Howdy DOV, sorry to meet you under a cloud and all, but welcome to the Forum and all the fun anyway?
I think we can get you going again, we've done so LOTS around here you know.
First off, forget 'oxidizing' or any dry burns at least for now. Revisit it later if you feel you must, but now it's more likely to make it worse than better. Don't 'check for the glow' either, this too is try burns. Do it too much and you're sucking around for a leaking cart when/if you get it going.
Also, stick with 2.4 Ohm carts until you master the system. 2.4s at 3.7 Volts only.
I think the root of your problem is loading, it's where most guys have troubles. Check the instructions on the D9 site carefully before your next attempt. The key is the heating of the center section before you heat the goods. Hold it at the bottom, don't let the part under your fingers get too hot (seals down there) but you want the center plenty hot so the load doesn't hit cold metal and stall. Once it stalls you're hard pressed to melt it again without overheating the seals.
Done right, you'll feel the hot oil drop down through your fingers.
Then, don't dally around, prime right away while it's still hot inside. Waxes are harder than oils in this part, you need the edge. Don't lean on the button more than about 3 seconds at a time until it's going well, this too is a dry burn. There are two heaters in there, one is slowly heating the oil charge (what we need to prime, flowing oil) the other is the main heater which can burn up if we push too hard before there's liquid there to cool it off. Give it say 5 seconds to cool off before another 3 second try. Once you start to get vapor, go for it. But until then slowly build heat in the load until it's flowing correctly.
Once you get the hang of it (think about what's going on) it's really pretty easy. Guys with a lot less going for them than you have sorted it out, you can too. IMO the rewards are worth the efforts.
Good luck with the boxing.
