Tetra P80

I would just like to jump on and ask for anyone's experience getting something from Lamart in Swizerland to Canada, specifically Ontario. The Tetra P80 is already very expensive for me, so I'm not sure I'm up for spending a lot on top of everything for unexpected taxes, customs fees, or other fees I might be unaware of. I need to clean this out of my head before tomorrow if want to stand a chance of scoring one - otherwise I'll definitely over think it and chicken out about ordering one.

Thanks all!

Ralph put his name as sender and declare $50 for an aroma device (inside the small p80 box)... in Portugal i payed arround 25€ (customs costs and vat23%)

there is no export fee you need to pay lamart. the shipping cost is all you pay (goes to the postal service) which is for delievering it to your door step. thats from my end.
if your country has any import fees or taxes that they want from you because you are importing something into your country i cannot tell you exactly.

here in switzerland its like this: theoretically all goods have VAT (value added tax), everything that gets imported or produced needs this tax (goes back to the state for streets, education, whatever the state needs). if the value added tax is less than 5 swiss francs they dont bother. this translates to you can import goods below 65 swiss francs without this tax, everything above gets taxed (vat at 7.7% here). if they tax, they also add a handling fee here.

other countries have other limits, for example USA $800. you need to check how your country handles this. google "free import limit country" or "VAT country" to see how much they might charge if they charge.
officially ill say the packages are declared at the correct value on the outside of course... cough, see one post above cough. they may get through customs without anything, that said i only know from very few people how they received the packages. but if they get picked for inspection there is an invoice inside with the order value and they will likely tax accordingly. if contacted i can forget to put in the invoice.

Downloading the invoice on the website was the best! This made me tremble when I sent the declaration of value $50 lol
In Portugal over € 22 stops at customs! (countries outside the European economic area)

Depending on the declared value you may have to pay GST/PST and a $10 Canada Post handling fee.

Also what gives cooler vapor: the nub or the bendy spiked mouthpiece?

Pretty marginal imo, but the bendy spiked is slightly cooler.I use the nub as my daily driver fwiw.

The prebuilt units may end up cheaper, depending on what SORT of prebuilts he has... the soft woods (beech, poplar, birch) are less expensive.

The customs are just units where YOU get to pick all the ins-and-outs. The prebuilts are just units that are... prebuilt :haw:

I don't believe there should be a price difference for units that are the same other than being "custom" or "prebuilt" - is my point :p

i think the main difference in custom you choose the wood and designs and such...with the pre-built he does all of that for you...I think his first drop was all pre-built units so if you scroll back a few pages you can see quite a few of them. Either way custom or pre-built, from what i hear its a damn good vape and i cannot wait till i get mine!!

I see that some pre-built TETRA P80s will be for sale. Are those cheaper than the custom ones?

It’s the specification (type of wood, cut out pattern, special inlays, display colour and type of mouthpiece) that dictates the price, not whether it is a prebuilt unit or a custom build. Some people are keen to get something asap and are flexible in their requirements whereas others are happy to wait in order to get something that is entirely their own creation. Given that I managed to secure a P80 custom in the last drop and have only just finalised my specification, I think it’s safe to say that I’m firmly in the latter camp!

For those that are thinking of going down the custom route, I’m pleased to confirm that Ralph is great to deal with.

Any word on when the next drop is?
From Paddy's email:

"There will be 15 Tetra P80s and 5 Tetra Xs available for custom order, along with a few prebuilt Tetra P80's.

Orders will be open from :

Wednesday 5th February - - 9PM CET (Swiss Time!) - -

USA time: 3PM (East) / 12PM (West)

The new items will be made available here

Tetra P80: https://shop.lamart.ch/index.php?route=product/category&path=68_91

Tetra X: https://shop.lamart.ch/index.php?route=product/product&path=68_88&product_id=542

The current 'availability' on each item's webpage is set to 'out of stock'. At the time of the drop, that figure should change to show the number of available items, and you can then check out whatever you've selected."

The extra luck paid off! I was able to get the custom I've been dreaming about for a few weeks now. Purple heart solid wood with a black P80 and red display. I was tempted by the beautiful floral cutout but I fell in love with zig zag design the more I looked at it. I definitely went way over my budget but I really feel like this is a vaporizer I will finally love absolutely everything about. I have a few heavy hitters but each have a missing niche in common, and that's a true on-demand experience. I'm so excited to experience on-demand vaping for the first time, and I feel super lucky I get to experience that with a custom TetraP80, thanks Lamart!!! (Ralph):peace:

yes there are some differences. functionality is not impacted.
the prototypes are 4mm wider because the heater is a separate box and the p80. also the battery door is slightly different. no pick holder inside the unit (you can still store a pick in there, but will rattle more). and the units were used, maybe, who knows :D

Last drop I took too long looking at the options and by then they were sold out. This time I managed to snag one. Hip hip hooray !!! I wanted to add some accessories - at least another mouthpiece, but I was afraid that if I paused I may lose the P80. I included an email with the order asking how to do this. Now I'm thinking I wouldn't mind the 3 stripe inlay. Afterall, it's only money. :)
