PV, well said. I actually just got my SSV back from 7th floor and it felt all new and shiny again. I did miss taking those huge hits, one after the other, but I went back to the PD to finish off the evening perfectly. I love that every hit is a fresh hit and being able to conserve high grade medicine is always a bonus. That in itself justifies the cost for anyone even contemplating buying one.

Alrighty. So, I sat down for a good 1 on 1 with this bad boy. I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. I still can't make clouds every hit, but then again I was watching a movie so it was dark. I will say the unit works really well for what small amount of bud I used, I am cheeched. I love kief in the thing, the taste is amazing.

I'm leaving some buds out over night ( in the Billy Bowl :D ) to get nice and dry to see if that has any change.

( In fact, I kind of think this herb isn't fully cured, the stems snap easily, but it just seems a like a little drying out could do wonders. It kind of makes me wonder if my VaporWarez does indeed need to be sent in or not.... time will tell. )

Anyways, Day 1; Success. Now I need to get a cool signature picture with all my vapes like everyone else. >.< Who was it making those again? I'm ripped, refresh my memory...

edit///

Enjoy your new PD man. Just like a woman...you got to learn how she likes you to put your lips on her before the fun can really start. brow Enjoy the movie...nerver saw that one.

See...you and your friends are the reason I'm almost too embarased to keep the damn pipe. If noobies, and someone that got their VG weeks after myself can have it mastered...well then maybe it isn't for everyone (myself only I guess). We'll see. Too tired to care right now. I'm sober and have the wonderful taste of burnt popcorn in my mouth. F@#K IT for today. Tomorrow is another day to fight the fight.

DD
Oh dude, don't worry. You *will* get the hang of it. Check out my thoughts in the VG thread.

Weed farmer sounds loke a pretty sweet and righteous job. Go for it.

Just guessing, >95% are cherry, we just ordered another batch from the east coast last week. Cherry is durable, and has a great weight/volume ratio or specific gravity. That gives it the proper insulating value. Cherry is a renewable and sustainable North American hardwood. Cherry also darkens with age and exposure to the air.

aged on left ; half buttered / half raw cherry on the right (exposed a couple of weeks)

Visible vapor is a bit mis-leading and sometimes elusive. In order to see what is happening, I've suggested a shaded desk lamp in a darkened room, or stream of sunlight through a curtained window.

Vapor cloud shot that crazy vid where the light was perfect. And VTAC too. Once you start to see it in those 'best' conditions you trust and feel that there is vapor being made even when it isn't so visible. Lots of factors involved including relative humidity (moisture in the air).

Dry material is a big plus. We set ours out on a plate and it sits on the TV set before grinding.

Hennessey, I don't own a PD...yet. It will be the next vape I purchase, no later than March, but hopefully sooner. The two units are so different they are hard to compare.

I would suggest the Extreme for you if your priorities are versatility (bag and whip and fan) and you like to vape with friends. Oh, and if you want to spend twice as much as the PD.

I would suggest the PD if your priorities are stealth, efficiency, durability and price.

Both companies give top notch customer service.

The choice is personal, so you have to figure it out yourself. Both models are very good at what they do. For me, I think once I get a PD the E will start collecting dust, in terms of personal use. I would still break out the E for group sessions, which rarely happen around here.

Good evaluation stickstones. I would add a couple of addtional benefits for the PD-portability and pleasure. It's easily transferred (when warmed up) from house to car (with included car adapter), and then to a friends house if you like. You're even good to go with the Vapolution battery pack. And I think it's safe to say that all PD owners get pleasure from using and handling the unit. I continue to be amazed at the hits I can get from such a small bowl.

Use the Extreme or other big hitting vape for those times when you want a lot of vapor in a hurry, and the PD for leisurely vaping with measured doses. It can't be beat for efficient use of the best types of herb.

Spiral (eventually stickstones)...for you valiant effort in regards to the methodology of the VG, I'd be honored if you guys want me to make a signature image for your PD. Don't forget the other ones are there in the picture thread, but I don't think they are personal enough for you guys IMO. A small example of something you like/simular would help, but I can try to make it up from scratch if you'd like. Please let me know.

My pleasure,

Not sure how you mean, folks hating on the E. Nobody here doing that, I think. Seems most folks give it the award as the best multi delivery vape. Rather they might be saying consider the way you intend to use a vape then find the one best suited to you. Lifestyle contributes to the preference of one vape over another, more than performance ,when it comes to the handful of good vapes. There is no best vape, says so at the top of every page... :2c:

The Vapolution batt-pack is viable, however they use a 2.5mm plug and we use a 2.1mm x 5.5mm Type M DC plug. It makes the connection a litt;e iffy. Any NiMH rechargeable 12volt (10 AA cells) pack available at hobby shops (with a 2.1mm plug) will do the job.

I don't think the 60-70 minute vapor time (from a warm start and fully charged pack) is worth the trouble. I think for true portability, it sounds like the Vapor Genie would best suit me. Again everybody's needs are different.

Hennessy1414, there is a chance this vape isn't for you. Once it is warm it is warm, 24/7. It's not designed for a quick toke up once a week.

This thread is long, but will answer most questions and may be worth your time to read through. We want informed, happy customers, not someone buying it who doesn't know what to expect.

