The grey is caused from light falloff (inverse-square law). Adding more light to the background should fix this. To get pure white, the BG should be 2 stops brighter than the subject's light.
I would stick with white but add some black fabric to the sides of the glass so it reflects from the glass, giving it definitive edges. With pure white, the glass edges get lost in the background.

I would perfer 18mm only. I would rather use an adapter if needed.
Sounds like standardizing on 18mm is the way to go, this will help bring the final release date much sooner.
Thanks for the photography tips, sounds like we will need to double our light output for the background. All our website photos are white background, so if we can get good clear white shots of larger glass items without needing to over expose a bit, that would be great.
We are already working on the final version and it is shaping up nicely. FC members who participated in the design did a really nice job and our hope is to produce a worldclass bubbler from everyone's vision.

This is wonderful news! Posts/threads like this, the VXC thread, and others, exemplify how a business and the people, can work hand in hand, civilly, to do really cool things! I wish I had caught this idea earlier, (the fc bub) but glad I noticed this thread when I did. It's so cool to watch these things happen/unfold!

Well, credit to PV for working with FC. I think that comment sells most of our other vendors and craftsmen short (I should say, can be interpreted). Many have taken huge financial losses, to bring special things to the forum. The other side of that (no names), are few and far between.
But, this is PV's thread and my own personal opinion, is I like the interaction and patience they've shown, putting up with a bunch of vape heads.

I haven't really commented in this thread because up until recently (a year and a half and 15 or so vaporizers later), I was pretty much just a glass pipe guy. Now I'm 100% a vaporizer guy! So my ability to comment on the pros/cons of the bubbler is minimal ...
I just thought I'd chime in and say I might just buy this bubbler as my only one (apart from hydratubes and my little Black Leaf) as I'm such a fan of PV and the quality/design I'm sure will be great. Every time I've dealt with them (which has been enough as of late), they are just great to deal with. Their enthusiasm for their products comes across in the way they can then relate to their customers. Thumbs up to all the work PV is doing with the Solo stems, this bubbler, and other projects.
Great company to buy from ... great customer service ... and a visible enthusiasm for what they are doing and commitment to customer satisfaction.

You'll find no argument here. I just switched from using a 14mm bubbler as my daily drive to an 18mm with a reducer and I have to say I've been converted. Having the 18mm w/reducer gives me much more versatility and the reducer adds very little to the overall height of the bubbler. In fact when I use my CRZ the 18/14 reducer it gives me a glass joint to lift out to clear it, which is easier then pulling the stem. I also personally have found that I like the less restricted draw of the 18mm better. So one more for an 18mm standard. (besides I'm really drooling over this one, so sooner is better
