I bought mine for 200 from a vape store and, apparently, anything under the 250 MSRP is a fake. Mine, like yours, has no telltale signs of being fake. I did, however, had a true-to-product battery. When I contacted Ploom they did say my unit had a valid serial number. I would contact them anyways to see if the serial # is legit. If anything, say you got the thing as a gift from a friend and you have no idea where they bought it or how much they paid for it.As i told before, I got a fake one as a present. No warranty there.
It doesn't, directly, but if you have a compounding problem with the unit, you can additionally claim that the battery is worse off than before. For example, I have a charge issue where sometimes the unit doesn't recognize it's charged even though it shows green on the stand. It forces me to reset it on the stand and let it take another ~5m to figure itself out that it is, in fact, fully charged. In addition to this, I can barely get two ~25m full sessions out of it (I started being able to get three-and-a-half 20-25 minute sessions when I received the unit a year and a month ago). When I contacted Ploom I mentioned the charge issue and threw in the battery problem too. I was told that, while the battery itself isn't directly covered, they would make sure I have a fresh battery if they repair my unit's charge issue.
To be honest, however, I'm banking on getting a fresh unit. I told them that if they have to replace it can they send a blue one instead (as I have a black one); to which they told me not a problem at all. I send it in tomorrow... let's hope I get a new one!

Have been waiting for your bit on this matter but already have this video in my "how to" folder. I know exactly where to buy that gray battery but im wondering if i can fit there battery with bigger mAh. I need someone who already successfully swap his battery and can show some improvements.
You've already indicated:
- Your Pax is a fake
- The battery with the fake is shit.
- The unit is already apart and ready to have a battery replacement done.
Why not simply go buy an appropriate battery for the unit and replace it with one that's not shit? A Panasonic 18650B 3400mAh (NCR18650B) should do the trick (The stock Pax battery is 2600mAh) Get one that's unprotected as the protected one will be too long to fit in the unit and the Pax also uses unprotected batteries, presumably they have the protection built into their own firmware.
Also, more mAh doesn't make the battery physically larger. An 18650 is an 18650. Get one with tabs already spot-welded in place. Search eBay for: Panasonic NCR18650A Li-ion Battery with Tabs and take the first hit (this one is 3100mAh, but reasonably priced and they ship from the USA). You need the tabs pre-spot welded in place so you can solder the connections...unless of course you have an appropriate spot welder for the task.
What do you have to lose? You have a fake Pax that won't hold a charge. You have no warranty to worry about trashing. You also now know at least one reason the fakes suck: they use shit batteries.

Because im not specialist on batteries I have no idea what this letters around "18650" means. There is hundreds kinds of this batteries around. And info like yours is what im looking for.
So, you are recommending me Panasonic 18650B 3400mAh (NCR18650B), i like this battery. Will try to find with spot-welded bits. Can you please tell me which charger will be the best for this battery 9V/1.3A or 5V/2A

Just found out that Nominal Voltage on NCR18650B is 3.6V shouldn't it be 4.2V for Pax?
I'm simply providing you information. A genuine Panasonic 18650 is a quality LiOn battery that you can count on. If you use the "B" model, you will have a capacity of 3400mAh. if you use the "A" model, you will have a capacity of 3100mAh.
18650 LiOn batteries in the capacity range we're discussing are rated at 3.6v (some list 3.7, but they're the same for all intents and purposes). The Pax uses an 18650 3.6v 2600mAh LiOn.
A 4.2V (or higher) 18650 has a capacity upwards of 4500mAh and larger, so the answer is no, it shouldn't be a 4.2v cell.
You are replacing "like with like", only the capacity is different; the 18650A is 3100mAh, and the 18650B is 3400mAh, both are 3.6v/3.7v (depending on who's writing the spec).
Regarding the charger, again, since you are basically wanting to emulate what Pax does, you will use a 9V/1.3A charger as Ploom provides with the Pax.
I purchase my gear legit, so I have no need to replace the batteries in my Pax, and if the need arises, I have a 10 year warranty that I will fall back on.
I can tell you, however, that if I were in your shoes, I would indeed be proceeding as I've discussed here.

If it were me I would throw that counterfeit in the trash and purchase a genuine as soon as possible! Ploom is a standup company and I have a brandy new Pax in my hands. They paid shipping BOTH ways and even sent me some free goodies for my trouble. It's worth the money to buy the genuine. So nice to have a brand new vape today!!

I use FlowerMate for about 4 months and im extremely happy with the device. I will upgrade my fake PRESENT and use it when FM is on charger.

I had some issues with my Pax with a repeated temp light issue (despite rigorous cleaning). The other day I took it off the charger and it was blinking red lights 3 times then turning off.
I inquired late last Friday on their website about my issues. This Monday afternoon (today) I received two phone calls and got two follow up emails from separate customer service reps. We decided it is best that I ship my unit to them and they provided a free 1 day expedited shipping label.
Hopefully they can fix these issues or get me a new unit. I really liked the Pax when I first purchased it but it began to have some quirks. That prompt and courteous customer service can't be beat though, definitely glad I ordered it right from the manufacturer. I'll let you folks know how I made out.

Even if serial number is legit, it doesnt mean a thing. Main thing is board with cheeps on it. In the midlle you have to have written Pax by Ploom. For me warranty is not an option.
I already successfully opened my Pax with no damage at all, and I believe I can swap battery myself. All I need is couple of dudes who did it before and can advise and reassure me in my actions.
When you removed it from the charger, was the unit's light green (as if ready to go) or orange (still charging)? If it was green and then flashed red 3x and turned off you had the same issue as myself.