You need to decide what kind of vape fits your lifestyle, If you see 30 minutes as a difficulty. . .
a) you don't understand this vape's function or
b) this vape is not the best one for you...

Good luck making a choice that is right for you.

30 minutes is a difficulty because i need it sooner hahahah :disgust: but seriously will power be draining from your house if you leave it plugged 24/7? could i get that wood even if some one else got it?

It's less than 8 watts. Two kids room night lights. Made to run 24/7 or if you live your life by a schedule you can get a timer so the unit is ready when you are. VTAC uses a cool timer

Go check the maple page for what is currently available, two left. Just click on the maple unit in the catalog. The pictures all link to something...

I sent you an e-mail earlier and would like to take sales discussions outside the thread. This is a great place to share info, but I'm not into seeing it as a sales platform. E-mail me about purchase questions, either through the link under my avatar or the links on our site.

Questions, comments and suggestions always welcome, but I'm going to bed soon.

Gotta add some more kudos here for Tom and Pammy and their stellar customer service. There was a slight problem with 2 of my vapor tubes (a little bit of polyethylene flashing had obscured some of the vapor path, and I was worried, probably without merit, it might melt, so I didn't use them). I emailed them with my concern, and they shipped out 2 new vapor tubes WITHOUT asking me to return the flawed ones first. Instead, they said I could hang onto them and gave me some tips on how to fix them so I would have 5 tubes total. Even included a thank-you card with a beautiful picture of Oregon. You guys give some seriously good vibes.

My new routine is to come home from work, plug in the PD with the aromatherapy cup on, take the dog for a run and come home feeling good to a great smelling house and a unit ready to vape.

Can you give some tips on cleaning out the plastic? Mine actually have it in them as well, but I never gave it a second thought. Now that I think about it though, it's probably not the best thing. I'm gonna try and just use my pearl stir tool to scrape them out.... hopefully it works.

Oh, and I've used the PD for a few loads tonight. It's working pretty good. I can get decent size hits now, I think I need to just slow down more. I've also noticed less is more, meaning, less weed in the tube, more vapor is produced (but not in subsequent hits, just the first one).

Damn, a bamboo skewer? Getting all fancy on me? I don't have any of those.... :(

The pearl tool works decently. I'm afraid I'm going to break it. I don't think I am going to bother getting most of this stuff out though. It's too tedious and I'm not sure if it's even worth my time, this shit can't possibly melt or produce any kind of vapor... right?

I guess the only thing I'd have to worry about is inhaling tiny particles, but I really doubt that would happen.

I'm really starting to get the hang of this thing and it's growing on me. I've figured out a good draw speed. Kief works really well in this thing I find. It was kind of funny actually, I was shaking my kief tray to get some crystals in the middle and in one hand I had my tube, the other the tray. I didn't want to spill any and perform a balancing act, so I just sucked up some kief with the tube. Kinda reminded me of cutting lines years ago

TBH, I can't wait until I get a new batch of bud. I think this stuff just isn't ideal for vaping. It gets me high, but I have a hard time enjoying the vapor sensations and actions than with other strains I've had.

BTW, anyone have any experience with shwag/shitty weed in the PD? I figured this thing was kinda designed for high-end herbs, but I'm just curious.

I own a Purple-Days, VaporWarez and VaporGenie.

I attached some tubing to the PD wand and vaped a load in it. It worked a lot better but my tubing is just a little too long. I'm actually contemplating making a sort of 'nipple' attachment, because where I currently have my PD setup at, right next to my bed, I like to lay back and read, so I could potentially leave it in my lap and take a hit. :) My cat has taken a liking to it. She's been sniffing it all evening.

Glad you are getting the hang of it, Spiral. It takes time, I think. Man I hope Pammy doesn't see your post, she keeps bugging me for a 'bedside' unit (she has quite a collection going).

KeepCalm, thanks, we try... and here is an explanation for any that are wondering what was up...

Some vapor tubes got out with a bit of plastic in rhe vapor tube. Appologies to any that got a tube in this condition.

That little flash of plastic has been addressed. If anyone has a tube with that bit of plastic let us know if you can't get rid of it, we'll take care of it

The vapor tube hole is 7/32" and that size bit will clear the path nicely. Most hardwares sell them loose for a couple of dollars.

We have changed the mfg process a little to avoid that in the future, BTW it won't melt or vaporize.

Why is it there? How did you change the process? The vapor tips are 9/32" and slip into a 9/32" hole, snug, but needed to be a bit more permanent.

You all know how I feel about the purity of the vapor path, so adhesives were out of the question.

Round hole / round tube = snug . . round hole / slightly out of round tube = permanent. . . so a needlenose plier in the back end (on one wall surface) and a bit of squeeze = slightly out of round. This caused a bit of a burr on some tips and when they were driven into the vapor stem a bit of flash popped up and was not caught in some cases.

Every vapor tip is now honed after the squeeze to get rid of any burr, and after assembly the tubes are double checked by a good set of eyes (not mine).

Please let us know if you need help with this issue. We want you all to be happy. :)

Hennesy, the wood types available all fall into the proper density range and provide the needed insulation and durability.
