Nope, folks happily used all the 7th Floor corded vapes before the mods were available. That said, I happily use them with both an LSV and a Buddha and would hard pressed to give them up.

Da bowl is ideal for some concerning da SSV if you’re not scared?
I just broke out my SSV after it sat lonely and cold while I rode my newer pieces pretty hard. I unfortunately broke my butane torch but I thought I'd just use the ol' standby a bit. Id forgotten what a great experience it is using the SSV. Way back I'd started using the all glass wand/tube combo that looks like a Z kind of. It was ok but maybe too far from the heater because even cranked up the hits were lighter than with the old spherical wand For small hits is bought a regular heater cover and a vapor brothers mini wand. Also ok. But I love my spherical wand and heater combo best. Omg it kicks. I love forgetting how much i love something then using it again and loving it again. Lol. It's almost like it's new all over again. I'm the same way with !movies. Drives my wife crazy. My SSV i bought used on fleabay a long time ago and I replaced the heater when it died from a power surge. Easy peasy except for my fat fingers and paws.

Same for me. I almost forgot that I even had the SSV. Broke it out after getting bored with the same ole same ole night after night. Realized I needed a heavy hitter. This is reliable and fun getting back to a whip... Hurts so good.

, but I beg to differ with you on this point...the factory WPA for the LSV is the exact same shape and size as the Spherical Heater cover for the SSV.7th Floor offers a larger wand to use with the SSV called the "Spherical Flavor Disc Wand". You can use it without the flavor disc, and it's the same shape and size as the heater cover for the LSV. You can also use a heater cover from an LSV as a wand for the SSV as long as the SSV has a spherical ground glass heater cover.

I ordered a Super Surfer V2 a few days ago. Expecting it Thursday. I had just bought a DaBudda on sale and I liked so much that I went to their website and saw an upgrade path. The DBV was worth $100 delivered to Elev8.
The SUP looks incredible, and at half the cost of the S&B Hybrid, thanks Deuchland, and I do own a plenty, but I think I found something extraordinary in the Super Surfer made in CO, USA.
To those of you who, "forgot I owned an SSV" or words to that affect, what have you been you thinking?
Put those batteries and torch lighters away, this seems to be the ultimate AFU machine!

This is the first bag-capable vaporizer for me. It is reminiscent of my college days, when I would blow into a plastic bag and re-breathe the gathering fumes! I would assume the Fuji was bag only? The nice thing about the SUP is it is hybrid and has been for quite some time. They just dropped the price on the SUP, so it is worthwhile recommendation to ayone seeking a versitile desktop machine, IMO.

I'm interested to hear your thoughts! I've had quite the variety over the years, but have never tried one of these somehow. Mine shows up tomorrow with the all glass wand attachment. The main points of comparison I'll be using are my Evo and Ditanium, so I'll post up some thoughts of my own soon

I just got the standard version, not the Super. Bags, in theory, are really convenient. In practice, for me, not so much, so I didn't feel the need to spend extra. I expect that the no-frills base version of either is going to be an absolutely killer vape.
On a happy note, I just discovered a local shop that carries a wide variety of vapes and parts, including the SSV

I got a Super Surfer, @ataxian . I'm not super big on bags, but it's a nice option for friends. Mostly I have it because it was on sale for $200, and @ThymeTraveler bought it for my birthday present. It has a different wand than my SSV, and I love both my Super Surfer and my Silver Surfer. All of the surfer bizniz makes me think of you.

One of the best values for a vape is the "Blemished" SSV. They are completely functional but might have some cosmetic abnormality and typically run ~$150. Even if they don't have any listed, its a good idea to call to see they have any laying around.

I have an EVO and love my SSV. The SSV IMO provides a little more user control without having to touch the settings since the draw speed can highly effect your extraction. Its a very underrated device that is still extremely capable but just doesn't have all of the marketing hype. Built like a tank and can be left one all day long without worry...no annoying auto off function.
I'm curious about the all glass wand attachment. I suspect it isn't for me since I tend to break glass a lot.

