Discontinued Supreme Vaporizer

Living The Good Life
It is true there is much less "blabber" on this thread than many others but I often just see this thread collecting dust and it befuddles me. I feel like the supreme has been out for so long and has flown under the radar for the last 11 years. I have never come across another supreme owner or anyone that even knows what it is when I bring it places and when someone hits this thing for the first time they are always amazed at what this bad boy can do.

The electric version from ed I have almost given up on, and i know his heating element is patented but im amazed the concept behind his design hasnt been copied or I wonder exactly what he got the patent for. But any heating element that would be bigger have lots of mass and also channel the air to expose it to as much surface area of the heating element as possible instead of just a ceramic heating element in a glass tube. The supreme is not perfect by any means and could be improved very easily IMO but I wonder why heating elements aren't built more in this way. maybe too hard to heat something with that much mass with a desktop unit? I am unsure why but would love for more units to focus on the heating element and surface area that the air comes in contact with (convection vapes obviously)

After my Cloud got destroyed, I no longer feel safe taking my new one out of the house. The supreme i feel safe taking anywhere, in any condition.

When water drips down a hot Cloud, it can explode. I've had water flood the inside of my supreme twice with no noticeable effect.

However, the Cloud gets me higher off less weed (when the temp is turned up). The vapor tastes 100x better and feels smoother and cleaner.

IMO one of the supreme's biggest limitations is that the bowl-tube is not removable and you're forced to leave the bud inside all during the sesh. Makes it a tricky vape if you're using it solo a lot.

Well, it appears rapid elevation changes can break the supreme's thermometer.

Drove from sea-level to 5000 feet elevation and "the altitude allowed for more water to escape faster and get trapped behind the thermometer"

I had taken it camping and it the thermometer was broken when I first got there, but the hilarious thing is that I forgot the one screen you need to work the device anyway. If it hadn't broken, I still wouldn't have been able to use it
(Ended up using an aluminum can pipe for 2 days :puke:)

Oh well, $25 for a new thermometer

I just got my Supreme out yesterday after several months of not using it. I do love this vaporizer, it is my favorite to use with glass, and I got rips from the Supreme yesterday I have not had from a vaporizer in a while. I too often wonder about the new electric model, I just checked Eds site a few days ago with no updates, kind of disappointing. I love his American made product, I sure hope he is still working on the new model.

It may not be the easiest to use, but IMHO, it is one of the hardest hitting vapes on the market, and still my weapon of choice when educating others about vaporizers, especially combusters.

I purchased a new Supreme #2 when Ed was having his clearance sale, so I have an extra in case anything ever happens to my first one. This is one vaporizer I will want to use 20 years down the road, and should stand that test of time. Like I always Like to say ... Keep It Simple Stupid, less parts to worry about, less parts to fail.

Salutations everyone,

There's a thread in the French section where the Supreme unit became part of our subject. The question i'm personally curious about is relative to heat sources.

Lets suppose one lives in a remote country-side location far away, deep in the woods with absolutely no electricity-based resources whatsoever (no solar panels because of very tall canopy, etc!)... Now imagine it's a bad luck day and there are no working lighters and/or torches around - only a box of matches!...

{...here it comes...}

Would a Supreme get enough heat from a combustion stove, or just a simple charcoal fireplace perhaps (whatever)???

Multi-media documentation would be most appreciated!

I know people have used electric stoves. I've tried a gas stove and it was tricky not burning the wood, but I suppose not impossible.

If it does work with the direct contact of an electric stove heating element, perhaps putting a grate or a pot in a fire would get hot enough to heat it up via conduction contact too.

My supreme's thermometer is still broken so I wouldn't be able to do much testing :/

EDIT: found this quote earlier in the supreme thread, along with a handful of people who had no problems.
"SO, I stopped with the stove, advice, BE CAREFULL with the electric stove, my temp screene had a temporary reaction due to the surrounding heat."

Salutations SD_haze,

Thank you very much for this information as it's difficult to picture how the unit's tiny size may complicate the task of exposing only the heat-exchanger to fire (etc.) while keeping the wood finish intact, whatever...

;)

Your explanation appears to suggest something to that effect so i'm pleased & satisfied with it. My guess is if someone is to ever try this "camping style" mode of operation then it would be a good idea to protect the sensible areas with aluminium foil (to form a shield).

At least there's a possibility that a Supreme owner may very well have a Plan-B handy if he has nothing but some intense heat-source to cook his food...

Believe it or not this sounds pretty much like what's probably most suitable for the initial poster!

I found that the screen liquefies, but does return to normal afterwards.

Salutations OO,
Salutations Vitolo,

It was the correct assumption to think i may have wondered about that one because i sure did!! So, since i read a few days ago that there's a new version being worked on right now then it would be reasonable to expect this issue to be fixed soon, or perhaps the LCD thermometer simply needs to go and be replaced with a beeper...

That's too bad because the individual who could be interested in getting a Supreme will have to make his purchase before January is over. Yet i thank you for that information complement which i'm about to relay this morning.

Salutations Xchadb,

Since that post i've been informed by a member who inquired information from the manufacturer that he only had *1* unit left in stock...

It's not clear to me if there will be more so you better write him directly before investing any more time into this thread, IMHO!

Yes, although i wasn't fond of wood two years ago (and i guess i never will) i came to realize - only very recently - the type of situations in which its heat-exchanger made it really unique.

So whatever happened to the electric supreme that was supposed to be on the horizon?

It'd be kinda sad to see th supreme disappear, I'm glad I got mine when I did

Dunno.

But my guess is if there had been an electric alternative then this member i refered to might have been offered just that...

Egzoset,
bumping this thread because I have been using my supreme lately because all my cloud ELB's broke.

Using my Boom tube. I have found it works the best with the supreme.

Then a nice low temp milk. mmmmmhmm tasty!

And here is a hit from the same pack. I usually fill my supreme and get about 8 big huge hits out of it at least.

This was the 5th hit of that pack.

I didn't think anyone stirred with the supreme?
The supreme, just like any vape other than the HA requires stirring. The air will preferentially flow around the material instead of through it, and therefore requires stirring for even vaporization.

The thought of stirring has never even crossed my mind when using the SV. Seems pointless to me.

I understand why it may seem that way, the air is very thoroughly heated, but that does not mean that the air is flowing directly through the material, as air flows around any object moving through it, it will move around the material instead of through it, you know, path of least resistance and all that.
