Sapphire and Ruby inserts for bangers

I'm telling you guys I had the exact same problems that shooby describe it, poor unsatisfying vapor production and a sharper flavor. The only thing that has changed is the nut is now loosely tightened instead of very tight. I used to hear the metal expanding and now I don't. Vapor tastes great and I'm getting big awesome dabs like I did when I first had.

Really the whole airpath debate makes no sense, there is nothing in the inch-and-a-half air path of a liger air that would be different than quartz. Titanium is not reacting with or changing your vapor in any way. There is no chemical reaction. The only difference is the thermal dynamics at the dish level. Shooby used his liger air wrong, performing his own custom modifications that screwed up the experience. Then he posted negative reviews against CCA. Both CCA and Nautilus have been hooking him up. I feel that shooby really screwed Josh over by publishing these negative reviews without trying to troubleshoot the issue first. Look at his posts he liked it at first before it developed a performance issue.

Dude get OVER it, titanium is OUT. :puke::puke::puke:

Really, the same day Shooby comes back you come back at the same time to start dissing him? Seems awfully convenient, almost like you;ve been waiting....? You must have some affiliation with CCA to say any of that, nobody else would care. There's probably a thousand other people who left bad reviews for their janky ligers you can go harass elsewhere. Lol @ you following him to this thread

Hah and yet he posted all that s*** about Nautilus in the two CCA review threads. Josh hooked me up as well as many other people, I came back to the scene last Friday to see what was new I found a bunch of people ripping off CCAs design. Mostly I came back because I figured out the issue with my liger air was that it was over tightened.

My experience with quartz has not been great I see no advantage and no reason to go without having a heat shield and other benefits of the titanium system that Josh created. Honestly I think shooby just f***** up his Liger air and went around talking s*** like a punk. Sorry I don't respect people that don't understand what they're talking about and mislead people.

I was just owed a silver vapor bucket from buying a 3.0 in January. They tried replacing that one twice but all were messed up and the 3.0 was all gone and I was forced to wait.

So for a silver vapor bucket, they were generous enough to send me a rainbow Liger air with all joints, matching cap and dabber and obsidian insert. I am very please with the Liger air and the additional goodies

What are you talking about? Shooby said he was using the SiC insert in a BANGER. This thread is about Banger INSERTS. This isn't the Liger thread dude.

Really the whole airpath debate makes no sense, there is nothing in the inch-and-a-half air path of a liger air that would be different than quartz.

Not even the material?

Titanium is not reacting with or changing your vapor in any way.

So are you saying that a dab off of Ti is the same as quartz?

There is no chemical reaction.

Nobody said there was, but it's obvious that SOMETHING is happening at a level beyond our comprehension?

I feel that shooby really screwed Josh over by publishing these negative reviews without trying to troubleshoot the issue first. Look at his posts he liked it at first before it developed a performance issue.

I feel that you are a CCA Shill. It's so damn obvious, so please just stop, and contribute to this thread properly, or not at all. This isn't a place for you to vent your dissatisfaction with another (highly valued) member's opinions. IMO of course! :D

Sorry I don't respect people that don't understand what they're talking about and mislead people.

That's quite an accusation, and not even true, and not very nice, and against the rules. Please just stop before this thread is derailed any further. Pretty please? With a tasty full melt dab on top?

I missed @Shooby. Thanks for coming back. I'm gonna have to try this. I think you started something. Thanks for sharing.

Was there any special technique to keeping it on the stand? I would think the axial coils would make this an easy way to attempt something similar, no?

Not really. This is where your inner macgyver will have to kick in. open your misc draw or head to your garage and see what you got to support or hold anything. Start with a base and then find clamps, bungees and what may work with your base to securely hold it down and in place. I tried looking for some types of different soldering holders but they all have an angle which sucked.

It is surprising that no one makes a hot coil stand to hold a coil still when its hot and not being used.

