No one who has actually used it would describe the draw as "very very restrictive", unless in your town the words "very" and "restrictive" mean different things than they do in my town. It's "moderately" restrictive. At worst. But maybe if you actually used it, you'd describe it differently.
You know it's not actually "made in China", right? The key components are made in the US (the restrictor plate and the heating coil). Additionally it's assembled in China under FF supervision. By Americans.

I agree with you on this. I just don't understand why they decided to not have the electronics completely separate or at least try harder... for $330 (and the hype) I would expect things would be completely separate. I mean that's a known complaint for many vapes and just looking at the ff2 it looks like it could be easily avoided. If there is anything to complain about this vape i think this is it. If i was making a vape I would base the creation around this separation of the electronics and battery from ANY connection to the bowl path.
I did another test. I put double sided tape around the sides and stuck plastic wrap to it to cover the whole bottom cover. Also I had a spent bowl in there as well as the battery installed. The plastic wrap showed some air flow through the battery. While it is minimal there is some. I'm not trying to burn the FF or anything just trying get some facts. I tried to make a gif to show but its pretty shitty.

Firefly beats my minivap in flavor by a mile.
I still didnt get a good enough answer to why the ff app requires my location.

Its the google/android coding... To use "low energy bluetooth" that ff2 uses, location has to be enabled because of the way google/android did their coding for their operating system. AFAIK

Kinda seems like people are just finding nit picky things to be upset about. Like the app for example, sure there might be a couple bugs (battery meter), but keep it in mind that you chose to buy a new product before everything had been tested and evaluated in the real world. Most companies have initial issues with devices that they fix as the device rolls out, take a look at basically any Smartphone, TV, etc... The crafty requires an app for more advanced control as well but I see very few people complain about it, just be patient and allow for Firefly to work things out.

Yep that's correct. (Thanks for posting this info...meant to include this in my last post.) iOS app doesn't trigger Location Services but Android apparently needs it for low power BT. FF doesn't log any info.

There are plenty of vapes that don't require a smart phone app
. FWIW I don't use my app other than to change to concentrate mode. My phone has been broken and the replacement arrives tomorrow. I set it to medium high with a friends phone and have had no issues using it that way . I'm sure I'll only ever use it when I plan on switching to and from concentrates.

I'm glad to help...i gotta remind myself out loud on reasons not to blow my net worth on every boutique vape.
Is it possible that the air is being pulled in to cool the electronics? I really have no idea, I am genuinely asking. The unit itself does get pretty hot on high setting and I would imagine really hot on concentrate so I would almost assume this is to keep it from frying itself like @Morimoto said above.
Edit: I would imagine this would be good design as I am not sure how else you would actively cool the electronic components without some sort of external fan. I also imagine that this may be leading to some of the issues we are seeing with the GH. Its such a small confined space that the heat might burn out the components.

@Reggie Watts I truly believe that all you are doing is forcing your draw to be slower by closing the airway and thus creating more dense clouds. I think it is most likely working correctly without pinching but not living up to your expectations....just a guess here.
By pinching that lid down you are making that space above the little air hole smaller and increasing draw resistance.
Bingo! THIS RIGHT HERE. I'm glad someone said it. I appreciate you making that clear. I'm honestly not sure I could have articulated that. I kept trying to think of ways to word it without insulting some folks.

Another thing I'm starting to notice; I think I'm more likely to combust when I put pressure on the lid. Maybe @Reggie Watts can say whether or not this is the case for him.
I have been getting (mostly) consistent results from my FF2 for a few days now (probably 5/6 bowls) I'm still not convinced that my lid is good, but I'm starting to think that it was user-error on my part. I think I'm still going to buy a new lid when they become available though.
I want to know 100% whether I'm an idiot or not...
