Using the FF for few weeks and learning how to get the most out of it has made me like FF more and more...

I think the use of magnets especially in portables are going to be a part of future portables. Magnets provides an air tight seal, ability to create vapor paths inside the magnets, and it helps stealthiness because it keeps the smell inside.. Pax already uses a magnet for their oven door and to my knowledge, It functions very well.. I think the magnet is one of under rated features of this FF....

Any luck with the herbalizer pad/concentrates? Any videos of it in action and your thoughts? If it is able to function well handling concentrates then FF might become a more versatile vaporizer

Nothing more yet than the o.pen oil which is highly runny and liquidy (and worked perfectly!) Once I try actual wax/hash/shatter/etc I'll be sure to take a few snapshots and share. Very interested to know because-if successful-puts this on a whole new level for me!

Feel like such a Boss using this thing...

Digging the finish, nice setting too. Sure is fun getting lost in the woods with a firefly. Now if only I could do something about all those goddamn bugs

BTW, this forum doesn't have embedded webm support like a certain chan website, does it?

In the voice of Borat: GRATE SUKCESS!!

So I dabbed a little Fire OG shatter onto the aroma pad. Leaned on the heat lever for 10 seconds, 4 times in a row. Started to draw and clean smoothe clouds! None of that nasty ass plastic butaney taste at all!!

Something ain't working with imgur so I cant share pics?!? :-(

So here is some FIRE OG shatter on a Herbalizer's Aroma Pad. It most definitely works but here's a question: Am I getting all the cannabinoids I would get if this were hit with a nail and rig? It seems to me that heat up to puff time is quite long (about 8-10, 10 second pulses until draw) and wondered if that might lend to it not decarboxylating properly? I wondered because while the flavor is somewhat there the effects didn't seem to follow much. Also note I have no idea what I'm asking or talking about.

That looks delicious! With the Volcano, I usually preheat the concentrate pad then put some oil on it so it would melt and seep into the pad then start the fan on the Volcano. So perhaps it would be more effective if you preheated BOTH the firefly and the pad then load the concentrate on it and start puffing on it when you put it back into the Firefly instead of starting out from cold?

Video, please? :D

I have no experience with concentrates with a rig/nail. I have tried a couple vape pens and they were horrible tasting. With the FF and proper preheating I'm getting huge hits off the concentrate/pad method but wondered what 1 hit of concentrate would be say compared to a rig/nail hit and how it compares to 1 vaped hit of flower. Is it like 1 wax hit equals 3 hits of flower?

Concentrates and Flowers are an entirely different experience... 1 hit to 3 hits I am not sure.. With dabbing, one good sized dab can punch in me the face pretty hard compared to a glasspipe with flowers.. With Firefly you are vaporizing the concentrates so you might be getting more THC over CBDs... Dabbing has a much higher temperature, sure some of the dabs might vaporize before they go over combustion temperatures but I think there is combustion in play with dabbing so the rush feeling you get is actually from the combustion while vaporizing doesn't have that and the effects will catch up to you just like with flowers....

Hello everyone! :D

I am an infrequent poster on this forum (although I am a frequent reader) and upon reading many of your favorable opinions of the Firefly, I've ordered a unit in dark grey. Can't wait for it to arrive hopefully this week!

Before my Firefly arrives, however, I have one quick question (which hopefully has not been asked).

I know that this vape really shines when used by one individual in a more intimate session, but if one wanted to use the Firefly with, say, one or two combustion-savvy friends, what would be the absolute most important/useful advice or instruction to give for a successful first-time experience? There are some very useful things I have picked up while scanning the pages of this thread, but I haven't had a chance to carefully comb through all 140+ pages of discussion.

I know that this will quickly prove to be a great investment for myself, but I do like others to be able to sample the benefits of a combustion-free lifestyle as well.

This vape is supposed to be easy to use even for your grandma!!!
Just tell them to press the button, take a deep breath, let it all out and then bring it to the mouth and start drawing/breathing in very slowly and deeply and let go of the button a few secs before they can't inhale any more...

