The new batteries are killer. This thing has way more power. It glows red in two seconds as
opposed to the seven seconds before. Did any else ntoce an improvement in performance with these new batteries?

I think everyone has! :nod::nod::tup:

I get about 2x the number of hits from the new batteries.

the new battery transformed my Firefly, it is like a new vape tbh

I had four of the 750 mah batteries (2 FFs) and generally needed to swap them out each time I used the FF. Each of my sessions is 2-3 hits. I have the external charger. I was constantly seeing the "red light", constantly charging and swapping batteries. Getting maybe 3-4 hits out of each battery, if I was lucky.

I bought 3 of the new 770 mah batteries as soon as I saw them come up on the Firefly site.

I made it through the whole weekend without seeing a red light, and still haven't needed to charge.

Dramatic improvement. I feel like my Fireflies are what they used to be again!

My og 750's are ~1.5 years old and still going strong

There were definitely two gens of the 750s...the first ones from 2013 and early 2014....then that second gen from fall 2014. First gens were pretty decent (I have a couple that still work pretty well). That second gen of the 750s were bad enough to be classified "defective" IMO. They basically never held a full charge, even when brand new.

I was unlucky enough to buy two of those puppies. Luckily FF was nice enough to replace them for me. (Because, of course, they are awesome.)

I bought mine July 2014, and by August I was getting one or two bowls before the red light came on...

The fact that this is still a topic is bad for Firefly. They should of recalled all 750 battery. All of them. IMO.

I bought my first Firefly in February 2014. Bought a second one, along with a spare battery and external charger, in March 2014. The second unit I bought failed and was replaced in November 2014, so I received a fourth battery in November 2014.

None of the four 750 mAH batteries I have hold much of a charge anymore, including the "first gen" ones from early 2014.

I was in the habit of charging them frequently (after 1 or two sessions) and leaving them in the charger for extended periods of time (often as long as a whole day). I wonder if this pattern of use/charging led to their early demise.

With my new batteries I will try to deplete them fully before charging, and remove them from the charger as soon as they're fully charged.

Hopefully this will lead to longer life :)

This is fine

This not so much

No need to deplete fully with this type of battery, the things to avoid are leaving them fully charged (on the charger or off it) or empty for extended periods of time, for storage what I do is fully charge then have a bowl, this IMO keep the battery in the safe zone, things like how much they are used will also effect battery life as they will degrade with use over time.

Thanks for the tips! You've got me thinking more about how to treat my new 770 mAH batteries. I've left one of them fully charged in my drawer. Will go home tonight and use it for one session before putting it back in the drawer. I will also not hesitate to recharge my batteries before I see the red light (just remove them once they are fully charged).

Hello! I am considering the Firefly. Hear that? (Mull, mull, mull,) That is the sound of me mulling...
All of the battery talk is freaking me out. If you order a FF today, will it come with the new and improved battery? Are the folks at FF releasing a new model in the next 6 months? Should I wait? Do I ask a lot of questions? Thank you learned ones...

All of the above. The taste is amazing and the vapor is top notch. I'll be posting a review of it in the next couple of weeks after a full assessment. What I will tell you right now is that you wouldn't regret it if you bought it. Amazing device.

Hit or miss. Got a replacement FF last week that came with the old battery. FF appear to have limited control over this inventory...it seems that some regional warehouses are still burning off old stock.

There IS a new FF coming. Six months? No one will tell me specifically. Smart money is on the fall, perhaps December.

Hello, I am a MMJ patient in AZ. I recently purchased the Firefly and fear I may have made an expensive mistake. I have been using a Magic Flight Launch Box for about a year and wanted to upgrade. My problem is this: I use very small amounts of MMJ (don't make fun please) to medicate with several times a day. When I put the same small amount in the Firefly as I do in the mflb I get nothing in terms of results from the firefly. Where as from the mflb I could get taste and small clouds. My material is coarse but I only fill the firefly bowl perhaps 20% of the way. I have many strains that I use throughout the day and for me to fill the firefly bowl all the way would be a huge waste of MMJ for my lifestyle. Is my lack of packing a full bowl the reason I am getting no results? By the way, I have tried preheating any where from 5-15 seconds, drawing incredibly slowly (even slower than with the mflb), and draws lasting 10-15 seconds. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this was very expensive for me. Thanks you very much.

Welcome to FC, Cochise! (That word always reminds me of the Cheers episode...."don't say COCHISE to this dog..." sorry, I digress...)

Sorry to hear you are having FF issues...like you, I get less-than-great results from a small amount of material in the FF. I always pack a very dense bowl, and this is the way I get great vapor. Before continuing, it's worth asking: are you sure you aren't getting results? You may not get clouds, but if your material is getting darker, and you are getting medicinal effects, don't worry about the visible vapor. But I'm assuming that's not the case since you bothered to post about this, so....

Here's a couple of random suggestions that may help you.

1. Can you pack a dense bowl of whatever strain, take a few hits, and dump out the remainder? Then, when you change strains later in the day, do the same thing. Use the un-vaped material for tomorrow or the next time you need to hit that strain. IE fill the bowl as much as possible, use what you want, dump out, and continue with that partially-vaped material the next day.

2. Try using a top screen. Put a half inch screen on top of the material. This will raise the heat by adding metal, and by adding more mass that can hold heat.

3. Try an FF concentrate pad. You can even try two....one on the bottom of the bowl, put material on top, then another pad on top. All that added material will generate and hold more heat and likely give you better results.

If none of those work for you, let us know, I'm sure among all of us here we can come up with other suggestions. I'll try to think of some other ideas as well. Don't worry, one way or another we will get you vaping happy with your FF.

cochise, sorry to hear you are having issues and poor results. When you place your 'material' in the bowl is it getting heated to the proper temperature for vaporizing to take place? Are you getting the same results(or lack of positive results)when using different 'materials' through the course of the day? Also as a thought get a grinder to make your material finer…..this may solve your issues!!!

Take care…..Frodo

are you sure the bowl is heating up properly? It should glow orangish red. Also, it's important not to pulse the heat button but just to hold it down for a few seconds for heat up and continue holding it down as you draw.

@mitchgo61 you said: "There IS a new FF coming. Six months? No one will tell me specifically. Smart money is on the fall, perhaps December."? Woo Hooo! I think I will wait it out. Improvements? New battery? Herb cover Wifi? Beer opener?
