just ordered mine. I'm just waiting for the red ones to come in. the glass window makes it look just like a pocket camcorder. their customer service is exceptional. i like being able to clean the vapor path with an alcohol swab, and ability to quickly swap battery. anyone regret getting one?

Thx again folks! I just ordered silver and can't wait. I really appreciate the opinions here. Will report back with my thoughts after I get it! I think it will really suit my needs.

Yo,
I've been reading what everyone has been saying and so far sounds good, but just wondering does anyone that actually has the FF and has used it also have/had a PAX? If so how do they compare? I have a PAX atm but would be willing to sell it and buy one of these as these look Doooope.

I've had a pax, solo, OG davinci, ascent, pinnacle, pinnacle pro, mflb, and some other portables I can't recall. All great for different reasons but, so far (other than battery life) the firefly fits the bill for my portable needs better than any of them.

I am in same boat as V&C (scary).. My past flower portables are iolite, mflb, pax, solo, pinnacle, INHXP, ascent but none really compare to FF. I think there are some flame-based portables that may be a closer comparison but I haven't followed those. There is also the Flashvape but I have never seriously considered that one because of the size.

One thing we all keep saying is that the FF is convection based, no point in comparing to the other conduction based vapes like pax, ascent, etc.. Different animals altogether, at least that is the way I see it.

PS - I still think the XP is a better all-around portable for my needs (usually sharing with combusting friends), FF fits a slightly different need.

I go where the thrills are
My portables, in order of purchase, are the MFLB, the Solo, the VaporBlunt 2.0, and now the FF. Yeah, it's only been ten days but as of today the FF is by far my favorite. I love the Solo, and often recommend it to friends who are just starting the vape habit, but the FF has stolen my heart. The only thing I think the Solo is superior for is sharing with vaping-novice friends. I took the Solo to a party on Friday night where I wanted to turn on a couple friends to vaping. It's a much easier vape to just hand to someone and say "here...suck in slowly, like a McDonnald's shake." That's the extent of the Solo learning curve, IMO. Handing someone new to vaping the FF would require too much instruction and finesse. "Don't suck too hard...don't hit that button again!" You get the idea.

After a full week with FF#2 I am in love with this thing. It has so much going for it...great build, simplicity of design and ease of cleaning (that fully-exposed vapor path is something I totally dig), on-demand convection heat, great taste. Additionally it has a kind of je ne sais quoi, an indefinable quality based in part on its design and heft that I cannot fully articulate. But it's a quality that really seems to engender an affection for the device on a personal level. As beautiful as the finish is, I could see how over time wear and tear could make the device even more lovable, like a favorite guitar you break in over the years, and that sounds better the older it gets. (Told you I couldn't really articulate it.) The skill and intuition required to work it really well seem to enhance this feeling, as if I've mastered the device and thus bonded with it, rather than just something you hand to someone else and say "here, take a hit, knock yourself out". The FF demands more respect than that. :D (In addition, the silver finish of the replacement FF they sent me perfectly matches a Sigg bottle I use all the time. That seems like kismet. :p)

Finally I'm fairly sure at this point that the combustion issues I faced with FF#1 were the result of a wonky unit, as I haven't had anything remotely like that with #2. I also haven't tried the top screen with #2 and likely won't as I've learned a technique that mitigates the problem, mostly. (Though I would still say some kind of top screen and more robust battery life would be the only improvements I would recommend to the FF folks.) Top it off with great customer service and these guys have a customer for life in me. I'm already looking forward to future iterations of the FF. Now is a good time to start saving for it. :2c: I think any vape enthusiasts who appreciate great design and build, and subtle, rewarding devices with tons of elegance and simplicity would love the FF. But as always, YMMV...

I'm gonna give some cotton balls a test drive in the FF tonight. Anyone experiment with anything other than flowers yet?

I am wondering if you own a Volcano vaporizer at home, are there times you would want to use the firefly over the volcano? How is the vapor quality as compared to the volcano?

Also, have people been able to get through a whole bowl without having to open the top to clear the vapor path and stir? I think it would be optimal to just pack one, and complete it without having to open the top.

Thanks!

