If there's any Canadians with burnt out atomizers, I'm interested in buying them. Only looking for the new style atomizer!

Yo @Riggs128 - early adopter here (with no problems or issues ... so far (or yet :ugh:) ... and curious about this "new style atomizer" you mentioned. Have they improved the atomizer in some way over what was included early on?

Thanks

They made a few small changes to the ceramic/silicone piece and to the metal casing. Here's a picture of the newest style atomizer

this is what the old style atomizer looks like

Thank you so much @Riggs128 for the info & the PICS!! Wonder if that new design helps with the spillover that causes the bowl to get stuck to the atomizer plate (sometimes)? Tho the only time I had that prob was with the Sneaky Pete SiC bowl. Been using a quartz bowl more, since it doesn't leak thru like the ceramic does when you're passing the Peak around at a party or festival ... and don't stay with the q-tiping upkeep as well as one should.

At least I know if(when?) my atomizer tanks it might be worth trying the new one.

Might be a moot point with that new Carta from Focus Vape that is coming real soon. Seems Puffco put their efforts into the hip/design/looks factor with all the dif colors and such rather than listening to feedback and improving to a version 2 ... which the Carta could be with the ability to set your own temp (coming), Ti & quartz buckets, removable batteries and a price that's $130 less.

And potentially a lawsuit from Puffco?

For those interested, the ruby insert for the Peak is on sale at constant gems for $125!

https://constantgems.com/collections/all-products/products/pre-order-ruby-insert-peak-size

material seems nice, but multiple heat-ups for one hit is not my jam.

still not having luck w the SiC inserts either. i just use stock bowl and a sapphire pearl and green/red works nicely. i have one of the new opaque bottom splash guard inserts from EQ coming along with one of those marble caps. the puffco bubble cap moves around way too much for my liking. hoping the insert is a step up from the stock bucket. will definitely update whenever it arrives.

Multiple heat ups?

The ruby insert takes more power to heat, honestly my buddy hit it and wasn't super impressed. The Puffco is already too unreliable to want to use an insert that needs max temp every time, just asking for abuse IMO. The fact that all these inserts are available for the Peak but you can't change any of the temperature control settings is a huge oversight. Future versions need an app where insert materials can be chosen and compensated for.

Haven’t been on this site for a while,a lot was going on in my life.
Good to be back and my VAS for the Puffco is still ever present. A portable water tool for concentrates in a nice pouch to take with you on the road! What’s not to like?
Apparently a lot!
Reading through the last dozen pages or so was rather depressing.
Few posts about flavor or other exciting things. Instead post after post about malfunctions, people rebuilding their vaporizer, shitty atomizers, cumbersome customer service ...
On and on, page after depressing page!!
I was truly hoping that the company had stepped up their game by now. After all this is not a cheap device.
I guess I’ll check back in a couple of months or spend my $ on something different.

Thanks for ][/QUOTE]
Have a look at the Focus Carta on the horizon, it's quite similar. Or the Dr Dabber Switch which has amazing customer service and a device that's built better apparently.

Thanks for your suggestions!
I already looked at the Dr Dabber switch and it's simply too big for my purposes. I like to travel to hot springs and festivals and stuff and this is just not going to work.
I'm not familiar with the Focus Carta yet.

Just got a pretty great uptemp hit on my buddies Peak a few minutes ago - some fresh pressed rosin on green, plus one ruby pearl: the Ruby really helped mop the oil up and milk fat.

I thought pearls would be stupid in the Peak but they actually work very well in my experiences.

Btw, mine was weird at first but now works well. I use it as I intended, and have my enail unit boxed up til further notice really.

I had some issues with atomizers and stuff... but I was also trying the SiC more often and getting bad results. idk if it was actually the atomizers or what, but one eventually cracked. I sent pictures and video and a bunch of back and forth with CS and they sent me 2 new atomizers.

New one has worked great so far and I've been happy, but really wanting to upgrade from the stock bucket. I've given up on SiC. I just dump the atomizer and cover straight into iso once daily now and have had no issues since.

1 or 2 ruby/sapphire pearls work well for me, helping reduce pooling for sure. For what it's worth, I got the puffco bubble cap with my order so I've never actually used the stock cap, cos I heard it sucks badly.

so what's the best functioning and tasting insert available ATM? Opaque quartz?

