I'm sure she was being truthful. They told me back in January that they had no immediate plans for a 2.0 version, and they were focussed on shipping and servicing the current device. (In fact the person I spoke to laughed heartily when I mentioned a 2.0 version.)
On a related note, here's a must-read for FF fans. A photo tour of some of the stages of building the device. Far from comprehensive but pretty damned interesting.

I wonder how much of an effect that Firefly flask has had on the process!
Seriously, I want one.
I thought the exact same thing.I wonder how much of an effect that Firefly flask has had on the process!

Have you guys heard any word of a water pipe adapter, official or third party? Would be nice to have that option, maybe a slip on adapter with a magnet to keep it on the mouthpiece.
It does need its time... When you get the hang of it though it gives you an amazing experience. Just like most things in life.I'm glad I found this thread. I'm new here as well. I have a Firefly and the first day I got it I loved it. But since then it hasn't seemed terribly effective and so it's been sitting in a drawer for the last few months. I'll have to pull it out and charge it up and give it another try. Thanks everyone!
I might just add this to my collection soon. I need a vaporizer I can just hit every once in a while. Is stirring required for an even vape? how much stirring?

Since switching to the Iolite screen, my Firefly is hotter. Apparently the extra metal in the housing of the screen is heating up as well. I switched to a 14.8mm screen from my DBV and it slipped under the glass bowl. It's tighter than the OEM screen and doesn't spin around. I'm guessing it's right up against the gasket. Do any of you tear-down scientific types think this will cause a problem? I haven't combusted with the Iolite screen, but it gets too hot too hold. I'm waiting for Firefly to start selling screens.

I'm probably buying one of these soon. I need a portable vape I can sip on for two or three hits, then put it down and come back to it later with little fuss or waste.
I used to love my Solo for the flavor, but I've been spoiled by the Herbalizer's convection heating. The Solo no longer does it for me in the taste department.
I don't mind learning curves. I just want a new experience. Plus, this thing is sexy as hell.
Thanks everyone. I was trying to gauge how it compares to the MFLB in terms of stirring. What about cleaning? is it easy to clean the bowl? Would I have to void the warranty to give it a deep clean?
I haven't noticed the Iolite making either of my FF's hotter...in fact both of them can get, in a protracted session, almost too hot to hold just using the stock screen. (Have you done an a/b test to see if a regular screen gets the unit as hot? Even a top screen, which can raise temps, doesn't seem to affect the outside of the unit heat-wise...in my experience anyway.) FF does sell screens, btw, just the regular stock screens. As for the DBV screen causing an issue, doesn't sound like it should.
Something I noticed: if you place the hot FF on a glass surface that's cool, it loses its heat almost immediately. The old first law of thermodynamics saves the day again.
It's sexy, it's new, it's got a learning curve, you can sip at will whenever you like. Just what you are looking for.
Easy to clean, and no it doesn't void the warranty...only way you mess with the warranty is if you open the main compartment and then, in the process of putting it back together, you screw something up. (Worth noting that screwing something up after re-assembly is VERY likely...the pieces have a very low-tolerance alignment that is nearly impossible to replicate once you remove the top plate. My advice: don't do it. You shouldn't get debris of any note inside the machine if the O ring under the glass bowl is functioning correctly.)
Wipe the lid with a damp (with iso) cloth. Wipe the steel surface with iso. You can wipe out the bowl with iso (but use a very tiny amount). Carefully wipe or swab the port wndow with iso. Done. Takes me 5-7 minutes to do a deep cleaning. I clean every three or four bowls.
You're correct, they do. I just didn't want to spend $10 for three screens, three plastic toothpicks, and some ISO wipes. Hopefully, they will start packaging just screens soon. The company says they're talking about it.I believe screens come with the cleaning kits they sell.

Well I talked with the fine folks at firefly and the glass porthole does indeed come out when you remove those torx screws, so I'll probably be picking up a spare lid and a lotus WPA and doing some dremeling.Hmm, didn't see that. Looks like something I should try out. However, that as well as the e-nail post on the next page got me to thinking at work. There's a couple torx screws on the FF lid, and if removing those can let you take out the glass cover, maybe a vapor enthusiast machinist would be able to make up a 14mm joint to stick in there instead. If I actually had any torx bits and maybe more balls I'd see if the glass comes out. I tried making a poor mock-up to show what I mean
