however, it's even worse now. I'm actually afraid to even open it, as there's one question I don't have an answer to. Where will I store it in-between uses?
Don't be afraid. It won't collect dust all of a sudden as soon as you open it.
If you really are afraid, you can immediately put it in a closet or drawer ! It should be fine. :ko:

Search Amazon for camera cases and hard drive cases, or you can go full pelican, at home I would just keep it in a drawer though

Thank you, I really appreciate your response! Camera cases do seem like good form factor after looking at a few. I'll have to do some research. I may end up just using the bubble wrap and the box it came with, as I'm probably not going to be going into the woods with it like I would with my Dynavap.

Very true. I just opened it a few minutes ago, and I'm honestly blown away . It completely exceeded my expectations. I haven't used it yet, but the woodwork is incredible. It's beautiful and so smooth; it feels great in hand. I love the design of the one I received. I didn't pick which one I was getting, because I knew I had to checkout fast. I'm beyond satisfied with it. I'm trying to upload some pictures and a video I took of it, but I'm not sure how.

I'm trying to upload some pictures and a video I took of it, but I'm not sure how.

You need to upload to an external image hosting site first, like imgur.com I use on my mobile browser, then just paste the link here, or imgbb.com I also use on my mobile browser, but there I can select to view bbcode and just paste what is in the img brackets without url, so the photo displays

I ordered a case called Vatra from Amazon. It has pluck foam so you can customize it. I placed on the left side to make room for a second one later. It also holds my spare battery and glass pieces.
Yep, I think I saw that one when I was looking. The pelican offers the same pluck and pick foam, so its pretty versatile if you plan ahead. I have slots in mine for 2 battery cases, flower, and 3 stems.

Got the battery charged and tested it out and thought I'd share my review... This will be a bit long...

First the shipping was crazy fast to Florida, everything was packaged well and everything I expected was delivered. Great start.

Charging the battery was SLOW. I charged externally with a nitecore D2 digi. Cleaned everything up and I'm ready. Easy enough.

The interface is simple to use and fit and finish is great.

First use. Loaded about half basket screen in the bendy stem of some medium ground Skywalker OG that's at about 62rh. (Boveda) first try I went on demand at 400f then stepped up to 420. Good flavor, light vapor but it kept coming longer than I expected. Finished the bowl, mostly even AVB that's lighter in color than what I normally go with my dynavaps... but I also got way more hits with better flavor and the ending affects are the same.

Second use. Fuller load tamped a little tighter. This time i tried a dryer flower that i have called Eran almog. Warm up first. Then cruise. Then back to on demand. Finished at 430f. Plenty of vapor and plenty of flavor. This flower vaped better, prolly because it was dryer.

I'm high enough, so that'll prolly be my last test tonight 😆 but from these 2 test I can tell this will work great as either a session vape or quick extraction on demand vape just by changing mode, temp, how packed, and how dry or humid the herb is.

Lots more testing is needed, but I like almost everything about it.. What I hate.... this list is VERY short.... battery life. I can kill this battery in an hour then it takes several hours to charge...

So.... I need more batteries.... at least 3 more... Can someone link me to the batteries you guys prefer for these devices?

I have these.... any of them good?

Plenty of info about these in this thread.

Ok I am really excited and happy for all of you whom have succeeded in aquiring a P80. I got timed out on the last drop when they had technical difficulty. I was heartbroken.

Did you notice not a word about the steep price increase. That says something about the product and I so very wanted one.

Plenty of info about these in this thread.
Do you trust theses goys are not selling fakes? Or is that not a problem with molicel?

Plenty of info about these in this thread.

Are higher rated batteries generally considered as not as safe?

If those are the largest batteries I can get ill grab em, but if I can pay a little more for a battery that has more capacity that would be ideal... As long as it doesn't jeopardize the unit.

Only taken 2 rips in on demand and cruise and got great results, can't wait to spend the time to try out the other settings. If this thing performs half as good as it looks I think it may sideline everything except my injectors for awhile!
Thst looks fantastic.

Its not just about the mah ratings. Things like CDR come into play as well, and battery manufacturer's are often a little optimistic in how they report it. Have a look at the battery thread here and do some googling for more info, but most folks defer to test results from a fellow named Mooch, who does quite a bit of testing on various 18650s. He posted his updated test results not too long ago and regularly posts on instagram if you do some digging. His general recommendation is the molicel p26a, but if you find his charts and know how to read them feel free to try some of his other recommended options. If you don't really know what you're doing in this regard I would recommend sticking to the molicels, though unless you're buying counterfeits its less for safety and more for performance reasons.

Also for whatever its worth regarding your thoughts above, while the p80 is on demand I find it definitely benefits from a solid preheat first to heat-soak the boro tubes. Even when I'm using on demand mode I turn on session mode for a minute or so or use the pre-heat functionality to get everything up to temp.

