Tetra P80

I do love mine as well and use it from time to time. I used to carry around more, but my mod died on me once (no more heat). I’m a little more careful these days.
It took a while, but he repaired it just fine.
My first nub still is one of my favorite. Unfortunately, not available anymore.
Had a second nub, more obstructed, no good. Just like the tank I got…
I’m mostly using a OGB J-Hook and rubys these days. Nice set up. I’ll try post a picture when I have a chance.
Always awesome with a wp as well!
Not one to forget, but not an everyday pick either.

Seems like it's been a couple years since a drop unless I missed one? Perhaps it's time to call this one discontinued?

He has been working on another TP80 drop for a while, but it keeps being postponed for BAK drops instead... No indication of any discontinuation, very premature of you to bring that up imo lol he still has P80 mods!

The threads here are pretty inactive, because Ralph has moved to his own discord, that is much more active, and he posts a lot there:

PS: Good Vibes Boro has a fresh drop of Tetra stems and hooks on sale now btw

It turns out that this TM2 WPA (link) is a perfect fit for the TP80 if you put it in WPA-side first.

Unfortunately, I kinda feel like I have yet to get the TP80 to really work for me. Every so often I'll get inspired to try it again, but I keep getting mediocre vapor that's harsher and hotter than I get with other devices, and I end up with dried out but undercooked herb. It's fine - I have plenty of other excellent devices that all complement each other well - but I guess I wanted to voice my secret shame. Even with top-notch devices, maybe not every device will work for every user.

Native use only or have you tried with a j-hook or other glass?

I have a couple long stems with multiple pills/marbles that really help with the TP80 harshness/heat-- worth keeping an eye out on Good Vibes Boro and/or High Artisan. Wish it were as easy to get good TP80 stems as it is TM2 stems!
Yep I have a few customs. Definitely more options than what we used to have. The Zasquatch z-sytem is a nice modular option. I often reach for a cheap 18/14mm wpa with j-hook for cooling as well.

New stems available like this one that I would Love to use personally:

Lot of others with new colors, this could match some nice metallic acrylics:

Good evening folks! Been eyeing lamart tetra p80 for years. Mostly because they're works of art. Have gotten the chance to get one, but a little bit on the fence. All the convection vapes Ive tried I've hated ex TM. How similar is the p80 to the tm? Should I just skip the p80?

Vapes I love; Firewood

About as similar as an elephant and a cow. They both have *some* similarities, but they're completely different beasts in my opinion. Flavour, ease of use, ability to roast a bowl evenly, smoothness, all are topped by the p80.

I mean I totally disagree with the above comments from possum in the sense that I find TM as good if not better in the regards:

Which is why I'm not going to focus on a comparison at all as it gets off topic... (I think it is so different from firewood as well, better FW counterpart could be BAK really)

Tetra is pure convection, it is quite good, you say you've been eyeing one for a while and you haven't liked any others you've tried, you might as well try this one too?? You could always sell it afterwards and then you will finally know...

They are all unique, despite similarities, so this could be the one you love! Sure is my most used, particularly with high temp one hitters through water, but it is quite versatile to be used a variety of different ways, though it is always going to be very pure convection so fully air flow open and potentially a learning curve that is insurmountable for some people (I don't mind the battery swapping etc as it is ultimately more convenient to use than most plugin for me personally now)

Oops. My tired/ADHD brain hit post by mistake. Cos yeah, I was gonna add that this is variant on stems and how I use them so @Vapomans mileage will vary, I doubt many are using their TM2 calibrated to 9 with no cooling at all like I do.

Yeah all in all they are definitely different, preferences regardless, I do think they have different use cases, and certain people might gravitate towards one completely and really not care for the other at all, or enjoy both... That's why I think it's worth trying

Thanks to both of you, that's kind of the info I've been able to gather from the thread. Don't want to go OT, comparing vapes in a dedicated thread for the p80.

But on the note of heating method I always found pure convection to be harsher than conduction plus that you need a lot more force to take a pull on a convection compared to an induction in my opinion. Al convections Ive bought or tested made me cough like a MF, extremly dry throat or even severe asthma attacks. Always use devices natively, avoid separate glass pieces to filter the vapor. Asthma in the background that could be a contributing factor for the reaction, but have met and talked with other vapers here on fc that are asthmatic and love convection vapes. So kinda puzzeled on why they so far havent worked for me. My lungs are wimps/sensitive now a days, but mistreated them with spliffs w tabbacco for years before getting the ascent and then switching to vaping.

@Shit Snacks exactly my thinking, believe the bakx would be a better fit for me. Even though VAS is kicking in on the p80.. But a big thing is that the offered unir doesnt match up with what id want esthetically in a p80.

Currently have around 10 devices for sale on ent, so really wanna avoid adding to the graveyard haha

With what I've written above it feels like I should aim for the bak. Think you'll agree @Shit Snacks

Thanks!

Yeah so it's a personal thing, honestly I find Tetra smoother, because of the convection airflow, whereas BAK hybrid conduction vapor is so intense much harsher for me by comparison lol I know other people feel the opposite so that's the thing, but it could also be how it is used, so many variables between other people... I think it's still worth trying Tetra if you can, and even better than trying to sell it, you could probably trade it for a nice BAK setup pretty easily???