Hello FC. I've got a SSV and hoping I might find some troubleshooting help. I bought a SSV with Ground Glass wand & heater cover about 6mons ago. First desktop vape and really enjoy it. It went into storage for a couple months when I moved house. I used my more discrete Solo II during a transition living phase. Busted out the SSV to celebrate the new home over the weekend.
However, I've burnt/ignited every single bowl since using it again! Ugh. Now my whip tastes awful and it's really ruining the vape experience. I'm not a fan of smoking (need my lungs for work), so this needs to be fixed. The SSV doesn't appear to be damaged in anyway. I'm using the same temp settings as always, between 11:00-1:00, mostly 12:00. Previously, I hadn't ignited a bowl since the first week of use and know to stick below 2:00. I've tried a lower temp, but still burning up half way through the bowl. I am using the DDave mod for small bowls (same as always). I don't think the knob has been removed and reinstalled incorrectly to give accidental extra heat (clicks off around 6:00-7:00). The only other difference I can think of is a new crop of homegrown (LOS Mango Sapphire). My previous smoking was with only two strains (Hydro NL5 and mystery hybrid). Does the SSV ignite easier depending on the characteristics of the herb maybe? My Solo II had no problems with the Mango...
Any other ideas of what could be happening here? Thanks in advance for any help!

Is your screen clean and not blocked up with debris? If you're drawing too slow or the screen was blocked, that might cause it too.
As the heat of the air depends also on the speed that it passes through the heater and wand.
Assuming you haven't moved to a different voltage zone?

Nope, same voltage (220V), just moved across town. I'm using the DDave mod with the little basket screens and I usually soak them after each day's use, so definitely not clogged. Hell, I isopropyl cleaned the screen, mouth-piece, hose, adapter, and heater-cover 4x last night after each burnt bowl!
However, I do sip my vape lightly. Habit from using Solo II and Pax 2 for getting better taste. Maybe I need to readjust my intake rate after using the Solo again. Puff harder to get cooler air. Presumably, that has a similar effect to just turning down the temp?

Yes the draw speed can basically have the same effect as adjusting the knob. And this is one of the vapes that you need to be a little mindful of draw speed.
You can "tease" out more vapor by slightly slowing the draw speed or thin it out by drawing faster if you've got your temperature setting dialed in right.
If you want to draw slower in general turn it down a bit, and quicker might need more heat etc.

100% this. I've combusted twice with my whip setup, but it's almost entirely due to draw speed/knob setting.

That seems to be my issue. Last night, I took big draws and all went well. I think my mindset was stuck on other vape device techniques. My other vapes usually favor slow draws for more flavor, but with SSV it made the problem worse. New plan, either pull bigger or just turn her down if I wanna sip... Thanks for the reset.
Side question, is there a good way to neutralize the whip's burnt taste? I've run isopropyl through and then hot water. Still has ashtray taste. Or just time for new hose?

Whip tubing is super inexpensive. Make sure to get food/temp safe vinyl or silicone, and also make sure it's firm enough for your liking (some can be a little limp
). Beer tubing is the most common I've found.If you insist on cleaning them, I personally like to soak in simple green then boil them. That being said, it's more efficient to just replace.

Well, I thought about what would be the shortest length of whip you could use for water with SSV,
and I did this:
There is only 20mm of whip in the vapor path, and it makes for great powerful hits and taste.
Another good point is that you could make 50 of these little whips out of 3 foot of whip!
Because I couldn't swivel things around much, I used S&B capsules with a little pad on small loads inside, and no screen in the wand, at a high temperature (1 or 2 o clock) with moderate to strong draw rate.
Each two small loads I crunched back into one cap for a third whopping draw.
Maybe a custom thing could be made this short for water I'm sure Elev8 could do it too!
But I did need to have the vape placed almost above me, and had to hold a bit too much in one hand with my type of pipe,
so I'm back to normal length whip again.
I'm going to try using aquarium air pipe for a whip this week and see if it tastes neutral enough to use!
I also saw a sweet new version of the all glass vapor path on the 7th Floor website, with only one bend now.

They said users complained of positioning problems with the old two bend model.
One bend seems easier to clean too.