I love it so much!

Beautiful unit. Most are though IMO. Is there a name for the style of the front of yours? Mine is different, not the colors but the wood pattern itself? Just trying to learn more for if/when I try for a custom as my second P80 down the road. I posted a pic of mine a few pages back and the front of mine has a different front in terms of wood patterning (again color will always vary as will wood grain). :peace:

Oh yeah, @WoodVillain et al while I agree that the battery life isn't necessarily outstanding on a single 18650 (though I can get at least a long drawn out bowl out of a molicel, where this is mostly me preheating, taking a hit or two, and then returning to it to preheat again several hours later--the preheat seems to use a lot of juice), depending on the charger you've got the charge time can potentially be much better. Mooch tests them for rated lifetime at various charging rates (generally slower = lower temp and better battery life time), and the molicel generally does fine at 1A. I have a few 18650s to cycle through and am not a heavy user so I keep to 200milliamp on my charger (https://www.18650batterystore.com/c...y-testing-chargers/products/opus-btc3100-v2-2), but it can go as high as 2A which is like 30 minutes to be fully charged. Plenty of people in this thread have said they are happy to take the lifecycle trade off for the convenience, so that could be an option for you as well. Even the molicel's are like $2. Someone did the math and I think the lifecycle trade off doesn't amount to much in terms of real-world use of the battery in a regulated device...

Thank you! The product name for my Tetra P80 is, "crosscut marble wood / blue / darkgreen boxelder burl". It seems the front part would be the darkgreen boxelder burl.
Is it the “crosscut” style for the front hiding the heater? That’s what I wanted to know. Colors and patterns are myriad, most are aesthetically pleasing to me anyway. :peace:

Thanks for all the info, yeah with as cheap as they are it's no biggie. I can just order 5 more and never have to worry about running out.

I've spent over 20 bucks on a single 18650 before, and would again if it meant a much better battery life, but in this case I'll go with the tried and true and just have extras...

I've avoided battery powered vapes for a while after getting tired of carrying batteries everywhere... but this vape isn't really going to be a portable, so it really doesn't matter how many extra batteries I keep at home lol..

I think you may be referring to the drum style around the heater?

That’s exactly what I’m referring to. Are there set styles for this, like a limited number of them and specifically what they’re called? In other words what are the options? Or can Ralph do anything with the drum around the heater in terms of structural patterns? That’s my question. The colors and cutouts (on the sides) with some are of course amazing and they run the gamut.

Weekend holiday regards to everyone. :peace:

I couldn't find your photo because I didn't feel like skimming through the thread, but do you have one that is all square? That has nothing to do with the pattern of the wood itself

Crosscut just describes how the marble wood was cut, why it looks the way it does, with the grain.

Yeah the barrel rounded heaters were innovated several drops ago, that is what Ralph calls the drum style although it seems to be more like the new standard these days

Yeah you can skim through all the different ones he made in the past, there is no limited number, it is just the drum barrel rounded which by the way adds to the total cost of the TP80 for those that are thinking there is a huge price hike, he barely makes them the square way for the prebuilts now so most are more expensive...

Structurally, only the hardwoods can be fully rounded, curved, with the three panels, most of the cutout s are just that simple long skinny oval that I like and got with mine, but there have been a few others in the past, including no cutout at all if you skim through photos...

The acrylic units, make the three panels into more of a hexagon octagon type shape, since the poplar plywood cannot be rounded the same way as the hardwoods... zigzag cutouts were common in past acrylics too... However the newer acrylics do wrap around fully rounded now, with the live edge crazy cutout that you've seen with more recent acrylics...

So there are quite a few options structurally you see, I've seen more cutout options for the square versions, but he can basically do anything you want if you send him a custom design for laser cutouts or any inlay design too...

And yes you can get any color, any wood you want, the one you were talking about, that is dyed box elder burl, stabilized wood, one of the more expensive options, the acrylic and painted poplar wood are a cheaper way to get whatever color you want though it is of course not the same natural wood look per se?

Burl is also the most expensive type of wood option of course, these units like the marble wood, were able to be cheaper, by just having the stab wood around the drum, some of them only two panels not even all three, although the marble wood was also exotic (and you see the price depends on the color of the mod as well, blue adds no extra cost, red or silver adds $5, black or bronze adds $15)

Does that all make sense?? The custom options in the drop-down don't have everything so I'm not sure you can find all this there, you will have to email with him to get specific of course...

anybody know exactly how many PBs and CXs were sold? I'd like to update my log... or if any previous rows look off, please let me know!

From the first drop I think there were 15 custom slots, then four left for the second drop, I think it was still 15 total but it may have been more... And the number of pre-built, should have been able to count before when they were all listed... Sorry it was like 60 I don't know lol
