I only wish the herb chamber wasnt so darned large. But after my friends try it they recognize why so little is needed. To fill that even half way would be too much for me and a friend or two. I might need a new screen set up. Might get some colored tubing.
I even put the pwnt knockoff right on the end of the tubing. Perfect fit into any 14mm joint. My heat cover has yellow and green and he knob has green and blue so Id like to trade those for matching sometime down the line, when Im qualified to use the classified section!
Late to posting, but my SSV finally arrived over the weekend. I got a beautiful silver/green/black one. It's hard to see in the pic (actually didn't notice for a day or two) but the base is a really dark green. I'm really enjoying having a SSV in the lineup again. Forgot how nice it really was
I'm having a harder time than I remember using it with a water path! Maybe it's because i had a ground glass adapter before but no longer do, so maybe using it handsfree made it seem easier. Maybe i'll have to get another...
I bought the VaporGenie and then after seeing the light, made the big step up and got my SSV. I would rank the SSV above the VG.
Seriously though, of every whip vaporizer I've seen, in my eyes the SSV is the best as far as design goes. The fact that it works like a dream, cements it as my #1 choice.
I say it has the best design because it's so clean and simple, yet solid and also looks cool imo. The heating element is top of the line according to the manufacturer-- of course, every manufacturer says things like that-- but they actually have a page explaining why it's the best. Even down to the thick gauge cord and plug, they didn't cheap out on anything.
I like the open design because aside from the borosilicate glass cover, the element is 100% exposed. You know the air path is clean because you can see everything-- there's no chance of some nasty dust or mold building up inside some hidden space and tainting your vapor. The exposed design also pretty much eliminates the possibility of overheating. True, I could smash the heater cover and break the element because it's exposed, but to me the positives far outweigh the negatives.
One of these days I need to take some more pictures and eventually write up a detailed review.
:ssv:
does any one have any pics of the different aroma tops side by side?
I'm not sure which version I've got.
also bought some orange essential oil.

@New_World The silver surfer website has the old version and the new version, you can find out there.
Not more conducive per se....Does anyone feel certain heater covers are more conducive to water path use?
I'm using the standard hc with @Tweak's mini-wand mod atm, it's great for efficiency.
Not more conducive per se....
but each HC/wand combo has its own period of time to become accustomed, after which "it" becomes the most comfortable to use. Learning curve is involved.... BUT each of us will settle on their favorite way.
I see that you have found yours!
@grokit so the gg one actually hits heavier? Maybe my memory is okay after all
So I've been thinking lately about Alan's LSV mod, where he puts a HI heat port onto his LSV. Got me thinking, is this possible with glass? Make a glass HC that mates with the nano and HI stem.
It should be trivial, right? In theory, at least. You could use the gg hc, an angled adapter, and throw the stem in there.
That does look pretty damn cool
