another thing to consider is the pre-milaana 3's were all handmade by ryan here in the u.s .... the milaana 3's are made in china ... i have a 1.5 and a 2 and decided against picking up a three because i liked the usa artisan made vape vibe (it's what drew me to the milaana in the first place).
God damnit, do I NEED a 2? Probably not but....ha!
I really enjoy the 3 for a micro. It's a fun vape to get very tasty hits. Do people actually use it through a wpa? I love it for the flavor and perfect clouds. My wife is starting to use it, which makes sense because she loves driving manual cars 😂

Yes, you need it. One of the finest vapes imo and different enough from a 3 to be worth it.

If I weren't lazy I'd go back and search for images of the spalted 1.5s. AJS seems to come to mind. Fun to see pieces appear and reappear. Adds a legend-like dimension to the Mi.

But as someone who has only used the 3 and loves it, I don't think its worth the hassle or expense of constantly searching for a used 2. The 3 is such a fine piece of equipment for me that the 2 just isnt on my list of future vapes to own and I'm not losing a second of sleep over it. For the same reason that once I own a Lambo I'm not trying to own a 2nd Lambo. This is JMO of course.
I'm sure that 2 is better, but ignorance has never ever been more blissful..

If they had lied and said the M3 was handmade in the USA and you owned one, would you have known it was made in China?

Actually @AJS has an earlier spalted maple unit, it is one of the first batch of Milaana V2 (I actually explained all the versions in the beginning of this thread, it goes, Milaana, Milaana V1, Milaana V2, then Milaana 1.5, Milaana 2, Milaana 3) some differences are subtle, there is difference in early Milaana based on the batch, but Milaana began exotic with V2 of the original Milaana1, then 1.5 is basically 1 bodies with 2 internals I think... The 2 has more changes overall, then the 3 is mass produce style, and yeah they're all great, I wouldn't really say any are better than any others, slight differences is all!

i don't own one (M3) so i can't answer the question. i'm not talking about performance ... i'm just attracted to custom artisan type vapes ... and since i have two of the handmade milaanas i see no need for me (not you or anyone else) purchasing one ...

i'm sure the M3 works great ... but an informed decision for the OP on purchasing a vape is best ... he may or may not care about where or how a vape is made but at least he has more information to base HIS decision on want he wants to purchase.

Lol thats pretty much what got me looking for a 2, after I had already gotten my 3... I wanted something handmade by Ryan vs mass produced in China. Not that theres anything wrong with the 3 at all, I just wanted that hand crafted USA good good.

Agreed on being different enough from the 3 to be worth it. Put a few more stems through my 2 last night and I'm really starting to pick up on the differences between the 2 & 3 in terms of where one shines over the other type of thing.

Also agreed on the "get it and dont look back" .... just saying that is beautiful! Love the matching cap to body there...

Aaaand on the flip side as somebody who bought a 3 first, loves it, but decided that I wanted to get a 2 also....it was worth every second IMO. I didn't lose any sleep over it, thats a bit extreme lol. Just told myself if and when I see one pop up, I'll try and grab it. Sure enough not too long after that RBT posted some for sale on IG and I grabbed one.

Then again, if I could afford Lambo, I would want more than one... one for Saturday and one for Sunday.

As for your last question, interesting scenario. I think I'd naturally be inclined to believe the manufacturer anyway, so no.

If I picked up a Mi3 without knowing anything a single thing about it, then no, I could not tell you if it were mass produced in China or handmade in USA. However, IMO - there is a clear difference when handling the two side by side. If somebody were to ask me to guess which one was hand made vs mass produced in China I think I would have a much better chance at guessing that correctly.

The 3 is still really good and both it and my 2 see nearly equal use. I wouldn't search out a used 2; if anything just keep an eye on rbt.md on IG if you wanted to pick one up. I wouldn't say one or the other is "better", just different, which can be a good enough reason to own one. The 3 has a different feel in hand with the size and weight difference but also in use, my 3 having an increase in heat. My walnut/sapele 2 is light and feels more steampunk with the pronounced corners pushing against your palm. I'd buy a second Mi2 over almost every vape I own except maybe another VapBong or P80. I'm a huge RBT fan, what can I say.

