I got no ridge. I know it sounds crazy but the screen itself isn't causing the slight indent right, I would assume the oven is made from very thin metal able to be deformed with some real effort. Prolly not but.

Basically, if Ploom won't confirm, if I can't see a decent picture, or if I can't see and feel these ridges/notches for myself on my PAX or any of the others I've checked, then yes, I'm still interested in some actual proof.

No, I can't. I see the same image when looking into my oven. There are notches on the edges of the screen that cause a sort of reflected optical illusion off the oven wall when the screen is in place.

My original Pax has the tiniest of ridges, but it might have been machining/unintentional. My newest Pax has no ridges but I have no problems once the screen gets a little used...

Yes it does you just have to give it time. Many have asked that same question and everyone says it will go away in time (not too long). It is a great product especially with the buy one get one free deal..

If you keep it clean it will easily hold up in my experience. I use mine a good 5 to 6 days out of the week and it still hits great and has never given me a problem.

Hello everyone! I have been LOVIN' the Pax for about 4 months now and I have to say at first I was slightly displeased by the build quality, I have to admit I really expected just a little more. All-in-all though I have come to love the hell out of this thing.

Cleaning it hasn't been an issue for me I might even say that I probably over clean it. Over the last week of use I have noticed what may or may not be a problem. I charge it and it shows green on the base, and I turn it on and give it a good shake and it never shines green, always yellow.

Am I experiencing anything new or should I not worry about it? I wouldn't say I have been experiencing shorter run times, but the battery gauge never really showing green has bothered me. All contacts are clean and I charge it for about 3 hours.

BBrase, try letting your battery run down to well in the red and then charge it and see if that helps. My buddies pax was having the same issue and that fixed it.

This has happened to me a couple times. Take the fully charged PAX off the base and it flashes yellow instead of green. If I put it back on the charger it will show full charge right away. Take it back off the base and shake again. Now it's green. This has been my experience the few times it has happened.

You can hack a 12v escort (edit: evidently it's cobra) radar detector cord to fit your home charger, or just get an inexpensive inverter and use your complete home charger in your car that way.
At least I think this is the vape that works with the escort adapter...

Thanks, but I was thinking of something that I could charge up at home or in the car and then use it in the tent for a few recharges.

I just saw your link, didn't realize you wanted to go completely off the grid. I would forgo the pax in that case, and get something that uses a lighter/torch or is powered by it's own butane tank. There's many many options for that, I have a few suggestions if you're interested.

But yeah what you linked to would surely last longer than one of those backup phone batteries that was recently hacked to use with a pax. It just depends on what you are willing to carry and how far to recharge.

The problem is that even the biggest battery will run out, so if you're determined to go that route make sure that you have a plan to keep it charged up!

It's do-able but not nearly as easy as charging from a car 12v supply. The Pax will charge from any supply that is 9 to 18v if you connect it to the right plug (center positive):

So what you need is a battery pack, like this, a 1.3mm right angle plug, like this, and a charger for the battery pack, like this. That should have enough juice to charge the pax at least twice!

When I first purchased Pax and began using it regularly I thought I was expert at the little nuances of the product after only a few months; now a year later and looking back in retrospect I'm still learning how to properly use it so it functions optimally. I'm referring to the art/technique of placing the screen correctly in the oven. When the screen is correctly positioned there should be no rocking from side to side and by gently tapping with a stick or probe it is easy to determine if it is situated correctly. Many times I've mistakenly placed the screen after cleaning in a way where it did rock and invariably after a short time the screen will move and herb will go up the chamber. Now I spend a great deal of time getting the screen to sit correctly and I try and clean less frequently because of the hassle involved in getting the screen to sit right.
