The Firefly 2 vaporizer

For me the draw on the FF2 is fine, not too tight at all. I tend to naturally adjust my draw based on the vaporizer though.
Just hit it at the pace that feels natural, not too hard so it's whistling but not too light so that you feel no resistance at all.
Unlike with smoking hitting a vaporizer harder doesn't give you more vapor, in fact with every portable vape I've tried at some point the harder you take a hit the less vapor you'll get because you're moving so much air and cooling down your material so fast.
I ordered it almost 2 weeks ago. And no information yet. I called today to find out if they could tell me when it would be shipped, but no one picked up and it went straight to voice mail.
If you want FF2 you'll need to be prepared to be patient. That's just how it seems to be with these products when they are new. Still, it would've been nice for it to ship in the time frame they told me, and for them to at least pick up the phone!

True, the GH is the only one out there (portable) that seems to be able to keep up with bigger draws and it produces huge clouds. I really like the FF2 and I am trying to ask about buying a couple of new mouthpieces to see if it is my mouthpiece. I have to say, these two portables compliment each other quite well.

I actually had this same idea with the white. I emailed customer support to see what their lids were finished with / coated with to figure out which kind of paint I'd need to use and they were useless in their response. "Sorry, we dont know". A little disappointing as I figured they might be excited to have users start doing 'custom' firefly 2 lids. I'm probably going to use a paint for ceramics. Not too huge of a concern, but don't want any of the heat/hot air mixing with paint chemicals. Just as an FYI, the white does not get dirty at all so no concerns there.
Overall, can't say I'm thrilled with the customer support though. I ordered a case on June 12th since I've been throwing my firefly in a glasses case and I've noticed other users have gotten theirs already. Haven't heard from them, so sent them an email a few days ago just checking in on my order (FF2 is on preorder, accessories aren't) and haven't heard back. Not horrible, but definitely nothing to encourage loyalty/praise.
Luckily no problems with my FF2 yet.
Yeah they are like insect vaporizer counterparts. I'd probably use the grasshopper for dry herb and the FF2 for concentrates.
My personal experience shows that a consistent draw works best for the FF2, I think drawing consistently at one speed is just as important as not drawing way too fast.
The way the FF2 delivers vapor reminds me of the da Vinci ascent which is an all glass conduction vape. For the FF2 and the ascent the vapor is flavorful and extremely smooth and as you take a draw you'll get vapor, but it might not be the thickest milkiest rip at any one point in time.
By the time you finish a long draw with either vape you'll blow out a big cloud you realize you inhaled more vapor throughout the longer slower draw than you might've thought based on the feeling because the vapor is so smooth.
For me the FF2 produces like a phantom rip. While I'm inhaling I don't feel the hotness or harshness of the vapor but when I exhale the big cloud and start coughing that's when I realize how big and potent of a hit I just took.

Thanks for responding with your situation. It seems that anyone ordering after June 11th-ish (based on the postings in this forum only) has not and will not receive a unit until they re-stock. This re-stock has been confirmed, but the time frame is not specific. "Within 2 weeks" was the response from FF (via customer service). July 6th would be two weeks from when I called (June 22nd).
I have full faith in the company and its newest product and I am excited to place my order soon. I felt that bringing up any and all info folks might have about the most recent batch of pre-orders could be useful, especially for those who do not possess the unit as of yet.
Regarding the company's phone, their customer service rep, Taylor, answered the phone both times I called earlier this week (according to their time zone hours listed on their website) so they should be picking up your calls.
As I previously posted, my gasket for some reason has come loose.
Wow, hit up Firefly they should definitely send you a new one. Looks like the glue was bad.

The case is dope, get one. It easily has room for your stir pick and even a brush if you want to pack it in there. I personally don't carry my brush with me all the time, but I verified that it fits. I would totes feel confident dropping this thing from a leisure height. And the best part... wait for it... the dad belt loop! (I don't use it, but it's there if one is so inclined!)

Wow! That is some serious gasket failure. It doesn't get much more loose than that.
If possible could you post a picture of the inside of the case?

There was a little odor when I first used it but it quickly vanished. As for use I probably go through 3 bowls in the FF2 a day at least. Also, I was cleaning the entire unit with iso wipes on average every 3 uses if not more frequently. FireFly has contacted me and asked for a picture so I sent them the one I uploaded yesterday, now just waiting to here back from them.

The gasket in his pic sure looks black, maybe they were bad and they switched to grey. My black lid has a grey gasket with no issues.

No, my gasket is grey, it probably looks dark because of the lighting and the grey bed it was on.

Hey guys, does anybody know when they are updating the app? and if they are gonna include a temp setting between high and concentrate mode? I really liked using concentrate setting for flower until I started combusting, and the flower started smoldering in the vape. High is just not hot enough for me!

An update on my 6/13/16 order which I was told it would ship in 1-2 weeks. Please excuse, or skip, the short story that follows...
I called Firefly on Thursday to check on the order. Taylor (customer service rep) was great again (I called pre-order to check on status). He said they were out of FF2s, expect them in within a week if not days, and I was near the top of the list once they start fulfilling orders. I had ordered the FF with a case and external battery charger and knew from this most excellent forum that the charger was backordered. So I arranged with Taylor not to hold up the FF and send the charger when available.
Later that day, I got a shipment notice. My heart leapt knowing that my little Firefly was winging its way to me! I payed a little extra for next day priority so it should be here by Friday 10:30. Oh was my weekend going to be AWESOME. Under the wire at 10:20 the FedEx truck pulls up in front of my house. The driver comes out with a box and hands it to me. My heart sank. Without opening the box I could tell they had sent the case sans FF2. So, um, the case is nice but I WANT MY FIREFLY.
Bottom line: hopefully I'll get it next week which would be close to the 2 weeks shipping date I was given when I ordered. In the meantime, fear not, Pax2 is keeping me good company.

Next 30 days, maybe? I think that's the general time frame.
I use the liquid pad on top of the bowl, on high....seems to boost the temp a bit, but still south of the concentrate setting. (I haven't heard of any plans to add another temp level...)

I do remember them stating somewhere that they were considering adding different settings and algorithms. My memory is a bit hazy, but I think it was one of the videos that were circling around a little while ago. I think @Stoney Baloney might be referring to the same thing.
Disclaimer: I could be completely misremembering this bit of information. It honestly could have been somebody on here speculating that they could do that, but I'm pretty sure it was from one of the co-founders.