Ah yes they invented the coveted metal boof banger. :whoa:

No one cares about dabbing off metal in 2019 and most people that have a sensitive palette (or a respect for the material they're dabbing) tend to want to keep metal out/away from the airpath for a reason. If you're gonna come in here talking smack at least come with some logical stuff.

Anyway to keep this on topic - I am curious about this "convertible coil" technique @Shooby showed off... Seems interesting enough to maybe give it a go.

I just want to better understand what makes a dab done in this style (where you heat it up, then drop the dab as it's cooling) better than a dab with constant heat... I'm not sure that I notice a difference between coldstart (ala the peak, or insert dabbing) and dabbing into an already hot surface either, in terms of effects.

edit: wait im high and didnt realize this wasnt a banger thread

If you look back in the CCA review threads you will understand the history here. Shooby started advertising for nautiluses products in the CCA review thread.

There's a lot of thermal dynamics involve on the dish level. The reason why you wouldn't want to dab off of titanium directly is that it has low thermal mass. You get way way more thermal Mass with a sapphire insert. That's why it hits so well. Furthermore when titanium is overheated like on a titanium bail then it becomes porous but that is not an issue with the liger because the temperatures are lower when you're using a liger with a dish

IMO based on decarboxylation research, I theorize that more THCA and THC is vaporized in a cold start; versus more THC/A is oxidized into CBN during a cool-down dab. CBN being stoney, THC being high.

The Peak is a good device for comparing uptemps vs cool-downs.

No thanks, this is the Adapt Tech sapphire/ruby insert thread, which really encompasses all gemstone inserts, and SiC, quartz, etc. I'm not interested in CCA or Liger. If I was I would go to that thread where the discussion belongs. We have heard you loud and clear. Best!

Dude, first off, you need to stop with this CCA talk. Wrong thread. Now i know what it feels like to be trolled!

Second of all, your making shit up and saying shit you have no knowledge or truth of. Actually, your just assuming shit now.

Third, this is a forum where i am allowed to post reviews on what i think of a product or device as you are too. But there is no reason to make shit up or assume shit. CCA doesnt pay me, FC doesnt pay me to leave positive reviews. And Adapted tech never paid me either. CCA gave me some free shit to make up for their complete lack of service in every aspect of business but that doesnt mean I have to lie for them and write shit i dont believe is true. The liger is what it is, stop trying to create issues here. Go enjoy your Liger and life and let the rest be!

Are you really going to make me bust out the enail. Mother fucker

Whatever dude. I feel like you had a huge misconception as to why you were noticing a difference between the quartz and titanium devices. Like I said I had the same issue after trying to tighten my liger up like yours. I get you made a mistake but I don't think it would be right to continue promoting quartz over titanium without examining if there was another issue. Spreading misconceptions and false truth is the same as lying.

The stuff about the AH coils getting over tighten make sense. When August uses his coils with quartz they are not under great pressure. It's the only reasonable explanation why you and I both had a change in the performance of the liger air.

It's too bad we didn't get shooby to do any exploration into why you started getting poor performance from the liger. It would have been interesting to quantifiably show if there was a difference in between the actual dish temperature versus the temperature reported on the cube.

I begged you, with a phat tasty dab of full melt on top, but now you make me have to report you. I guess you must get bored in the CCA Liger threads.... I get it brah!

Sure think what you want and voice it as you see fit, personally I think you were wrong. That you had a misconception about why there was a performance loss, and that you were mistaken when you told people it was due to the vapor path. Just because you think something doesn't mean you're using the product right. If you're using the product wrong then people should know that so that they can take your review with a grain of salt.

I'm not, i'm reporting you for breaking the rules for derailing the thread and not staying on topic, double posting, and not being nice.

I very much love differing opinions and discussing alternative technologies, but only when on topic and respectful. Have a nice day now.

Hey moderators please be sure to clean out the other thread as well. No fair for me to be reported talking about different technology while shooby is doing the same thing in both the CCA threads.
