Looks like August is the final month for RBT, going out in style, with one last classic contest:

I think he is doing another live video with Lee tonight, should be more details on selling the final stock!

Just spent all morning learning GIMP to make my entry lol. Hope I win! Fun contest, regardless

Oh I forgot to mention, they are also trading splinters for vinyl records too! On top of the contest, I think it's like 15 records, depending on the quality rarity, for an SV2 or something lol help add to Lee's collection! Same email

Hey @bossman, just wanted to let you know that admiring your setup pics has thermally extracted all my beer money again. First the FW7, now this:

Your shots of the svelte Rim C and note of its Arctic Fox compatibility were enough for @Shit Snacks PSAs about RBT dead stock to seal it.

Throw in a King Kooling Kit and tonight I’m gonna party like it’s 2019!
Heck yeah V2 on a Rim C. I'll go try that in honor of your new addition; I've only had the iHeat on mine so far

Damn, that was easy: I didn't even set anything, just put it on in place of the iHeat and with resistance unlocked the Rim C seems pretty spot on so far. Go Arctic Fox!

It’s just an elegant package, esp for what it does.

I remember what you said about the heater being easy to overpower but I don’t mind it. If things get too warm, ramping up the draw cools them right down quick.

can no longer edit, but yeah new brand for the fall, going to be producing some glass stem designs, glass heaters, a different type of heater and cooling disc design, etc. Lee will still be helping out for distribution and sales of the new products (which I believe will all be mass-produced, outsourced?)

There are plenty of SplinterV2 now on sale 30% off for the rest of the month making them like $70 plus shipping, but Milaana3 are in short supply, still some left for around $175 with the sale... Not sure if there will ever be more of either after these? (international orders are fine btw, just have to pay more for the shipping and VAT)

Prizes for the contest will include two SplinterV2, a Milaana3, the very last SplinterZ US Custom (in a gorgeous bubinga seen in the video) aaaaand a ZionM!

There will be another ZionM auction at some point as well, no news on any Milaana2...

Prizes! in honor of @MrPeanut

Since everyone is showing off their fancy Milaanas and ZionMs, figured I'd round it out with some Splinter love as my secondhand bunbinga US Custom Z just arrived.

It functions great but still trying to dial in the TCR.. I nearly combusted at 370° using my ZV2 presents (I've settled on 47W, TCR140 unlocked for ZV2), had to lower the wattage. Does anyone with both ZV2 and US Custom use different TCR settings?

My ZV2 in TCR has impressed me so much, 1 hit at 360 nice and terpy, 1 long hit at 390 absolutely crushes the bowl insanely thoroughly and evenly with no stirring or thought required. I want to get this new one to that level in TCR 🤌

I kept the TCR160, but the cold resistance is what varies between units... I also keep the wattage at 45 or 50 regardless

snacks is dead on, the US custom resistance trends closer to .4 or slightly under i think and the chinese ones float around .44. I do like my wattage around 55 though because it will go to temp and ready to hit in like 3 seconds. I feel like more power up front is more battery efficient too.

nim what size balls are those? they look about perfect. I tried that trick with 3mm ones and they're just too damn small, so you need a ton of them, and cleaning is a PITA

Oh except my ZV1 is on the lower side too, more like .39 and my ZV2 was like .41 though perhaps that one would scorch on me less if I raised it... And yeah the wattage is just a limit, shouldn't really be using that max value much unless you're really ripping it with a high temperature?

Oh yeah 3 mm are definitely too small, you won't at least 4 mm I think 6 mm are pretty good though!

My Bubinga is at TCR 150 and the nearest ZV2 is 140. I do think my customs are less accurate than my ZV2s, but only in that they extract more aggressively at lower temps, something I encourage in all my Zs.

I switched them all to Celsius to reduce button pressing and don't really remember what the temps mean now anyway

6mm  I have also tried with 3mm in a tinymight stem and agree its not worth it. These are just right.

Thanks for the TCR tips guys, yea just had to lower my resistance a bit and I've got it roasting nicely now 👌

Hello,

I just buy a Splinter Z Custom US, I would like a cooling kit, But I do not know what diameter to choose ?

It is marked in the notice : Do not use standard 19mm !

I imagine that the kit at VapeFiend are not compatible ?

Would you have a suggestion (I am in Europe) ?

Thanks.

Hey there, nice! The XL8R kit would be perfect, works with all RBT devices  Enjoy!

Ok thanks, but on vapefiend is however specify :

Warning: These mouthpieces may not fit US custom Splinters and Splinter Z sold prior to January 2019.

How can I know if it will go on my unit (no recorded date) ?

What is the : Do not use standard 19mm in notice ?

Indeed, the XL8Rs have a shorter joint that should fit all RBT devices. Some regular 18mm (aka 19mm) will be too long at the joint and touch the screen (hence the disclaimer).

Here is a pic of my US Custom Z with a short XL8R stem exactly like on vapefiend.

Hey FC,

Randomly last week I received a Splinter with a small crack in it from Lee (even though I had no correspondence with him about receiving a splinter). I emailed him to resolve it to see if it was a mistake but never received an answer So I guess I'm in the possession of a Splinter V2 now (I've been interested in getting into 510s).

I am assuming the crack is merely superficial, as it originate at the base and continues about 1/3 up the body. It actually took me a minute to find it because it is so hairline thin. Safe assumption I presume?

Also I am looking specifically for a single 18650 DNA mod and found a lost vape Hyperion 100c fits that bill. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Well, congrats! The crack shouldnt affect performance, just make sure you keep it well waxed so it doesnt grow. I use my splinter mainly with a lost vape thelema and find the native software works well for it.
