Thank you so much
@Riggs128 for the info & the PICS!! Wonder if that new design helps with the spillover that causes the bowl to get stuck to the atomizer plate (sometimes)?
stock ceramic bowl?
I wonder why some power users have zero problems with their atty's etc?
Hey guys, The new atomizer design is made so we don't break our atomizers while unscrewing them dirty. If the atomizer is dirty, the insert can and will stick to the ceramic heater. If you twist, pull, remove the insert while they are stuck together, a pin comes out of the heater and the atomizer is dead. That and thermal shock breakage are the 2 early death scenarios that keep happening. The New Notched top keeps us from twisting the insert and heater while trying to unscrew the atomizer to soak. It's also the reason they suggest soaking in Iso before dismantling the atty.
I can tell you that while these are easy to break, and DOA atty's can happen, IF you take care of your Peak atomizer you can get well over a month of heavy daily use out of it, maybe several months.
I wanted to keep you guys updated. I got my Peak back after a much longer wait this time...Man I still love it.
I may be a little upset about the longevity, being on Base #3 and Atomizer #7 isn't exactly low maintenance. But that being said I absolutely love this device and will end up buying the V2 whenever it comes out as well, as long as the Carta or something else isn't better by then. The Peak really is a nice product when it's working, and it works most of the time when you maintain it...until it doesn't.
I really do love the Switch too, and the silicone top seal and quartz insert are a game changer on it. Plus I got an extra battery pack for the Switch so I can literally dab for a week on it without power or needing to charge. But between the size and how easily it is to learn to milk a hit for every last drop, I use the Peak more when it's working. It took me a while to dial in the Switch to that sweet spot, I Cold start and uptemp dabs in both units.
With the Peak I put in a big dab, start on blue, get a nice, terpy hit, wait until it's ready for another sesh mode and move it to green for the next 2 or 3 hits, then I move to red for a thick cloud to finish it off. With the Switch there are SO MANY setting that it took a bit longer to figure out. It has 25 settings, 5 colors with 5 settings each color. I start on the 4th Purple (4/25) in crystal mode there and work my way up to the 4th aqua (14/25) setting to finish it off.
Also I got a Bubble cap and tether for the Peak!!! It is really nice, it hits as well as my aftermarket cap, much better than stock IMO.
OK, I know I may kick myself for this in a year or 2. But I just put in an order for a very nice custom klein for the Peak, I sure hope they keep that glass connection the same for the V2.0! lol I think the function is OK on the Peak glass but there is definitely room for improvement with a nice custom, colored piece especially.
I also put in an order for another Switch custom piece (maybe baby FTK) and picked up a Mav Glass recycler for it. It's Purple Lollipop and pretty sweet! Honestly the stock glass on the Switch functions very well, I just like pretty glass.
