I go where the thrills are
I do remember them stating somewhere that they were considering adding different settings and algorithms. My memory is a bit hazy, but I think it was one of the videos that were circling around a little while ago. I think @Stoney Baloney might be referring to the same thing.

Disclaimer: I could be completely misremembering this bit of information. It honestly could have been somebody on here speculating that they could do that, but I'm pretty sure it was from one of the co-founders.

It actually sounds familiar to me now...I seem to remember something in one of the interview vids myself. I haven't heard it mentioned specifically with this firmware release, so far...

Why are some of us so bad at remembering these important details?

I placed my order yesterday (6/26) for a FF2 (black) with two lids (gold + white). Will post here when the package ships. Thanks again to all the FC users who continue to post in this forum. Totally helped me make my decision.

I'm giving up about FF2, can get clouds but everytime is a battle how to grindr, how much to fill, the dependance on a mobile phone.. I think when you want to vaporize you want to relax and not worry much about how your draw should perform, it's just too complicated... shame but not a vape for me, hopefully i can sell without losing much money and with the same money i will buy arizer air, boundless CFX and a haze v3, 3 instead of 1

I thought the same way when I first got my ff2 but check it out in a dark room with a mirror you should see a slight glow
I believe it is normal and is only using the needed amount of power to keep the right temp

Correct. It glows more when it's first heating up. After that the glow is somewhat dimmed.

As long as the green light is solid, hit away.

Got an update from FireFly regarding my lid and I must say I am extremely disappointed. Let me remind everyone what my lid looks like:

Lid%20Pic%202.jpg

This is FireFly's response "Thank you for providing us with that information. Unfortunately, the damage that your device has sustained is considered cosmetic damage and that is not covered under warranty. You can purchase a new lid from our website for $39.95. If you have any further questions or concerns please let us know."

How in the world is this only cosmetic damage? Again, I must say I am extremely disappointed in FireFly. The gasket will not stay in place w/o being re-glued, anyone have a suggestion on what type of glue I need?

Very disappointing indeed. How can that possibly be cosmetic only?

I do not know. I sent the following response to Firefly:

"How is this only cosmetic damage? The gasket does not stay in play to create a proper seal on the device, which affects performance substantially. Are you suggesting that I must re-glue the gasket myself, which in my opinion I should not have to do after spending $330 on your vaporizer. Further, I do not have much incentive to order a new lid if the same problem could occur again and your response would be to only buy another lid. I am extremely disappointed in how your company has handled this and it makes me not want to conduct any future business if this is how you treat your customers."

I will update the thread when they respond.

I can add that I have a ff1 (my 3rd, actually after sending 2 defective units back). My first one had a loose gasket around the glass "eye" which allowed air to seep in and affected performance. They sent me a replacement lid quickly (no charge / under warranty). Your problem is much worse than mine was.

That's crazy that they consider that cosmetic. How are you supposed to get a seal without the gasket attached? For them to be so cheap over a lid which isn't that expensive is not a good look for them. As for what caused your gasket to separate I wonder if iso alcohol could make the glue loosen if the gasket gets soaked in alcohol?

I agree...that is not a great response given that is not cosmetic damage, and you didn't do it through misuse. They should send you a new lid.

Call them. You're more likely to get results that way.

Just to be clear, I never soaked the lid gasket in iso. I would only use iso wipes to wipe the glass portion of the lid. If any debris got on the gasket I would simply clean it off with the brush that came with it.

There is no way that is your fault. Even an ISO soak wouldn't peel off 90% of the seal. Call them, as I suggested (personally I would do it right away) and see if you can't get a better response. Let us know what happens!

Called FireFly and spoke with Taylor, who advised me that the lid is considered an accessory and only has a 30-day warranty. How the lid is an accessory when you need it for the device to function is beyond me. However, Taylor said that they would send me a new lid anyway, since I just recently received my FF2. So I am pleased that they will send me a new lid, just confused how the original lid would ever be considered an accessory when it is a necessity for the FF2 to function.

NWT Holdings, LLC provides a limited warranty on the Firefly TM device and accessories against defects in material and/or workmanship under normal use for a period of (2) years from the date of purchase.

If it in an accessory which it's not you're still covered for two years so.....

So your experience sent me to the ff site and their warranty page which states:

The Limited Warranty does not apply to any nonFirefly™ products. The Limited Warranty applies only to products and accessories manufactured by NWT Holdings LLC that can be clearly identified by the Firefly TM trademark name or logo. The Limited Warranty does not apply to normal wear and degradation of the batteries or lid gasket.

Nothing about 30 days for accessories. But what is "degradation of the...lid gasket"? I think the company should reevaluate that one...

Wow, that is complete and utter B.S. First, they want you to buy a new lid? Next, they tell you the lid is an accessory and hence not covered by normal warranty, then when you call you get special dispensation and get a new lid but no way is this proper behavior from a responsible company. Very off putting.

That's really annoying that you have to call to get the good service. Why isn't email support on the same page?

To be fair, I was not advised that the lid was an accessory until I called. In the the first email they sent, they stated that the gasket coming apart was a cosmetic defect and not covered under warranty. I suppose the support staff could use some more training but I am still somewhat satisfied since they are sending a new lid.

Here is another pic of my lid, excuse the dirt:
Lid%20Pic%203.jpg

BTW I did not fix the lid gasket, but I found that if I hold the gasket along the edges and then place it on the base, and then use the unit that the gasket will temporarily stick to the lid. However, as soon as I clean the lid the gasket becomes undone and I have to repeat the above said process.

Really surprised with there response. I would call again ask to be bumped up the chain to someone that takes the issue seriously.

If there's a issue with gaskets they should replace them. It doesn't look like wear and tear looks more like the glue or whatever holds it on failed.
