OK, I remember someone talking about this. I don't think I want opaque tubing, though...

I have that exact tubing and I have to say I love it. Super flexible and I can have a whip that is as long or short as I want :)

I share with my wife and the only place we can put the unit means I need a 2 meter (6.5 feet to you Americans) whip. Since this has worked for us, I'd say that's not too long. Obviously it means more condensation in the whip but cooler vapour. I haven't found this matters much to me. The biggest difference is in how hard you have to hit. I hope you can generate a lot of suction.

pakalolo,
I got a question for the extreme-q owners here.
I noticed that my V-tower, which is a symplified Extreme-q, smells when it is on.
Is this normal?
I opened the device, till I got to the ceramic element, however this is one is very hard to clean due to the fact that it is wired onto the device. And the hole in the element is very small.
Anyone who has experience cleaning his heating element?

Finally made it all the way through this thread. Took a while, but it was definitely worth it! I got my EQ Wednesday and I've been playing with all the tips and tricks described in this thread. This thing is amazing! Thanks to everyone for all the great info.

I'm looking for some custom glass for my Extreme Q. Asked around on chat, posted ONCE (on this topic) in the Extreme Q section. Tried contacting a few folks on Etsy. No luck all around. I am looking for a few custom elbows and mouthpieces. Also some pieces to connect my Q to my favorite water pipes... Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks and happy vaping!

NOTE TO MODS.... Just realized I probably should have posted in ASK FC not in GENERAL VAP DISCUSSION... sorry

I just got my Arizer Extreme Q, I was wondering, what is the best temp. for it? How hot do you guys have your E-Q Temp. set on?

I start at 195 C , and turn up heat every couple of hits to my max preferred temp of 215 C. This works great for me and gets me nicely toasted :peace:

Is there anyone who can help me?

Update: I have disassembled it like described in Vaporpedia.
However I have gone a step further, i removed the heating element + glass cover of the base, which is done by removing 3 screws. Then I tried to completely remove the heating element which is wired to the circuitboard. But the one of the screws won't come lose so this is not possible.
After I removed the glass cover I am now trying to get a wire or something through the element, then I can connect this wire to a small cotton ball drenched in ISO, and pull it trough and hopefully clean it.

I noticed already that there some sign of dirt on the extra ceramic plate under the heating element, to hold it up, which is probably caused by blowing into the whip. Which I did a couple of time, yes I know very stupid. :(

forget you upped the temp for warming up purposes;

Hi everyone. New to the site, but been lurking. This place helped me decide on my Extreme Q. Only like $236 or something like that shipped. Not too bad. I got it in on Saturday.

I was reading the instructions, and decided press the 240C button for that initial warm up phase it talked about. You know, to burn off any chem smell from the factory. Well, I forgot to lower the temp, packed it, and filled a bag. It was a bit too much to handle. Oops. It made for an interesting hour or so.

I have been good since, using it on 190-200 and upping it as needed. My girl, however, keeps setting it lower and telling me the herb needs to be replaced. She keeps referring to what her friend with a volcano had their temp set to. I keep having to tell her that its a different system, and it will not be exactly the same. We are soon to be married, so she has already stopped listening to me.

She digs the balloons, but I am thinking that I like the whip. The balloon just requires a level of commitment that I am not always ready for. However, if there were some kind of seal-able bags, that would be cool.

It's always best to consider every unit unique, for finding the right temp, even if it's the same brand and digital.

We are soon to be married, so she has already stopped listening to me.
If you can't get her out of the 'not listening mode', just tell her it works both ways. ;)

I've had the extreme Q for about a week. New to vapes. Just found this site today and started reading through the pages. I had never heard of the elbow trick before. It is counterintuitive to me but it does work. It clearly delivers more vapor per quantity of material.

Has anyone figured out why the elbow trick works better than the manufacturer's primary design???

I believe the elbow pack method works better because the goodies are all in a smaller confined space that is directly in the airpath. The cyclone bowl allows for some herb to "escape" the flow of superheated air (think of all the herb on the sides of the screen that sits directly over a glass lip). Stirring between hits using the cyclone bowl alleviates this problem, though.

I know that many different vapor bonging setups have been described throughout this thread, but can some of you who have these setups describe what you bought and where you bought it?

The only thing you need is a bong with an 18mm downstem. The Q has everything else you need. I simply attached the miniwhip (that came with the Q for bag blowing) to the mouthpiece of the regular whip and viola!! It connects right to the downstem of my bong using the elbow attachment on the miniwhip. Nothing else needed.

Now I only use my Q with a bong. It makes quite a difference to me over just hitting the whip.

Cheers!

All of my pieces are 14mm actually, you'll just need a 14mm H20 adapter, available at most large online vape-retailers as well as from a host of Etsy artists.

ttb3: FWIW I think its best if those discussions remain in the dedicated glass/bong threads, there's a great amount of archived material already in those threads.

Just quickly, for the cheap, starter glass pieces I think Etsy is a great option to get into contact with artists directly. EDIT (everyonedoesit.com) is also a viable option for Ehle's (a great, accessible, i.e. cheap, starting point for my money). Many here are also registered on glass-dedicated sites, e.g. Boromarket. My advice is to read as much as possible in those glass-specific threads to see what it sounds would work for you. :2c:

FWIW, I never vape without water filtration anymore :)

Yea, I would not even want to vape without water filtration now- unless it's the LB. I use the bubbler with the PD up in my bedroom. I use the HVY beaker downstairs connected to the Q. The Q setup was cheap, but very effective. It costs $20 for a GonG adapter for the whip (14 mm), and $65 for the beaker :)

I saw a post on here in the last couple of weeks about using the top of a Rubbermaid water bottle top and a 1" piece of hose put over the bag mouthpiece on the EQ, it works great and the straw that comes inside the bottle can be cut up and used as a mouth piece for the MFLB! Pretty cool actually.

Search for the video on here it is pretty informative!

Hello,
I recently purchased the Arizer Exreme Q (my second vape) and I would like to be able to use it on the go. I have encountered two batteries. neither of which I am interested in (Price).

The Sherpa 50 was one
http://www.survivalmetrics.com/id_goal0-sherpa-50-battery-emergency

and the Arizer Battery Pack was the other
http://www.vapeworld.com/arizer-extreme-vaporizer-external-battery-pack

My question to you guys is have any of you gone through this? What pack would you recommend if you have.

Thanks
