Obviously it's your call at the end of the day, being well ventilated doesn't negate the fact you are bringing two elements close together which should really be kept apart, there are many unforseen things that can happen when bringing a highly flammable material together with an ignition source, eg your grip slipping on the dish for a split second causing iso to spill on to the HC or tripping over the cat....a fan is also an ignition source btw.tuk, I'm aware of Iso's volatility, but where I'm doing it is fairly well ventilated, plus I'll run a breeze from a fan just to be sure.
Using the ssv as the heat source for iso evap might only be slightly better(might even be worse if the temp is not stable) than a tub of hot water which is 100% safe, as you said: I'm not after instant evap, just more of a helping hand so to speak, if a tub of hot water is good enough for GreyWolf then why take the risk? .....it's your call tho just giving you a warning to be very careful around iso.
