Pay no mind to those voices in my head
Based on recommendations on this forum, I ordered Iolite screens. But I made the mistake of ordering direct from Iolite (an Irish company) it's been two weeks since they shipped via DSL. Does anyone have experience ordering from this site? How long does it take?

What changes do you want in a FF2?

A nicer button press. It's the vape equivalent of the limp handshake.

On a somewhat related topic where can I buy a new 770 battery? I've checked the official website which didn't have it, and vapor nation which was out of stock. My old battery is throwing a red light, fully charged, if left unused for a short while.

Long story. First gen batteries were good, but not great. FF had relationship issues with the manufacturer...don't know the details, but they ended up delivering a lousy product on the second run, last summer and fall. FF cut the cord, found a new manufacturer, and now the batts are better than ever. If you didn't get a 770 with your new FF, call them and they will send you one.

Hello,
I am new to this Forum.
I bought a Firefly a couple of weeks ago (european Version). I love it, but the battery is bad.
After 10-12 (long) pulls, it has to be recharged. What is "a 770"?
Do I have to contact Firefly? Did you make good experiences with their support?
Here, they say that I made an error using the FF the first time, and not decharging it completely after the first full charge. Did I really damage the battery?
Thank you for any feedback.

See if your battery says "770 mah" on the label. If it says "750" instead, that's an old battery and possibly defective. If you bought from FF, call or email them describing your issue. They should send you a new battery. If you bought from another retailer, you can still call FF directly...as long as your FF is legitimate, they will honor it and replace your battery.

No, you didn't damage the battery. You shouldn't have to discharge it fully after the first charge.

Contact FF if you have the old 750 battery. They will take good care of you. Good luck and please let us know what happens.

And speaking of the batteries... Dunno why the new ones aren't on the site. They have them, they've been shipping them out. Give em a call and you might even get them to send you a free one, provided your old one is part of last fall's bad batch.

Can you use the firefly plugged in?

Thank you. Unfortunately, I have a 770. However, I am trying if Firefly can help me and send me a new battery. I am surprised to hear about 7 bowls per battery...

A little expectations-management is probably in order here. "7 bowls" is a subjective and non-quantifiable metric...everyone puts different amounts in the bowl and to some users three hits is a "bowl" whereas for me, I cram like .15 grams in the bowl and get upwards of 30 hits in one full load. So no, I don't get 7 bowls per charge on the new 770s. However, I get about 2x or more the usage out of the new batteries vs. the bad batch from last autumn. I used to get at most 15 hits from a fresh full charge of the 750 batteries...the new ones consistently deliver 25-30 long, nearly-30-second hits. If, like most users, your hits are varied length, you may find yourself getting closer to an average of 40 hits per full charge. (If you're also someone who uses just enough herb to get 4 hits per bowl, there's your "7 bowls per charge" right there.)

I posted my new/old battery comps here, a few pages back: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-firefly-vaporizer.11365/page-199#post-744681

They do. I'm loving the heck out of the pads!

I have a feeling the pads raise the heat enough in the bowl to allow the FF to vape concentrates successfully. Because otherwise, you'd think the FF was a bit on the low-temp side for this task. (I'm not a concentrate guy but I'm glad to hear they are working!)

It's a bit sad how excited I am for the Firefly2 :) I love my OG Firefly, and can't wait to see whats next!

I'm trying not to think about it. :p

Thank you for the clarification. 25-30 long hits are really much more than my max. 10-12 (long) hits I am getting from my "770". There must be a Problem there. Also, your Feedback that I did not damage the battery by not discharging it completely the first time is precious. My store tried to convince me that this was my responsibility to have "mininimized" the battery. I am curious what the FF Feedback will be. I will let you know!

I highly suggest you be a squeaky wheel and push them to honor their warranty even if they give you the sort of run around I got. After all of my email exchanges with them, I gave up and just bought the replacement myself. Other people report much better treatment than I received, so hopefully getting your device running will be easy.

Based on the vastly improved function of the replacement, it's clear to me that my original battery was defective from day one. I'm now hesitant to use this device due to the short life and expense of the replacement batteries. I do wish Firefly had been more up front in their sales literature concerning the disposable nature of these batteries before I purchased it, but stuff like this happens when your area among the first to adopt a new device.

I've decided that the best use for me will be to save this device for travel emergencies when I cannot access a wall socket or using an open flame would be inappropriate.

What is the difference between the new batteries in terms of life. Do they last twice as long?

Hi every one!

I've had the opportunity of trying the Firefly, and i have to say that this people have made a really nice work!

It looks amazing, it feels amazing, and it charges superfast in comparison with the ascent or the Solo.

Using it is really easy too. I like to press the button for 10 seconds and then start inhalating smoothly while i keep it pressed for another 10 seconds or so, having giant and tasty clouds.

I don't detect any undsirable taste with the cannabis aroma, what makes me really pleased, because i think that it's what the portable vaporizer fans were asking for a long time.

In comparison to the Arizer Air, which i've tryed recently too, i think it has even a better taste, and the Air is really nice in that sense.

Cleainig it is a charm, with a little alcohol on a cloth or a whipe, and using the brush you have it ready again in less than 10 minutes. That is one of the most important things for me, because usually you have to take care of many pieces, small parts or difficut acces bowls. Not anymore with the firefly.

The only cons that i would suggest are that it's a bit difficult or annoying to charge the bowl, because you have to be really careful placing the herb on it. Its easy to mess it all over the metal surface and then you have to put it in with the finger or a card or so.

For that reason it's not a discreet vaporizer to refill it on the go, because you need some time to do it well, and it's useful doing it over a flat surface, like a table.

I fully fill it packing the herb a little bit, but without compacting it too much, because using it like this can get the buds burned or overheated, with the same heating time as i said before, and the taste is worse. Shaking the vaporizer helps to mix the herb without having to remove the lid.

I think i'm in love with this vaporizer, but i'm not sure how many hits can i get with a battery, but i think i have enough, because with only 5 or 6 i finish the bowl charge. You say the FF2 will be better? I want to see that :)

¡Thanks to all, Enjoy vaping!

I have my original battery and one that was purchased at the same time in July of 2014. One works as it always has. One will not hold a charge.
