Tabletop Bong anyone?

I did something crazy the other day... I bought a second table top bong vase, just 3 months after I bought the first one.

I find myself using it pretty much every day (it's the only glass I use now, everything else just feels cheap and shit in comparison), I'd chipped the glass and was wanting to get a new piece shipped around the globe anyway, and I've created a really nice undercover outdoor space coming up to the Australian spring and wanted a separate one for out there.

I bought one of these dildo-looking Goo Roo glass mouthpieces from VGoodiez to go with my Table Top Bong. It's such another level up from the hookah mouthpieces that Lee includes - I absolutely recommend keeping an eye on if/when they get more in, it's one of the better vape toys I've bought in quite a while in terms of immediately noticing huge changes/benefits. I only regret not getting a second one for when I inevitably break this one.

Their whip hose is made of latex, which is why it looks, feels and smells like a balloon - the hose that Lee sends is still much better. But from what I can tell the version they sell without a whip hose comes with a 19mm female joint, rather than just the hose attachment. Which makes it much more difficult and fragile in my set up, cos it means the glass mouthpiece isn't actually affixed to the whip hose.

I’ve definitely found myself in a similar situation. I recently got into recycler dab rigs and it’s honestly made a huge difference in the smoothness of my sessions. I’ve been using a recycler rig for about a month now and can’t go back to regular pieces. The way it filters everything, it feels way cleaner and way more satisfying. I also bought a second piece not too long ago—just like you! I figured I’d need a backup for when I’m out in my backyard, especially as the weather's getting nicer. But yeah, I can totally relate to what you’re saying about everything else feeling kinda "cheap" in comparison now!

Bredniliny,

old-fart

Maybe not the oldest, but possibly the fartiest!
Also, i had never looked before, and I did not realize just how insanely expensive these tabletop bongs are! Over 200 canadian for any of the models, thats fucking wild! This is a 50 dollar bong (retail, not wholesale) with like 5 dollars of wood hastily thrown around. Talk about a grift!
Actually, I put together a list (bill of materials) to make this bong. Not $50. I'm not sure the dimensions of the wood (6" square? 8"? Thickness?)

prices below are USD

500ml Heavy Wall 2 Neck Round Bottom Flask36.19
Downstem Percolator (6") - 6 slit9.31
Downstem Percolator (6") - matrix (plus shipping)6.99
In-Hose DIFFUSER [I'm not sure how to order this]
Mouthpiece10
6MM term perls (glass balls) - [He includes 3,4,5,and 6mm balls, but this line is for 6mm]9.99
Bottles for beads5.99
Cage
2"x6"x2' walnut or cherry board (1.5" board would likely work too)55.56
3/4" x 3' oak dowel7.43
Double ended screws7.79
Sticky pad for bottom9.97
4 feet5.49
4 acorn nuts8.99
Whip hose (8mm/12mm)12.59
Whip angled connector16.99
203.28

Sure, you may not need everything on this list and the wood board is pricey. You also need a router and other tools to make the stand. Also, the included downstems are much better quality than what I've included in the list. You could easily shave a few bucks off the list, but overall, the cost for the product from Canada seems reasonable, if you like the product and the extras you get with the product.

Cheaper build:

A fun DIY project for sure! If you have a shop.

$152 USD shipped for the tabletop vase :-) to the USA is a pretty decent deal, actually.

I think the suggestion that one could build this kit for 50 bucks also misunderstands the role the glass plays, and different (ie. more expensive) types of glass.

Is it a massive difference that most people would notice? Probably not, but it's significant for people who are at this end of the market and looking to get everything they can out of their vaping experience.