Dude a couple pages back said he likes sapphire the best for taste, SiC for clouds... Not so sure about it since both my buddy and I could NOT get any desirable, repeatable results from the SiC (and I tried both inserts on the market)

I don't feel like messing with expensive sapphire/ruby, I like the splash guard design on the quartz inserts, and dabbing off opaque quartz has been great for me in an enail setup the past year, so that's why I went for the opaque insert.

Mostly I just want to dab off anything but ceramic, but for now, it's too convenient to not use.

I was told by a retailer yesterday that Puffco increased the price on the Peak and MSRP is $380. What was it before? Apparently there have been some changes/improvements? Or is the The Herb Cafe full of it?

stock ceramic bowl?

I wonder why some power users have zero problems with their atty's etc?

Hey guys, The new atomizer design is made so we don't break our atomizers while unscrewing them dirty. If the atomizer is dirty, the insert can and will stick to the ceramic heater. If you twist, pull, remove the insert while they are stuck together, a pin comes out of the heater and the atomizer is dead. That and thermal shock breakage are the 2 early death scenarios that keep happening. The New Notched top keeps us from twisting the insert and heater while trying to unscrew the atomizer to soak. It's also the reason they suggest soaking in Iso before dismantling the atty.
I can tell you that while these are easy to break, and DOA atty's can happen, IF you take care of your Peak atomizer you can get well over a month of heavy daily use out of it, maybe several months.

I wanted to keep you guys updated. I got my Peak back after a much longer wait this time...Man I still love it.

I may be a little upset about the longevity, being on Base #3 and Atomizer #7 isn't exactly low maintenance. But that being said I absolutely love this device and will end up buying the V2 whenever it comes out as well, as long as the Carta or something else isn't better by then. The Peak really is a nice product when it's working, and it works most of the time when you maintain it...until it doesn't.

I really do love the Switch too, and the silicone top seal and quartz insert are a game changer on it. Plus I got an extra battery pack for the Switch so I can literally dab for a week on it without power or needing to charge. But between the size and how easily it is to learn to milk a hit for every last drop, I use the Peak more when it's working. It took me a while to dial in the Switch to that sweet spot, I Cold start and uptemp dabs in both units.
With the Peak I put in a big dab, start on blue, get a nice, terpy hit, wait until it's ready for another sesh mode and move it to green for the next 2 or 3 hits, then I move to red for a thick cloud to finish it off. With the Switch there are SO MANY setting that it took a bit longer to figure out. It has 25 settings, 5 colors with 5 settings each color. I start on the 4th Purple (4/25) in crystal mode there and work my way up to the 4th aqua (14/25) setting to finish it off.

Also I got a Bubble cap and tether for the Peak!!! It is really nice, it hits as well as my aftermarket cap, much better than stock IMO.

OK, I know I may kick myself for this in a year or 2. But I just put in an order for a very nice custom klein for the Peak, I sure hope they keep that glass connection the same for the V2.0! lol I think the function is OK on the Peak glass but there is definitely room for improvement with a nice custom, colored piece especially.

I also put in an order for another Switch custom piece (maybe baby FTK) and picked up a Mav Glass recycler for it. It's Purple Lollipop and pretty sweet! Honestly the stock glass on the Switch functions very well, I just like pretty glass.

I paid $379 and I have a pre-order unit so afaik it was always that price.

Thanks! Perhaps the units on ebay for under $300 don't have warranty?

Right after this came out I emailed them about those units and they replied that there weren't any counterfeit units out there yet so it would be authentic and carry the warranty.

If you were considering buying, I'd email them again and reconfirm :uhoh:

I only use the Sic insert now. You can’t close the atomizer lid all the way. Transfers too much eat to the lid. Give it a shot. I also use an opaque quartz insert, but I must use multiple beads inside the insert or it gets too hot and hard to clean.

Just rebuilt my atty for my peek today,
Took a old vape mod with a oil chamber which consisted of a ceramic dish which I took out.
I was able to rebuild my atty and it heats up in green level very well .
I hope it lasts a whilw

Watched the livestream that JollyRoger(puffco owner) had today. He was playing with a new atomizer/bowl component (not sure what - he was avoiding describing it) and man it produced incredible vapor on green...Will be keeping an eye out for news on that.

He also confirmed that all current glass for the peak WILL work for the next gen peak, whenever and whatever it is.