Might anyone here think a hinged lid a good idea? Wouldn't have to put it aside while tending to the bowl; 2 fewer steps to take in the process (putting it down, picking it up and placing).

Lots of highly regarded vapourizers can reach combustion, so that's not a disqualification. The reports of combustion in the FF are either unit failures or deliberate, and there have been only two or three. Most owners have not had combustion and the FF is designed not to reach those temperatures. In contrast, by design every Atmos Raw can and will reach combustion unless you take great care. Hardly the same thing.
Thanks, you reassure me on this one.
Does someone know when it will be sold in EU/France?
And about the pinnacle pro, can it be used for "on demand"?

Hi there I'm a newbie in vaporizers and after a lot of research I'm still hesitating, but with the PinnaclePro as first choice for now.
Anyway, I have seen great reviews for this new Firefly, but reading the thread it seems that this one is doing combustion, like the AtmosRaw. Shouldn't it be a disqualifying element (like it happens to be for the AtmosRaw in reviews)?
No, please don't compare it to the Atmos line. Atmos vapes a little bit before combusting almost every time. Firefly vapes and is combusting due to what seems like software issues. MFLB can combust too if you ride the battery too long but that doesn't make it a "bad" vape.

Have a Pax and a Firefly. The Pax is a great portable and I take it everywhere. The Firefly stays close to home and is my goto at home for the finest tasting vapor I have ever consumed. They are completely different in design and function. The Pax does have some neat tricks up it's sleeve, like sleep/standby mode. Shake it from side to side and it displays remaining power and auto shut off. It did take me a couple weeks to get my head around it. I feel the Firefly gives me a much finer tasting vap and need less clouds to do the job. Hope I didn't mess up, my first post.

Would you still use the Firefly at home if you had a desktop vape like Volcano or Extreme Q? I have the Pax, MFLB, Arizer solo, the vapir no2 and I just picked up the Atmos JR(for concentrates, not herbs) /end bragging. But for real, would you set down a good desktop to use the firefly? I feel like the Pax or the Volcano are set it and forget it type vapes which are the best IMO. The MFLB took some getting used to... is the firefly similar with the learning curve?

I could go more in depth. Like the Pax needs to be cleaned every 4 or 5 days for me or the mouth piece sticks. My current Pax is #2, 10 year warranty, #1 stopped heating after 5 or 6 months. In my opinon the Firefly is a work of technological art. Several first; removable and rechargeable Lition Polymer battery, instant convection heat and a nice little view port. All metal construction, no plastic. The view port does get a little sticky/smuged. And I think that Snappo is onto something with the hinged cover/lid. That would be excellent.

I completely agree here, the MFLB just takes some getting used to. Maybe that's the case with people reviewing the Firefly? They just need to figure out what works for them. I don't have one YET, but i'll be getting one soon.

The atmos is a completely different beast. The new atmos jr comes with the screen that is supposed to prevent combustion but it almost seems like it doesn't get hot enough now? I gave up with the herbs and I use it for concentrates. I use the materials I get from cleaning my volcano and throw them into the atmos jr. Works like a charm :)

I have an enano sitting right beside me and I still pick up the FF every couple of sessions. It's just fun to use and tastes great.

Thanks for the info.

Yes I would and I do...sold my Volcano a couple years ago. Loved the volcano for what it is but sold for lack of use. Didn't start full on Vapping until I had a wedge resection of my right lung along with some mild emphysema and found the bag to go stale and kinda irratated my lungs. I have the tasty Davinci #2 also, #1 tasted like a synthetics factory. Don't use much, anyone like one?

Although you may have been joking, please do not offer anything for sale outside of the Classifieds section.

Per our forum rules:
No selling or soliciting items on the forum. The only exception is the Classifieds section, which is the only public area on the forum where you can mention that you have (or may have) items for sale or trade. It is also the only public area where you can request to buy items.

Thank you.

That's a good point, the volcano is like a hit it and quit it really...Fill the bag and clear it. Whereas the firefly you can just puff on whenever you want because of the fast heat up time. This will probably conserve more herbs too compared to other units like the pax or solo. Looks like I'm getting another Christmas present for myself.

Thanks for the Info
