I decided to post this thread just to let fellow FCers know my experience with Molino Glass, an online retailer of hand-blown glass bubblers, bongs, etc. I cannot speak yet on the quality of the glass as I have not received my order in over a month now, but I can speak about the falsehood behind their website’s claim of “reliable customer service.” Forgive the long post, but I want to lay out the entire story so far. There are a lot of online glass retailers, and my experience with most of them has been great. Not so at all with Molino Glass.
I ordered a bubbler from them on January 13 and paid $15 shipping, which I thought was a little exorbitant, but it's glass, and that's what they charge, so okay. Their website says that shipments will arrive "to your door in 1-2 weeks."
I waited a week and never heard anything, so I emailed asking about the status of the order. A rep emailed me back a day later and said "order is in process and we will send it soon." Okay, a little disappointing, but perhaps the next couple days. We've already passed the "to your door in one week," but we can still meet the two weeks maybe.
I waited another 11 days with no notice from Molino Glass, which at that point made almost three weeks since my card was charged, so I emailed them again, asking what was going on and when would the order would ship already. I got a response that evening: "I understand your frustration. Sorry we are extremely busy these days, it didn't get shipped yet but we will send it out in the next few days and you will get shipment notification then." So they are so busy that they can't take something from a shelf and ship it? No other explanation but "we've been busy" and this is just under three weeks since I placed the order.
Low and behold, the very next day I get shipment notification. Did they overnight it since it took three weeks to ship when they charge $15 shipping and promise “to your door in 1-2 weeks”? Nope. They didn’t even upgrade me to UPS. They just sent it the slowest way possible or at least I have to assume they did.
So another week and a half goes by and still no bubbler. I email Mobius and make what I think is a very fair request: I ask for a refund on my $15 shipping. I felt that was very reasonable since it had at this point been almost a month since I placed this order. I had clearly not gotten my $15 worth of shipping.
Of course, no one responded to my request. Two days later I emailed again and said, “Another day and still no order received. This makes two days short of a full month since I was charged for this order, including $15 shipping. And a full day without any response to my question. I guess you are super busy today also?”
Three hours later, I get this: “Super busy indeed, no need to nag every day, probably today.”
The mail had already run that day, so no. I couldn’t believe after all that, this guy insults me. I have submitted my story, with the entire email thread attached, to Molioino Glass’s website form and of course have been ignored.
It’s now been one full calendar month plus two days since I ordered this bubbler and I still don’t have it. I kind of don’t even want it anymore at this point.
This has been the absolute worst online retail experience I have ever had. Their claim on their website that they have “reliable customer service” I guess means forgetting to send out product and insulting and then flat ignoring their paying customers.