If I wouldn't have known where they were made I wouldn't have guessed the 3 was made in China. I would have told you the glass looks thinner (I believe it's the same) or wondered what the wood is (Ipe), or the metal top plate (copper right (I am stoned) vs brass). Mine runs hot so it fits a certain use case better than my 2 if I'm feeling rushed. I can always feather the button on my 3.

I just really enjoy knowing that Ryan built my 2. He bought thick german glass, and handcrafted these babies in my good ol' neighbor to the south, the USA. That has more meaning to me and more soul and it makes the thought of a third Milaana in my collection give me a big smile.

I thought a lot about the comparison discussion this week between Milaana 2 and 3 and I surprisingly find myself picking the 3 as my favourite and this is after sitting down with both and direct comparing (over and over and over again)

Im not sure what it is but i think its the heater temp on the 3 - its perfect for me.The Milaana 3 'smolders' to me is the best way I can put it and in my opinion captures the best essence of pot ive had from any vape I even prefer it now to smoking which is crazy

My 2 looks better in every way but I also take the 3 for hand feel

You should be able to remove the bottom plate and then tighten the lock ring that secures the button.

Impressive i finally got around to fixing it and you were exactly right the nut holding the button in was almost off and back onto the wires - That was an easy fix thanks everyone for the info in here loving my 3 back to full power I guess my pulsing is a little aggressive on this one

With my new filter setup, using the Mi is such an experience. From sophisticated flavor to giant fluffy clouds, I feel as though I've reached the pinnacle of dry herb vaping and it just doesn't get any better than this.

I catch myself daydreaming about it. The visceral connection you have to the heater... The slight quiet whistle the device makes when the perfect slow steady draw is taken... I'm so happy to have a Milaana in my collection.

Your method (fury screen on top of basket screen) reminds me of the DIY dosing caps that were posted semi recently. It sure makes a difference to air flow with that extra layer of diffusion right? I haven't tried that in my Milaana's but it's worked wonders in other devices.

I just bought an amber and a cobalt. I have one of the clears, and it is the coolest stem I have ever used. Better than the XL8Rs. Highly recommended, you should get em while you can. EDIT: yes, each. I paid 82 shipped for 2.

that extra screen by itself only increases draw resistance a tiny bit. But i also have another 2 screens with a cotton filter sandwiched in it, at the mouth-end of the stem. That definitely increases draw resistance but I I like. I can draw harder which feels more normal to me. And it eliminates the tickle on my throat that is so prevalent with the stock RBT stem. So its completely worth it for me.

I picked up a used Milaana 3 from the classifieds. My intention was to just have it to tide me over until I get a good regulated portable, and then resell it. Now... I'll probably be buried with it.

I haven't vaped any flower in the past 2 years. Concentrates only. But this thing has made flower great again. In only a few seconds, I get a huge flavorful hit off of a pinch of herb. And it tastes like a dab! My issue with flower vapes has been the flavor fall-off after the first hit or 2. The solution... use a vape that cashes the load in 2 hits!

I've used convection vapes, but didn't like having to suck a lot of hot air to get vaporization going. But the short cooling stem takes care of that issue nicely.

Also... all this talk of technique had scared me. I don't like complicated technique. But, I don't really have to "think" at all when using this thing. It's all "feel". When I feel the vapor, I know to let off the button in a beat or 2. And I get a super tasty cloud. Every time.

So glad I bought this thing. I'm bummed I just got into RBT after they closed. Though it looks like they maybe moved to doing monthly 'drops" on IG?

You sound like me. Especially getting bummed about getting into RBT after it's already basically closed lol.

I got the 3 used on EntEx, and then got my Mi2 from his recent IG drop directly from RBT less than a month ago. He should have another drop coming up soon I believe? Some sort of art-collab. Not sure if the drops will be an on-going thing or just until he runs out of leftover material but we shall see.
