Who used a ddave mod?how do people like to pack there basket screens?loose or tight??
I have an LSV and a Buddha and a DDM that I use on both, so while I may be a bit off on my remarks concerning the Surfer I think I am close. One of the big appeals of those units is the wide open air paths which I try to maintain that with a loose load pack. On the other hand a tighter pack in a reduced space isn't bad either so it's still coming down to daily preference. Beyond it's pack there are also all those other factors to play with grind, draw rates, actual knob setting, etc. What would you like to get out of your vape maybe there will be some specific suggestions folks can help

Do you use a bubbler/bong?if so do you stack the vapour in the bong before you inhale it?

For that kind of hit I usually go with a dry steamroller type piece (1" bore X 13" length) which works well with the mouth puff thing. As close as I get with that using wet glass is shorter high diffusion piece with minimal water but I just can't stack it as well. Likely that is just my technique and preferences at play.

I suppose it's too late to be asking all the questions https://www.amazon.co.uk/P-Sungar-H...&qid=1512677275&sr=8-9&keywords=p+sungar+bong because I already ordered that...is it any good?it was only cheap!

most bubblers have an 18mm opening. Make sure your wpa is 14mm
It is 14mm,why is that important?what am i missing lol

This SSV is serious, I'm very impressed!
I can see why standards are high among USA vaporists when there are quality benchmarks like this, and for not-too-wild kinda money.
It gives so pure a taste, I may not need the all glass path now! And pronounced effects, I could hardly get round to typing this up lately, I'm serious my eyes close about halfway sometimes.
I did have an idea what to expect after getting the smells of a Volcano before you place the bag, or some other convection experiments, and I knew what to do from reading about the dial knob and how air speed affects temperature.
Although I'm finding my best setting around 10 or 11 o clock where some might like 12 or as high as 2 o clock.
This either proves I'm a slow draw or it could be cause mine is 220 Volts.
I like that there is no draw resistance at all as I've had lung issues, now my Mighty feels bunged up compared to the Surfer!

I'm surprised how good it is with reclaim on some cotton too. (I bump to 2 o clock for this) I might try some on the ceramic flavor disc next.
I can see how this style of direct draw convection is so popular. It's a lot less noisy without bags, and I think it's even better for my back as I'm not sitting up or leaning forward half the time.

I enjoy my Volcano's taste but it often needs a certain load size to really get the profiles out, but with any given load size, the SSV is the purest and best tasting vaporizer of anything I've tried.
Great visual clouds too, even with tiny amounts and it will whip you right hard if you do cover the screen or keep on adding a pinch and stirring.
Love the stock glass parts with their arty accents, the pure simple air path and the glow from the heater.
The marble pick is great too and works great to shape a load in the bowl, I hadn't thought of using the marble end for that.
I'm also noticing the SSV is making less smell in the room of any vape I've tried, not sure, maybe the pure convection and with no valve system or air pump. But you do get really nice smells from the wand bowl when it's near your nose just after use.

It's great there's a @DDave mod for it too, that looks well made and should give extra solid hits with really small loads as well. Look forward to trying that out soon!

I've got two spherical GG wands here and one is a 1/4 inch longer distance between the screen and the end opening at the ground joint.
Maybe I'll ask the company but is one of these for the oil kit, or is it a wand for larger amounts?
Are variances in screen distance normal?
The slightly longer wand seems to suit me better and gives nice even browning.
But I'm still interested to know if they are supposed to be different sized, or which one is for the oil kit if that's the difference?

I'm experimenting solely with this unit now and all others are mostly left unused since it arrived!
It seems very efficient as you get such a wallop for what you put in and only a little condenses on it's way to the mouthpiece.
I can already tell it will help me to use less overall and to get stronger or longer lasting effects from my home sessions.

Once I got used to my airspeed norms with the unit, I tried it with the sweet Elev8 bubbler I got and it gives beautiful smooth clouds and a super experience.
It's lots of fun slowing down the draw to increase clouds.
I thought a bubbler might make it difficult to get the draw speed right, or that it may not even be needed, but they are a match made in heaven, hands-free or when moving the wand about also.
Up till now I wasn't even really a water guy, but if you've never tried your SSV through water I advise trying it and I can vouch for the Elev8 glass being a perfect match and looking stunning too.
The Silver Surfer and bubbler I got make me smile while using them because they look and perform so great together, and now the pair make me laugh even before I use them, cause I know how effective the pleasure and stress relief is going to be from this tasty aroma and steam train power Woo-Woooo!

I love love love my SSV. I recently took it out of retirement a few weeks ago after ordering a replacement wand. My old one had broken about half a year ago and I just never bothered to order the replacement wand until now. Man after hitting it for the first time again I was yelling at myself for procrastinating so long on getting this thing back into rotation, its like a log vape on steroids.

Although I'm finding my best setting around 10 or 11 o clock where some might like 12 or as high as 2 o clock.

I tend to adjust the temperature dial depending on how much I pack in the bowl. If its closer to a full pack I start at around 11 and work my way up to 12:30-1 but if I'm doing more of a microdose bowl I turn the heat up to around 2-3 since the materials that much further away from the heating element I feel it needs that extra heat to get the required extraction.

Has anyone ever tried installing a flat screen in the gg wand rather than a domed one?is this even possible?i obviously have not tried yet!

thinking about grabbing an ssv locally. for 50 bux... I don't think I can pass it up. All I need is the tubing for the wand and mp. hmmm I think I cant go wrong with it.

Should be ok. Tubing isn’t too expensive. Check that the knob doesn’t wobble and the ceramic heating element extends close to the top of the heater cover.

Before you spring for new glass break out your 18.8mm male to male adapter, a screen and a piece of tubing.

It is an old mod but it is cheap and it works.

If the hack works for you you might look into the 7th Floor mod kits by DDave Mods. The prices are comparable to factory replacement parts and there are some significant advantages, IMO. Good Luck

SSV w/ Standard HC, LSV HC, thermovape all,
Who used a ddave mod?how do people like to pack there basket screens?loose or tight??

I use a Heater cover from the life saber, then the ground glass whip that typlcally uses the SSV GG Heater cover, If you put the life saber HC on the SSV the whip sits perfectly in there and I put the DDave 18MM screen at the end of my GG whip and the flower goes in there i give it a little very light pack basically so it dose not fall out while inverted, but i have had all of the SSV heater cover /Whip combos and this way hits the aboulute best and is the most convient especially if you like to take bong rips with it

Has anyone ever tried installing a flat screen in the gg wand rather than a domed one?is this even possible?i obviously have not tried yet!
if you get one of the DDave 18mm screens it should fit right on the end of the whip perfectly and gets you a little closer to the heater

Nice! I have that adapter and screen :) thanks @howie105
Going to grab the unit soon :). I've never used an ssv I'm pretty stoked :)

Has anyone ever tried installing a flat screen in the gg wand rather than a domed one?.....Hey Guy. I nested an E- Nano basket screen inside a basket screen and got a fairly flat surface and then nested those inside a third basket screen (depth adjustment). It worked but it took too much fiddling so I went with the DDave Mods because they work as well without the hassle.
