Good Morning International Vaporists,

Happy Holidays as we are almost ready to send out the International EVOs!

To avoid any possible shipping issues like broken glass, or non-updating tracking ID's we are shipping all of the EVO's and accessories first to our Distribution Partners.

Individual packages will then be sent out once the shipment is received. This will allow us to ensure that even if something does bring in shipping, our Distribution Partners will have replacement inventory if necessary.

We are in the process of building and packing up the EVO's and are working as quickly as possible to get the International EVO's out.

We will send you another email to confirm once the shipment has been received by our partners, along with an updated timeline of when to expect your EVO to arrive.

Thank you as always for your sincere determination and faith in us, as well as our company and product! We are thrilled to have gotten to this point, and are incredibly excited for all of you to be able to own this piece of Vaporization history!

Sincerely,

Seibo Shen

I kinda' find it to be a bit of a kick in the balls, I mean, if the distributors will have them before me, why did I even bother putting cash down 18 months ago? As I didn't get a hydratube I don't even think I got much pf a special price. . .
Anyhow, psyched for this big order to slowly clear customs and eventually get my evo.

I guess we will be the first ones to get them from these distributors before they get on stock. It's going to be better for us anyway, getting it shipped locally instead all the way from the US. It will cost me much less on customs.

I would be more than fine with this. It's possible I'm understanding it incorrectly.
Maybe they changed plans. When confirming my address, I asked Vapexhale, and they said they would be marking the EVO's as replacements so that we wouldn't have to pay import taxes again. They also said they would first confirm what they will be sending because some people have ordered other things and have asked for them to be shipped together.

Yes, but not recently, e-mail subscribers have been told about getting our replacement via local distributors on Apr 10:

Good Morning,

This is an automated message to everyone who received an International EVO. We’ve been able to pinpoint the majority of the reasons that units were malfunctioning overseas. First we’d like to thank you all again for your support and patience.

We found that while our courier choice certainly impacted a few individuals (we will no longer be using USPS for international purchases), the majority of the issues had to deal with the variance of volts and hertz throughout the world, and the inconsistencies with power even within the same country. With our current algorithm, it did not deal with these differences very well which is why many units overheated.

Again we cannot stress enough our yearning to make this right as quickly as possible. Our engineers are working around the clock to test our new algorithms and once they give us the thumbs up, we will be able to send them out. We plan on sending the units to our international distributors who will then send it directly to you, this way we can ensure our packages are handled properly and that the units arrive to you in one piece.

We know that you’ve put a great deal of faith and trust in us, and we’re doing everything in our power to ensure your trust is both deserved and appreciated. We will continue to send updates as necessary, but if you have any personal questions or inquiries, please reach out through our customer support portal.

Have a great day,

Benjamin

When I got a MFLB replacement, they told me at customs that you need to send the old unit back and prove it on paper if you want to get freed of import taxes. So I had to pay them because of MFLB's awesome replacement policy lol :D We are keeping the glitchy EVOs and sending them to US is a worthless hassle for both sides.

@goofygreen -- i don't know the answer, but I interpreted that email like Seek did. I seem to remember a lot of earlier international shipments arrived broken and the answer was to ship to local distributors in bunches and have them sent out from there. This made for more secure shipping between countries and the distributors were equipped to handle replacements for broken items instead of the shit storm that ensues when an end user has to return something internationally and pay shipping, customs, etc.

Again, I don't know for sure, but I think that is what they are doing.

Now I feel like they will be doing it the way you guys interpreted it. I knew it didn't make any sense the other way unless something else was going on. Their email just confused me since we shouldn't have to deal with taxes within EU anyways.
They told me "We can absolutely put REPLACEMENT on the packing slip/invoice, so you should not need to pay taxes on your items again. We will email you again before we send everything out just to confirm what is being sent, when, and to provide you with an updated timeline." on December 10th.

It makes sense that you would have to send the old unit back and prove it on paper to avoid double taxes as well I guess. Otherwise everything would be a replacement.

Thanks for clearing things up guys. I'll shut up now.