This is my first post. I just joined, but have been reading as a non-member for a long time. After finally purchasing a Pax a couple of months ago, enjoying it somewhat, but nothing like the taste of Da Buddha I've had for years, my friend dropped the Pax, scratched it, and bought it at a nice discount. I purchased a Firefly that day.

I've learned much from all of you, so thanks! I'm using the Iolite 7-hole screen. Now that I've had my Firefly for a couple of weeks, I have to agree with all of you who said you need them both, so my new Pax is being delivered by VapeWorld tomorrow.

I've never cooked with my ABV. I've been throwing it away for years. But the ABV from the Firefly goes to Da Buddha and produces lots of vapor. I run my whip through a water pipe and collect massive amounts. I'm not sure if it's got much kick to it. I've been at this over 40 years.

Now I'm lusting after The Herbalizer, and for some strange reason I still want an MFLB, which really confuses me.

Again, thanks for all the fun reading and education.

Wanting an mflb isn't strange. They are unique little works of art and are also secret time portals. While I rarely if ever use it I would've bought one all over again because the company and product is so unique--however I found it to be much more finicky and difficult to achieve consistent results far more so than the FF.

I am also a fan of the magnet lid. Recently I got my father in-law to purchase a PAX for medicinal use. I myself have a FireFly. Comparing the two units, the FF definitely has the better magnet seal, I can't smell anything unless I put my nose to the mouth piece, or I crack the seal. The PAX on the other hand has a faint herby smell emanating from the oven door. It is somewhat stealthy as far as smells are concerned, but no where on the level of the FF unit.

Completely agree. In fact, I took a closer look at the PAX after each draw and there is vapor leakage right out the mouthpiece, it leaks enough odor that even in a RYT case the odor is still noticeable and emanates from the case and if I charge the unit with cashed herb in the chamber there is about a 5 foot radius of faint odor. Compared to the FF the PAX is a handpipe when it comes to odor. Unto itself the PAX is still ridiculously low on the odor but not even close to odorless. That's not to say the PAX isn't highly stealthy because it is, but if you think that you can go into a neighbor's bathroom and blow a few out the bathroom window undetected you might think twice because the odor *you* don't notice others most definitely do!

While true, many people have no idea what they are smelling. ;)

The Pax will give off more odour than the FF simply because it is a constant heat device while the FF is heat on demand.

The only possible caveat might be to use the lowest temp setting with the PAX. It's essentially making the herb ready to draw on in about 20 seconds compared to the high setting which takes a constant heat up to 1-1.5 minutes. On high the odor is far more distinct compared to the low setting. I'm finding not only more flavor with more tokes, but also a reduction in odor altogether.

I would say, in general, for those really in need of odor stealth the FF is superior to the PAX in this regard. I would say though the MFLB is probably the stealthiest in terms of odor control I've used to date.

Welcome to FC and the joys of FF ownership. Glad people are finding the Wispr screens useful.

You might also try using a top screen, laid on the edges of the glass bowl, in the latter stages of a session. It raises heat, increases extraction, and should make it less necessary to finish your extraction in your DBV.

Talked to a rep on the phone (Stacey, I believe) who told me that there was absolutely no word on a new Firefly design this year. I had originally called asking to cancel my order in order to save some cash (I took an impulse plunge and ordered a tricked-out Lotus kit last night), assuming that within a few months a new, significantly improved model would be announced, but upon hearing that bit of info the prospect of having both a one-handed unit and a more complex, involving experience with the Lotus was considerably more appealing.

Perhaps she was just trying to "seal the deal" with a new Firefly customer...who knows. Either way, I am stoked for the arrival of my Firefly (and Lotus)!

I'm sure she was being truthful. They told me back in January that they had no immediate plans for a 2.0 version, and they were focussed on shipping and servicing the current device. (In fact the person I spoke to laughed heartily when I mentioned a 2.0 version.)

On a related note, here's a must-read for FF fans. A photo tour of some of the stages of building the device. Far from comprehensive but pretty damned interesting.
