Just chiming in to say that I am really excited about all the awesome glass work that PV is working on. The Solo is my favorite PV and the PVHES is seemingly going to make it even better! To top it up, in my initial interaction with the nice people at PV, they have been extremely helpful.

Wow, yet another PV innovation to look forward to- I would love to have some options in filters. I know this gets said all the time, but PV is truely the best, no other company even begins to work for their customers like PV.

Also, on a tangentially related note, the discussion about filter types got me thinking about a few posts on the Arizer Solo thread that talked about whether there might be any glass filter options, so that we could retain the all glass air path. The closest I've seen is something like this: http://www.andrewsglass.com/specialty_04.tpl but I'm not sure if a coarse fittered class screen would work. Anyway, since the all glass idea appeals to me, I was wondering if it's something PV has ever considered, or whether it's not feasible for some reason.

We have actually thought of this, we have not tried it yet, but in theory it should work. The main problem stopping us from development is cost. Quality Fritted discs are very expensive and the labor needed to put one into a stem is a lot. A fritted disc stem would cost around 35.00 - 40.00 and we think could be very hard to get clean. If anyone wants one made to try out, we can do it, just contact us.

Thanks darco, the long awaited PVHES are in transit and should arrive today, we need to inspect each one, inventory them, photograph them and then add them to our site for sale. Depending on what time they arrive, they should be available for purchase late afternoon.

We made a small goof on our initial order and commissioned all our bent stem inventory to be made regular bowl size and forgot to divide them up to also make some bent shorties, doh! Sorry everyone, but the initial release won't have any PVHES Shorty Bent stems.

I have been loving using the Turbo tube with no glass partition. I feel I get an easier draw, and deeper hits..
I do believe that the glass partition does help capture and reflect heat back through the "load" giving a darker ABV, that is a bit better toasted... however, the draw and feel of the hits is very enjoyable with the partition-less Turbo tubes. I just up the heat a notch for my last hit!

PVHES are listed for sale. Right now we only have the straight and shorty straight, the bent ones all have one of the micro channels missing, so they need to go back to our glassblower to be corrected. We will be offering travel/storage/cleaning tubes that fit the straight stems only for just 1.00 with the purchase of a PVHES. Should have them in next week.

They had several different prototypes going at one point, some had holes some didn't. This is what they decided worked the best... I guess we'll know soon enough.

We will be using our logo (our avatar) and the model ie. PVHES on future versions, once we get our glass transfers sorted out. The PVHES GonGs are still in testing, we don't have an availability date yet, but it should not be too long.

All production PVHES Solo stems will have the 4 holes. We did create many prototypes of the PVHES Turbo, which has the one large hole and just a glass rim to hold a screen. What we found after a lot of testing was that with the other changes made to the stem, the 4 holes did not contribute to the restricted draw. So for the extra labor cost of cutting the Turbo's large bore hole and the loss of part of the screen support, there was no less of a restricted draw to be gained by having one large hole vs. the 4 smaller holes.

Vitolo said after using a prototype for some time now: "I do believe that the glass partition does help capture and reflect heat back through the "load" giving a darker ABV, that is a bit better toasted... however, the draw and feel of the hits is very enjoyable with the partition-less Turbo tubes. I just up the heat a notch for my last hit!" . So it looks like there could still be some merit to them beyond that of just restriction, thanks Vitolo, great feedback.

I know this has been asked before and you cannot give an exact answer to when the GonGversion will be available, but if I add the PVHES stem to my cart now, and then wait till the others appear, will it still be in my cart then?

Shipping costs to Europe are not high, but if I can order both together it will only be half of what it would be when ordering separate. So if possible I want to order both together, but if this will take more then for example a month then I will order them separate...The restricted air flow is the main thing I would love to see improvement on, now, lol

Items in the shopping cart don't get removed from inventory until paid for, so you could have it in your cart, but if it sells out before the checkout process ends, you will no longer be able to purchase that item. Please email us and we can help, no problem. We will be calling the new GonG/PVHES hybrid a PVHEGonG and we are on the second round of prototypes already. We know how important these are and we are focused on these shooting for mid June release.

Everyone keep in mind that you can only free up the draw so much and still get good vapor, we have some failed prototypes that had almost no restriction, but would drop the temp 3 lights on one hit and leave you with a poor quality hit. Even trying to slow down your hits didn't really work either on these. We work towards the best overall performance.

If anyone ever wants a custom stem/adapter with crazy free flow just email us for a quote.

thevapedcrusader is correct, the stems total length is just a little shorter, but the bowl part is about 3mm shorter. It does not look like much of a difference, but is actually 30% less bowl volume.

We found the best PVHES performance from these steps posted on our website:

1. Grind your flowers to a medium consistency, recommended to use our Volcano Grinder
2. Fill the bowl on your PVHES all the way and very very lightly pack a bit
3. Holding your Solo upside down, insert the PVHES Stem all the way in and then turn the Solo the right way up
4. Turn your Solo on and heat to your desired temperature with PVHES inserted during warm up
5. Once Solo reaches your selected temperature wait an extra 30 seconds to heat soak your biomass and PVHES
6. Take a nice long slow inhalation
7. Wait 30 seconds between hits to allow your Solo to stabilize
8. Due to much less air flow resistance of the PVHES, resist the urge to inhale too fast, overwhelming the Solo's heater
9. You can raise the temperature for the last few hits to get the full spectrum from your flowers
10. Bowl is spent when there is no more vapor production
