Gotta say, imo Pete's been kinda vindicated given that I can't watch a football game without seeing 45 commercials for legalized sports betting

It is sad that he never got inducted into the HOF. He certainly tried the rest of his life to get his ban lifted.

As far as anyone knows, he never bet for or against his own team during those betting years.

Betting is now completely out of control. Not a good thing for those with addiction problems.

One of the few TV dads who wasn't a fool. He really demonstrated the dignity and challenges of working men, husbands, and fathers. He was able to express anger and disappointment without seeming frightening or weak and he was always able to take solace and criticism from the wife he loved. Not really what you think of maybe when you think of the show but a key part of its classic formula, acted so convincingly you could only believe him.
