Pulled the trigger and should have my very own "El Supremo" in early August. I'm so confident of my ability to rig an alternate heat source that I'm not even going to buy a torch; well OK maybe later for a picnic or something, but not at home. You know those YouTube videos where the guy has a torch in each hand just blazing away on both sides of El Supremo? Picture me with a Steinel heat gun in one hand and a whip from the Arizer EQ in the other...No, you're right, I can't either. Either yes, but not both. Cool thing is they both have digital readouts so less guesstimation on heat and I can keep the EQ fan running on low. We'll see.
So one of the video reviewers on Youtube mentioned you have the choice to do the warmup either with it loaded or empty. He felt bigger clouds with a preheat of the "biomass" but said inserting after warmup gave a purer more convection experience. The instructions say insert first and let everything warm up, but I was wondering what you guys prefer?
