I seriously doubt a bunch of Stanford graduates would overlook something like metal being stuck in lungs.. You guys are paranoid.. I need to get some of the stuff you are smoking..

Lol..

I doubt they would either BUT I see the scratches. This means the metal that was scratched out went somewhere... You don't need to be a Harvard grad to know that.

Right...

Contact Ploom. There's got to be a logical explanation and if there isn't, I'd want my money back.

I have to say though, I'm no doctor but if metal is going into your lungs, no matter how insignificant I'm sure you'd get some chest pains especially if you are a daily user.

I did contact ploom...they responded.

In short they said that it could be from the tooling process. They also said Pax went through third party testing... But they can't call Pax "safe " since it's a tobacco product. They recommended I check with my physician...

Don't know how I feel about the response...

It's funny how vape life is healthier but with so many chemicals and questionable materials, especially in cheap pieces, it may not be safe. Toxins.

That is a shady response. Not sure what to tell you.

This is why I've decided to stick with bowls until the vaporizer quality gets better. Remember these vapes are still a relatively new technology. It'll get better with time.

I used to use the Solo almost daily and then I got chest pains. That never happened when I smoked from bowls unless I smoked a ton the night before.

I hate to say it but maybe vaporizers are overrated..

Give it 5 years, maybe less, I think we'll see some vapes that are amazing..

Look at the computers that came out when Bill Gates first invented them and look at them now. We'll just have to be patient.

You are on this forum, what vapes do you own?

I agree with you completely. That's why I sense so much caution and ask so many questions on this forums. My concerns are legitimate.

I have been using pax every day since February...I wonder how much metal has been inhaled ...and even worse, still in my body.

Go to a dr tell them u have chest pains n have them do an x-ray and that will tell u without a doubt how much, if any is in ur lungs.

I just looked in my mouthpiece and I don't see any noticeable scratches. What do u use to clean it?

Vaporizers aren't that complicated. They just heat the herbs. if you think they're too complicated to be safe, just get the simplest form of a vaporizer. A log vaporizers (nano,ud,ect), VB, SSV, DBV... VB have been selling their vaporizers since '99 I believe, and the concept hasn't changed.

Agreed, those models don't have moving metal pieces rubbing against each other...

but this is the Pax thread...

And based on my observation and the response from Ploom, I am not confident in the Pax.

I don't know how serious or not serious the metal concern is for Pax users. I just know that I can visibly see scratches on the inside tube from opening and closing the mouth piece. Common sense tell me those little metal pieces were inhaled and possibly ended up in my lungs or throat somewhere. Even worse they are stuck somewhere in the lining of my body giving off toxins...Uggghhh time to combust and get ripped. It's been a while.

There's nothing wrong with combustioning you just have to make sure you clean your bowl all the time. At least once a week, and that's minimum.

Forget bongs.. they'll kill your lungs. If you are at a party do what you have to do but otherwise as long as you avoid bongs and clean your bowls you should be alright.

Vaporizers are not at the quality level they need to be just yet... Give it a couple years and I think we'll all be happy. Patience is a virtue.

Its just that the last paragraph I completely disagree with especially, and I'm just trying to steer you in what I believe is the best direction for you. You might want to check out the vaporizers I mentioned, no harm in that, but in the end, to each his own.

I have a tiny bubbler...that's what in using.

The stress of knowing there is metal flakes inside me somewhere freaks me out...sucks.

If anyone wants to buy a pax with valid warranty (receipt) hit me up lol

Just took a rip off my bub for the first time in over a month of not combusting...so high right now. It's awesome. No need to worry about getting stabbed with metal in my insides. + no worries.

If I were you I'd be more concerned with whatever chemicals might be in what you are vaping. There are some really nasty chemicals that people use to increase yield or kill pests.

Also i would suggest the thermovape cera to be safe... but there is a learning curve... and its not as descreet as the pax... the cera is a portable... or log vapes like cawshook mentioned (e-nano, hi, ud...)....

I know what's in mine exactly... No worries here:rofl:

Me too. I know exactly what's in mine. It's more of a worry what won't be able to get out of my system, like small pieces of metal!

*My pax is black, and it's for sale 150 obo. Comes with box, receipt, and a lot of ploom lube. It's in near mint condition with a few light scratches from being in pocket. Very very clean, shiny new on the inside.

*Doesn't everyone here have a pax?

I got to say I absolutely love this vape BUT the thought of inhaling pieces of metal sucks. Worries me way to much. But the damage may already be done since I see the scratches inside my pax. My buddies pax had the same findings. I wish I had a more confident response from Ploom but i guess that wouldn't really solve the issue. Common sense says that this metal is shedding when the pieces are pushed together. Simple as that.

Well yeah I'm sure there are plenty of quality vapes out there but with time they are going to get better and the prices are going to drop.

That's just how technology works.

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with buying a vape now but there's nothing wrong with waiting a little either.

....I want to send mine back to ploom...it is less than one week old and had four oven loads through it...

...even with a fine grind and low temp the abs looks like it came out of an Atmos Raw rather than a proper vaperizer....

...do any of you guys examine your avb under a scope...???...

...one can get used to anything, but I am more inclined to eschew this form factor and try a more substantial device...

Floating on.
I also see tiny scratches inside the entry to the vapor tube and understand what you're talking about more clearly.

It would be nice to hear from a FC Staff member on this issue.. Is this the first time this issue has come up I wonder?