Sorry I'm already breaking my promise. ;) Am I understanding this update correctly?
:worms:
Vapexhale is sending the 220v evos to their international distributers incase a select few have non-updating tracking numbers or receive broken glass. Is this not causing every international customer to wait even longer until the big shipment is cleared, new units are built/sent out, and these problems can even be verified? Instead of say, shipping the units to the customers and then new units to the distributers. Or even send the units to the customers and a few to the distributer at the same time. There really can't be that many who have problems receiving their units.
In the event of a non-updating tracking number, they would surely contact the shipping company to find out what's wrong instead of simply sending another unit? Then those select few with broken glass or a truly mia package would have to wait just as long as everyone currently does according to the plan and those without problems would receive their units faster. :hmm:
Am I crazy?:mental:

Yet now we receive an email, on Dec. 19th, stating the international distributers will sooon be supplied first, and not only that, our units won't be sent until they receive theirs. Did they mean Valentines?
I'll leave it at that. Maybe I'm just really pessimistic.

If anyone recalls what happened last time, TravelBuddies, glass, EVOs, and HydraTubes were destroyed. We lost over 5 figures in merchandise the last time we sent it out this way. The TravelBuddy damage was the last straw and this why most companies use distributors to send to their international customers. We are still a small company and we simply cant afford the financial impact of carriers not handling our packages with care. This way, all of our units will arrive on a palette and our distributor will be able to individually package and send out the packages to the appropriate customer. Hold tight, we are building and testing and hope to get this package shipped out to them shortly for distribution once QC is done.

I'm not against everything being sent out from the distributers.

Just to let you guys know that it's probably better to get your units from a distributor or you will be paying import duty/VAT again- I had to pay another £70 tax on the test Evo that I was sent recently even after having already paid it on the my initial Evo, which is broken and which the second unit was replacing.

When I queried this with the delivery company they explained that every new item that enters the UK is taxed by the UK government (as there is no trade deal at the moment with the US) even if it is a replacement for a faulty or broken item that has already had tax paid on it. The only reason that they will waive this charge is if you have posted the item back to the US for repair and the same unit is sent back to you...

This sucks big time and we can only blame our poxy politicians. Let's hope that they finally pull their fingers out and get the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership agreed on (TTIP) although it's looking pretty unlikely at the moment.

Just sticking my nose in for a minute . . . :2c:

By far most electronics manufacturers use local distributors for international fulfillment, if the company does not have its own facility in that country/region.

Some advantages have already been discussed, such as shipping in bulk. However, there are many other advantages to the buyer, primarily in managing the customer relationship (i.e., sales, fulfillment, compliance, warranty, support, localization, and repair services). In regions with multiple retailers a two-tier model is often used where the retailers are serviced by a master distributor, who owns and develops those relationships rather than the manufacturer directly.

While providing many advantages, this business model is very complex financially and legally, and takes a major time-consuming investment to develop (which is why start-ups initially often must sell/ship direct). So this is a huge step for VXL to take. My guess is that this and investor relations have been consuming a very sizable portion of @stonemonkey55 's calendar this year.

My hat's off to all you international folks who have hung in through this whole ordeal.

And to @stonemonkey55 for having reached this enormously important milestone.

Good luck to all for a very cloudy New Year.

:myday::peace:

TBH February 1st sounds about right, I'm struggling to remember a time this vape wasn't "3-4 weeks to completion".

If vapefiend have them then can us UK vapers expect them the following week do you guys think?

Vapefiend is normally pretty reliable with info. So my guess is he has had confirmation of shipment or possibly customs clearance.

Still not sure how this works with my pre-order, does that still exist @stonemonkey55 or will I just need to buy one from Vapefiend now.

The discounted pricing was why I went in on the pre-order in the first place.

Also will @VapeFiend.com be holding enough IGG Evos back to send to the IGG participants before he puts them on general sale?

Vapefiend doesn't say expecting 13-16th anymore. Just out of stock. Really hope they land this week!

Quick update for everyone, I spoke to Vapefiend's customer service earlier to see what was happening, apparently the units have arrived in the country but there was some missing customs paperwork when they landed which has delayed things, they are due in to vapefiends warehouse sometime next week.

Vapefiend said they would email me to let me know as soon as they arrive in their warehouse. The wait is almost over guys.....I can nearly taste the vapour!!

I'm also curios to hear whether or not they made it to Australia.
Do you guys plan to use Australian Vaporisers as your distributor?
