in the Cera some people like it but you keep stuffing concentrates down a hot hole with porous ceramic disks that absorb and vape off the concentrate. The problem is the burnt concentrate carbon build-up inside the essential oil cart happens even if you clean it. All that oil is never going to come out — cleaning is useless at a point. So it builds up over time into a big burnt carbon glob. For concentrates maybe the Maud-Dib vaporizer will be better for a portable solution? This device does not suffer from the carbon build-up problem the Cera EO cart does.
The Cera is fatally flawed in many, many, ways with the worst flaw being heat build-up and retention within the device. It is no joke because you can blister your skin on a hot Cera mouthpiece.
For me it is the Firefly for loose leaf. The best vape to date for connoisseurs.
First I loaded it:
Did that just now... I have to admit I am kind of surprised it came out to .2 exactly.
