Discontinued Terp Torch

What did you get? I just broke my rattle can, and am using a small, cheap piece in the meantime. I’m looking for something. I am waiting on a sidecar from DHGate, but want another.
Nothing special really, I got this on clearance. The only thing that sucks is the placement of the bowl, can't use the clip to secure it in place.

The main benefit? I'm not hacking up a lung, each session.

I really need to find something to help with the coughing. This is my temporary piece, and it doesn’t cool nearly enough.

Wow, really shitty to find out. Good company with good customer service just gone because of some BS laws. I hope that this vape mail ban nonsense is overturned or amended to not include dry herb vaporizers because this is just ridiculous.

Damn government!
So stupid.. .

It’s really the people who own our politicians (and in some cases literally write bills for them) who are the real problem. In this case it’s probably tobacco companies and others with an interest in keeping nicotine users smoking.

If you look into just about any issue that we can’t get fixedor that we get an unnecessary “fix” for, you’ll find that some industry (or even person) has given a lot of money to a lot of politicians to make it happen.

Another good example is online gambling. Online poker exploded in popularity in the early 2000s, and the physical casino industry (especially casino billionaire sheldon adelson) pushed until they got a ban on it.

Government doesn’t have to be bad, but when our “representatives” can be openly bribed they end up representing the people who have most of the money, not the rest of us.

Sorry to see Terp Torch, Lotus, maybe Fluxer Heaters and so many others disappearing for no good reason.

I think just selling the tip could lead to issues with people buying really cheap or shitty soldering irons and then complaining that it doesn't function as well. It may just be too much of a hassle with all of the extra paperwork AND having to deal with manufacturer issues. This is exactly what I was worried about. A lot of these vape companies are small business and this bill fucks them over hard.

Wow! I'm honestly shocked, this is the type of device I would expect to not have issues navigating the ban. Suspending their merchant services is the true killer and threat to our community here, mailing loopholes mean nothing if you can't buy and sell.

A real bummer, the Terp Torch is my first desktop (I'm certain it won't be my last) and I've enjoyed every second of it. I just went around to a few smoke shops looking for a replacement water piece, and found one that works pretty well with the torch. You can see it's bigger than the old piece that didn't cool enough. I wish it was 14mm instead of 18mm for the sole reason that I can't find a keck clips that will attach the bowl to an 18mm joint. Can anyone suggest a good method to attach the bowl so I don't break it by pulling it out when it sticks to the torch?

@iammyself 14mm keck clip will keep your bowl secured 🍻
I have a 14mm Keck Clip that I was using with the smaller piece. the problem is it doesn't fit the new bong; it's 18mm with an 18mm to 14mm reducer. If I clip the keck to the reducer, the reducer doesn't make a seal so air comes in around the reducer instead of through the bowl. Also, the reducer makes the spacing between the bowl and the bong too far. Maybe I'll make something with thin metal wire or something.

Sad to see TT fold but I wonder a larger company with more resources could pick up the IP and resurrect it at some point?

Ah I see it now, so the keck clip lifts the reducer out of the joint, is that what's happening? A regular non low profile reducer should work, but that would lift the bowl up further which I can understand why you'd want to avoid more height. Could you maybe sand down the k clip or hit it with a Dremel? Or perhaps a small zip tie or wire as you note could be fashioned somehow. A little reclaim on the outside of the reducer might "glue" it down as a temporary adhesive.

Oh wow, that's horrible news!!!

This is the best vape I've ever used, so sad to see TerpTech pack up shop so early in their success. As a Canadian, my only comfort is that Arizer is safely located in Canada, at the very least we can smuggle Arizers into the US for all ya'll :(

Not the kind of news I was expecting to read today, damn this sucks!:cuss:

The good news for those who got one is that when the iron will die you can remove the tip and put it on another iron of the same model. So as long as this model of iron is available the Terp Torch will live on.

I need to get a back up iron now.:\

Yeah I pissed on the rug...... so what
Man that was a short ride?!? This one never spoke to me and now I'm really glad I didn't jump on board but I hate to see anyone fail in this space especially so quickly. My heart goes out to you early adopters hopefully they last long enough to feel like you got at least some of your money's worth. This could be me if the Bowle doesn't catch on

I felt like I got my monies worth after just a few days. The TT became so dominant in my lineup that I had to pack it up or nothing else would get used. Now I only bring it out for payday weekends.

I do regret not purchasing the updated bowl though.
