Often medical. S&B sell in packs up to 400 and you can get loading trays to load 8 to 20 or more at once.
I used to load my 50 pack for extended camping trips when I had a Mighty.
Oh! I see. Somehow I keep forgetting how wide that the spectrum of users' needs is.

Season's Greetings Lobo fans.

After hearing so many good things, I'm going to order a Lobo as a gift. Hopefully today.

My question for you all is whether there is a optional stem I should consider getting from POTV when I place the order? Or go with stock?

For the gift recipient, I'd prefer to avoid water bubblers, but perhaps something with bend?

I would like to maximize flavor and coolness (along with low temp vaping).

Perhaps I'm better going 3rd party (even AliExpress) on a stem? I don't know.

Any advice appreciated.

Can't speak to 3rd party, but I hesitated on a globe stem from POTV because it is not as low key looking.
I finally did because the stock stem is short and gets hot. The globe stem cools more, as it should being longer and the globe supposedly helps.

The Globe was the one I was thinking of getting.

Thanks for the reply!

i would assume you would be getting this through POTV web site. They have a variety of little glass ware you can add at the time of sale for like 40 % off. Like if you wanted a little globe extension or maybe 1 of 3 type of bubblers. They additionally have a variety of starter kits in 3 different levels. The most advanced one even includes a Globe table bong. I like the basic starter kit https://www.planetofthevapes.com/cdn/shop/files/POTV_Lobo_Starter_wo_576x@2x.jpg?v=1730999269 because you get the extra battery and the dosing capsules. There is also the question of colors https://www.planetofthevapes.com/cd...4c85-8232-c4822fbc187e_576x.webp?v=1714373013

Maybe not the oldest, but possibly the fartiest!
The globe stem is very good. I also use a BB9 DynaVap stem. It has a carb, which you may like.

Your assumption was correct. I had some credit to burn at POTV and I wished to add a stem to the order.

I ended up adding a Globe (in Red) to a Black Lobo <--high school colors.

This one is a gift for my college student son.

I've never had the opportunity to try a Lobo, but the positive reviews here convinced me that this would be a great battery powered option for him.

Despite being at UC Santa Cruz--which is also known as Cannacruz (an extremely 4:20 positive place)-- neither he nor his friendship circle seems to be remotely familiar with DHV.

It still blows my mind how little penetration there is with dry-herb vaping here in CA.

I also made a gift of Dynavap M7 XL, which my son has taken too immediately (and has introduced to his LA circle) in the past days.

Man I wish I could openly consume with my parents, much less be gifted vapes by them! What a treat!

Lobo is a great vape packed into a much more familiar and approachable form factor for the average college-aged person, I think he and his circle will love it!

But we should really be getting the youth (and I'm one of them) onto more mindful vapes like the Vapman, start reversing the negative effects of modern convenience and Internet fragmentation.

what do you mean by a more mindful vape?

I mean vapes that are more ritualistic and meditative in their usage, as opposed to: click a few buttons, inhale, get high. Each bowl with the Vapman is its own journey for me, starting with super terpy hits where I can really focus on each flavor in the material before ramping up to heavier, stonier vapor. There's also a push and pull to the device's torch heating method that I find to be quite centering, and in general I find myself appreciating the mood of the present moment much more when using the device. It requires your active attention and intentionality, and it's rewarding in a different way than a heavy-hitter.

In a digital world that's so hellbent on making everything as fast and immediate as possible, it's nice to slow down for a bit and savor the small things and analogue rhythms of life. It's why I've started to prefer forums to other social media platforms that push endless streams of short-form content upon you. There's a time and place for both, and a distinct pleasure to both, but I worry that our collective struggles with immediacy and serotonin addiction are leading to destructive cultural ends. Social media and modern technology aren't going to go away, so the best we can do imo is be more mindful in our own lives. But that's just me anyhow.

Anyways, I shouldn't derail the Lobo thread any further. It's an awesome vape and an awesome gift!

ok i get what you mean borbjorbis, I still marvel at the comparisons between High End Audio equipment and these types of Vapes. Yes in both cases the end user is much more attuned to what is going on and what they are trying to achieve.

Absolutely! It's so different listening to a song through a nice pair of monitors, or through a nice pair of headphones, compared to through a laptop or iPhone speaker. You hear and feel so much more, and you get much more absorbed into the experience and form a much deeper relationship to the music.

I think it's the same with any hobby, really. Hobby's are the best thing ever, because they help us build a rich and meaningful relationship to the world around us, and DHVs are no exception!

But to my original point, even with music – truly one of my greatest loves – I struggle with my attention span these days, and I think the over-convenience of modern streaming technologies has played some role in breaking down my ability to focus. Just a few years ago I could easily get absorbed into a song and feel all its contours and spaces, but now I find myself mindlessly and automatically skipping songs the second I lose attention. I hate that I do this: it turns music into this flat commodity to be disposed of once its juice has been extracted, rather than a three-dimensional environment to explore and get lost in. Weed helps with being more present :)

Apologies to all -- back to the Lobo.

This holiday was the first time my son and I ever openly consumed with one another. A bit of a "breakthrough"on that front.

In truth, I've tried to gently discourage cannabis use on his part over the years, as he has ADHD and is a student, and I think too much consumption can be counterproductive for him.

On the other hand, I know (via communication) that he has been compusting and has complained (or expressed concerns) about harm to his lungs (real or imagined).

It was a "big move" on my part to get him a pair of vapes, but--given the positives of dry-vaping--I wanted to share the benefits with him.

It is somewhat funny to me that as a 66 year old that I'm introducing cannabis tech to a 20 year old at UC Santa Cruz (of all places), but there you have it.

He says his friends up at school are digging the Lobo. None have been previously aware of such devices.

He also got a Dynapvap w/ butane, so he has a manual and an automatic option.

Happy New Year!

I personally fail to see how looking like a meth head and playing with a torch does a damn thing for “internet fragmentation”, and having been alive before a lot of modern conveniences, the only draw back I see to convenience is greed. Now bosses want you to do more. I don’t see how any cannabis consumption device can help that.

Additionally, I get concerned about my son using a torch for dabs in the basement. The less torches he access to, the better I sleep.

My take is a bit different. I think if an easy to use and effective vape is not available the fall back is not dabbing w a torch, but lighting up a J or a pipe. When I first got my PAX and it was not really being effective I would go do a bong hit instead. We have a very non threatening torch more intended for torching your dessert baked Alaska rather than a dab.
