That f bomb sounds fantastic. One thing I want to put out there, I stuck my hydracirc on my Solo, using the 14mm gong and expander to fit the 18mm, and one thing I took note of was there is a sizable gap between the Solo and the bottom of the HC, basically the length of the gong stem. What I am curious about is would there be a special Solo/fbomb gong stem that has a lower profile made, so the Fbomb would sit maybe a cm or so above the Solo, eliminating a good amount of that gap?? something to consider anyway. Not sure if there would be any drawbacks to having the fbomb closer to the solo, as long as there is room for airflow.
This is a great question and one we have been struggling with. With the standard length GonG adapter you can potentially leverage a lot of force with the f-Bomb onto the little glass bowl inside the Solo creating a greater chance of breaking it. A shorter GonG is very desirable for this application. The problem that occurs is when it comes time to clear the f-Bomb, you need to separate slightly the GonG joint without lifting the bowl out of the Solo. With a small gap, you have no way of holding the GonG adapter from pulling out of the Solo. We thought of putting a small glass handle or disc that protrudes just far enough past the f-Bomb to hold down the GonG while clearing. Any ideas on how to best design this are welcome.
I know y'all must be super-busy with the Solo stems, etc., but do you have any guesstimate when we might get to see some pics of the f-bomb or the FC Bubbler?
Sounds like I have been remiss in not mentioning the PV FC Bubbler in the unofficial thread....

Thanks placetime, should have something to show very soon....
The Bottleneck for airflow is in the solo itself, not the joint, so I could see there being very little difference between a 14 & 18mm F-Bomb for Solo Use.
It also distinguishes it a bit more from the VXC hydratubes, which are all 18mm.
As for the thickness, I agree that 5mm is more desirable, but I assume it would maybe up the price a bit (both in material cost, and additional labor time)...
For me 3mm tends to be the minimum acceptable thickness I'm comfortable with on my pieces, so the 3.2 sounds OK to me.
We agree with Frederick, a 14mm joint won't change the airflow for the Solo. The FC Bubbler will try to break new ground as a high quality bubbler, designed with input from the FC community, thicker glass is always nicer, but then all your costs go up, which is what we are trying to keep as low as possible. 3.2mm is just a starting point, 4mm or even 5mm might be possible, we just don't know yet.
Just a question...
Do you plan to sell battery replacement packs for the solo?
I'm sure many of your customers would be happy to buy some!!
Hi Jhonny,
We have communicated with Arizer about this and they will not sell the battery packs separately, only way without making one yourself is to send your Solo back to Arizer to have them do a battery transplant.
Hi PV!! Do you have a set date when you plan to start carrying the Vapenwiser titanium domeless nails? I love my Ti nail but want to look into options that require less cleaning.
Also one question on its performance: I can see how the air flows differently rendering a dome unnecessary for vapor containment, but what about the dome's secondary function as a splash guard? (I'm also considering updating to a "turbine top" nail to try and control the splash; do any die-hard dabblers have experiences with either option?) After all my internets research my only solid conclusion is that the Vapenwiser is the prettiest haha.
Thanks PV!!
Hi Nic,
We have been testing the Vapenwiser extensively for a couple weeks and really like it. It is 100% USA made, even has papers certifying the Grade 2 Titanium, all smelted in the USA. The dabber it comes with is beautiful. We like to heat it up pointing the flame to the inside as well as the outside. We have not noticed any splashing, but maybe our dabs are not large enough to cause splashing?
A popular method to use the Vapenwiser domeless nail is "dunking", where you roll up your extract in to a tiny ball and slam dunk it into the hot nail, check youtube for dunking videos.
The universal fit is a nice bonus and no glass parts laying around or required cleaning. We should be stocking them very soon.
Peace and Love,
PV
